AutoCAD .NET :: Current Drawing Location Path
Apr 29, 2011I am using vb.net and I need to find the directory path that my current or open drawing is located in. I'm not sure how to get this from vb.net.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Change Data Reference Path In Current Drawing
Jul 12, 2012i have this drawing which i created data reference to the wrong project in the wrong coordinate system and worked off that. then now i am trying to correct it. so i copied the dtm and did coordinate transformation and got that right. now the model drawing is still linked to the original dtm from the other project folder.
if i remember right back in 2007 version there was a completely built in shortcut editor which allows you to change the path in current drawing. now it's all greyed out. there is no access. so is there a way to bypass this? probably pretty common thing to do. say you want to try different version of the same object to try your design just swap it back and forth.
They should make a right click button on the data shorts in current drawing and says "browse data reference" not show up when only broken reference occurs.
one way i can think off now is copy the files to local. disable network drive, then let it broken reference show up then browse to desktop one then delete desktop one and hopefully it get the broken reference again and not look for the very original one. i think it's probably gonna do that, there is some "hidden" thing stored in the object to point to the original path which not available to users.

Jun 5, 2013I have 1 Next button that is used on the timeline. Each position has a pause then a play so there is only 1 button. I need to get the label info so I know where I am so I can save the location of the timeline that the user was at if they exited before they finished the process.

Disk space not a problem these days and would save time to have a pdf copy of all drawing tabs readily stored in the directory ready for issue.

Feb 15, 2013I'm working on building an action in Illustrator CS5 that will do the following..Delete the layer "original artwork"Select AllCreate OutlinesSave as PDF "content.pdf" to the current working folder with specific settings in the Save PDF prompt..Up to step 4 this is pretty simple, but so far when trying to record the saving step it insists on using the directory that I'm building the action in - not the relative one based on where the current file is opened. Also, unlike the 'Save For Web JPEG' default Illustrator action, the PDF saving step doesn't retain any of the specific settings within the action.

Jan 6, 2012I'm trying to use some images in my ScriptUI dialog, but I want to use a "relative" path name, and I can't seem to get it to work.For example, this myScript.jsx works just fine, but as you can see, I'm using an "absolute" path name to transparencyGrid.jpg:

However, I want to be able to use a relative (to myScript.jsx) path to point at transparencyGrid.jpg, like this:

w.show ();
But, I can't seem to get this to work because relative paths seem to be relative to the current folder, Folder.current, not the location of the currently executing script.I say that because when I do this:
alert(Folder.current);
The only thing the alert message shows is a backslash (/), indicating to me that the current folder is the root of my OS, but I thought it would be the folder where myScript.jsx resides.
So, is there a way of setting Folder.current to the location of the actual script?
AutoCAD Inventor :: IBL File Location / Where To Set Path
Oct 10, 2012I have a standard install of Inventor 2012 SP2, but for some reason it cant seem to find the images for IBL effects. See attached Screen shot, when I go to select an item there is nothing there.
I have found the files in the "c:userspublicautodeskenviroments" folder but why Inventor cant see them?I have looked in "App options" in the "file" tab and in the project file and I cant see any pathing options that relate to the enviroments?
The default images for textures and bumpmaps are all found OK just not the IBL files? How I can set the path to these enviroment images?
AutoCad :: Unable To Re-path Autosave Location
Jul 26, 2010My co-worker is having an issue with re-pathing the autosave location.
When it is re-pathed there is an error that says:
'The directory specified for automatic saves must exist and have read-write permission. The value previously saved for the automatic save files will be used.'
The file that it is linked to was just created, and the user has full administrative rights.
In turn this effectively makes the autosave not work.

Apr 16, 2012I'm trying to specify the image source for ribbon images using relative syntax but having no luck.
If I use this:
button.LargeImage = new BitmapImage(new Uri(@"c:\folderA\folderB\image.png") );
it works just fine. But it relies on absolute syntax, which is daft since it forces the code to be installed in a specific directory (or the images).
I've tried
button.LargeImage = new BitmapImage(new Uri(@"images\image.png", UriKind.Relative) );
and
button.LargeImage = new BitmapImage(new Uri(@"images/image.png", UriKind.Relative) );
and I've tried placing the images subdirectory with the png file relative to the assembly, to the project source folder and even relative to AutoCAD itself - and in none of the cases do I get an image. I'd like the images subfolder to be relative to the compiled assembly.

Photoshop Elements :: Imported Pictures Are Not Showed In Current Path
Dec 26, 2012i am using elements organizer 10 to organize my pictures, about 100.000.
All these pictures are in the location D:/pictures/privat pictures/2001/YYYYMMDD. Each year has a lot of folders oriented by date.
All this pictures are a second time at my backup drive Z:/backup pictures/private pictures/2001/................
After creating a new catalog and start importing all files from D: it takes time till all pictures are imported.
But then the failure happens if i click to any folder in D: i can not see any picture.
If i start import i.e. for one single folder again i get the message" pictures are already imported..."
If i click at a bar in the timeline the pictures are shown and the path tree shows it at location Z....with the path name from D:
I created more catalogs the last time to find a solution.
I use Windows 7 ultimate

Aug 8, 2012I am trying to write a quick macro to open the current drawing in the block editor. I can easily do the steps from the dialog box to open the current drawing, but the command line version give me an error.
Command: -bedit
Enter block name or [?]: <current drawing>
(A message box pops up saying, "The name cannot be longer than 255 characters."
If I click ok on the message box, AutoCAD returns to model space. The file name is 30 +/- characters, and the path is maybe another 50 to 100 characters. Can I bedit the current drawing using the command line, or must I use the dialog box?

Sometimes a match is not found because the layout name in the SSM does not match the layout name in the current tab (sysvar CTAB). Is there a more directly way...and one that works? For example, I have a windows form with a list box with names of many dynamic blocks that are stored on my c drive, I would like to pick a block with a name and upon a click event of a button or other will go get this block from a separate file and insert it in the drawing I'm currently using, and would need to be able to pick the point of where I want the block to go. I'm using autocad 2010 with visual studio 2008- using the new autocad .net language.

Is there a way to "push" them from the current drawing to another on?
Here is what I am picturing:
Right click on a style on the settings tab and choose "Send to Template"
"Template" would either be a predefined DWT file or it would open a standard file selection dialog to select one.....and this would copy the selected style into the template.

Jan 16, 2013When I set a layer as current, every object or line I select in the drawing appear to be on that layer in the toolbar. Although in the properties toolbox, I see that the line I selected is still on the right layer.
I can't work in paperspace either, when I freeze a layer it freezes all objects. It seems like whenever I give a different layer to an object, it attributes to all object that same layer.
When I open the same drawing in acad 2008, everything is ok, the objects have the proper layers.
Is there a command for that or it's an acad 2013 problem?
