I can't get the "Properties" dialog box to remain the same location each time I launch Civil 3D 2014. I have "xref" and "toolspace" on another monitor, along with "properties" although each time I launch CIvil the "Properties" dialog box reverts back to the middle of my other monitor...

View 2 Replies View RelatedTypically when setting up a viewport in paper space I can change the viewport type at the bottom of the properties dialog box. In 2013 the option is available, but it will always snap back to undefined. I'm sure it is a setting somewhere.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have created a surface and have exported it to LandXML for import into another software. After generation of the surface, I have cleaned up the surface triangles to eliminate triangulation outside of the area of interest. I have tried this both with deleting actual surface lines and by applying a boundary. After I edit the surface, I export it as a LandXML and bring it into my application where the surface still has the lines outside of the area of interest that I wanted deleted.
What I suspect is happening is that C3D is recording that the lines were deleted in the edits section of the surface, but that the actual lines are not deleted from the surface definition. My other software is not smart enough to figure this out from the LandXML file. Is it possible to finalize all the edits in C3D so that upon export my deleted lines do not transfer through?

View 3 Replies View RelatedHave dynamic block w/ Block Properties table. Can use table to change size of block by picking from dropdown list. Would like move (insertion) point of entire block to always remain exactly centered in block. Block is simply a rectangle. Have tried setting insertion point using point filters (.x of mid of horiz line, yz of mid of vert line, etc,) but all this does is assign an absolute value to the insertion point. When the size of the block changes, the insertion point remains where it was (absolute position).
Have tried creating a base point parameter, but it will not let me use geometric constraints to define position (coincident w/ endpoint) or add parametric dimension so cannot define location by using formulas (d2 =d1/2, etc). Have kludged it by using dummy point at 0,0 and "fixing" it.
Same thing for location of properties table - how do I tell it to attach the properties table grip "coincident" to the lower right corner of the rectangle so it follows the corner when the size changes?
Have attached what I have so far.
Ultimately want to also place the text "Case 1" "Case 2" etc as read from the properties table in the middle of the rectangle so that when I explode the block the text remains.
I'm new to AutoCAD 2011 (from AutoCAD-14). Is it possible to make the properties dialog box function like it did in AutoCAD-14?If not, can I remove some of the items in the properties dialog box.

When I issue the Wblock Command I can not find the Dialog box to select objects and file location... This happens in the Layer Dialog when I try to change the color of a layer, the Color Dialog box can not be found. When I use the Block command the dialog box pops up, so I can see it.

This problem just started when I upgraded to 2014. When I try to set up layer filters the Layer filters properties dialog box does not show. I'm guessing the function is working its is just that the dialog box is poping up somewhere out of view of the monitors, forgot to mention it is a 2 monitor set up.

It used to be that when you selected a ployline onscreen you could set properties for the line in the properties dialog. With this version of ACAD, if the polyline is not of uniform width on all sections then the global width option is missing from the options dialog.
I know that you can now right click and go polyline/width but i suppose i have been doing this a certain way for so long and now i cant and its annoying.
I have recently installed "Autodesk Product Design Suite Premium 2012 English Win 64bit"., and now I would like to create thru "Make Part" feature an assembly in which I am using in the previous version 2011. The feature options are not working.Step to re-create:
1. Manage Tab > Make Part
2. Under "Place part in target assembly" click the Folder button on New File Location
3. A "Component Properties" dialog box will appear. Now, click "YES" or "NO" button, dialog box closes.....

The adjustments and effects dialogs always open right in the middle of the Paint.Net screen - in other words, right over the center of your paint object (photo, etc.). It is the last place anyone should want it to appear. I always have to drag it out of the way before I can use the effect (otherwise, you can't see what the effect is doing).
Example A: Make all such dialogs open at the right-most side of the Paint window by default (or left, etc.).
Example B: Have Paint.net remember the last position of any dialog box - and apply it for ALL effects/adjustments dialogs that open subsequent to that. This is my favorite option even if Paint.net won't keep the position after it closes. Moving the first dialog box of a new session once is no big deal as long as Paint.net will remember it per session.
I'm running version 2.8.2 of GIMP on Kubuntu 12.10. I do not remember which version I was running before this one, but it was possible to press ALT + ENTER to open a properties dialog where one could enter / modify a description for the opened image. ALT + ENTER does nothing in this new version, but I think that I should enter the File -> Properties dialog to do this, right? The dialog is different and it is in a different menu now, but it seems here is where we should enter / edit image metadata. However, nothing that I fill in this dialog is saved. I enter the title, author, description, etc., but when I click OK the info is discarded without warning. If I go back to the File -> Properties dialog right after confirming the data I had just entered, the dialog is blank again.Is this a bug or am I looking for the enter / edit metadata functionality in the wrong place?

When I go back into print settings, the settings I used a couple of weeks ago are displayed. Reseting defaults has no effect.if there is somewhere in Photoshop that I may have set a selection or a configuration that is keeping the most recent settings from being retained?
View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently after sharpening/editing a photo in the Develop module I returned to the Library module, only to see that the sharpening adjustements reversed. When I go back to view the image in "Develop" the sharpness returns. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here. All of the other photos I've adjusted in Develop retain all changes when toggling back to Library. This is using LR3.6 for MAC.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen working on an image in ACR, if you select one of the local adjustment tabs, such as Graduated Filter, and move any of the sliders on the right-hand side, any values you change will be retained if pressing 'Cancel', then opening the image again in ACR and selecting the same tab. I find this surprising, as I would have thought that by pressing 'Cancel', any adjusted settings, since opening the image on this occasion in ACR, would not be retained.
Furthermore, if you open another image in ACR and select the same local adjustment tab, the same settings that you adjusted in the other image have identical slider settings in that image as well.
I can see that this behaviour could be viewed as useful, i.e. when wanting to use the same local adjustment on multiple images, as any adjustment of the local adjustment's slider settings, on their own, will have no effect unless you actually perform the selected local adjustment to the image. But, as I say, I would have expected Photoshop to simply not retain any settings you have adjusted, since opening the image on this occasion in ACR, if you don't press 'Open Image' or 'Done', and simply press 'Cancel'.
In Civil 2013 is there a way to lock where you drag the tool bars? I work on dual screen and drag my properties and layers manager over to the second screen. Randomly they will jump back from the right screen to the left screen on program restart.
Also when I open the grading toolbar and drag it over to the right screen some commands, such as breaking a feature line, will cause it to jump back into the middle of the left screen right then.
Is there anyway to lock the toolbars to where they were dragged last?
I've set the start and end locations to be at the structure inner wall and applied rules but the invert elevation is still as if the pipe ended at the center of the structure. Did I miss something or does this not do what I think it does?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI had created a corridor using the attached assembly with conditional cut/fill and SlopeToSurface SA, the cut condition provides a ditch SA at cut only. Then had the Ditch Bottom Profile to follow a ditch profile that I created, and flows toward the increasing chainage. The horizontal offset and elevation of the ditch runs perfectly fine as desired, except between Sta. 0+465 (cut section) and Sta. 0+470 (fill section), where the ditch ties back to the edge of shoulder instead of going toward the outside (as shown in the blue lines).
My question is, do I need to make a transition between the cut and fill sections? If so how much effect and details is needed as I have a few other locations with the same issue.
I have just upgraded from C3D 2011 to C3D 2013. I know it should be simple to copy my custom CUI file from one release to another, but somehow I'm missing it. In 2013, I open Workspace/Customize, then swith to the Transfer tab (right sofar?). In the pull down, I choose Open. Now at this point, I think I should just browse for my 2011 CUI file, but for some reason, I can't find it. If I search my C drive, I still can't find it. With 2011 open, in Workspace, the name of the CUI that I use is "Randy", so I'm assuming the file name to search for would be randy.cui.
