I'm new to AutoCAD 2011 (from AutoCAD-14). Is it possible to make the properties dialog box function like it did in AutoCAD-14?If not, can I remove some of the items in the properties dialog box.

I have recently installed "Autodesk Product Design Suite Premium 2012 English Win 64bit"., and now I would like to create thru "Make Part" feature an assembly in which I am using in the previous version 2011. The feature options are not working.Step to re-create:
1. Manage Tab > Make Part
2. Under "Place part in target assembly" click the Folder button on New File Location
3. A "Component Properties" dialog box will appear. Now, click "YES" or "NO" button, dialog box closes.....

Is there are way to make the size of this dynamic, So you can drag it wider and taller, There are other boxes that seem to be frozen in size. I use this with many custom fields and it's difficult to enter data when you see what your doing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt used to be that when you selected a ployline onscreen you could set properties for the line in the properties dialog. With this version of ACAD, if the polyline is not of uniform width on all sections then the global width option is missing from the options dialog.
I know that you can now right click and go polyline/width but i suppose i have been doing this a certain way for so long and now i cant and its annoying.
I am having a problem with the perpendicular function when I draw a line. It won't lock at a single point, instead it moves along an axis.
For example, when I want to draw a line in Y direction it moves in the X axis, and opposite if I draw in the X direction.
How can I make the perpendicular function lock to one position?
When opening properties tab, I always trying to make my line scale value into decimal but i didn't know how to do with it.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm working on my dialog for editing iproperties again and I'd like to make it preview the output of a function. We like using functions in the description for calling out material sizes using parameters. So I have my dialog get the function in the description iproperty, but if you don't know what parameters are what it can be hard to work with.
I'd like to show the evaluated description function so it's easier to work with.
Description function

I know it'd be possible to set the iproperty and get the evaluated version after setting it. But if the user cancels out of the dialog that change would have to be undone, which would require storing the original value and resetting it on cancel. Is there a way to evaluate the function without setting it first?
When I select any object, my quick properties tab is blank and my properties tab doesn't register anything. Also, I get an error message when I go into my CUI to try to modify the quick properties tab. Pretty frustrating. I've attached a couple of images for reference. I've repaired, re-installed and unistalled and re-installed and still have the same probelm.

I have a .NET program to read plotter information available in ACAD. I use PlotConfigManager.SetCurrentConfig function to set a PC3 plotter as current device and got the PlotConfig to read paper size information.
If the PC3 file is invalid (for example plotter name not exist, PMP file can’t be located, etc.) a dialog of ACAD ERROR will popup. Is there a way I can validate the plotter before SetCurrentConfig function to avoid the dialog popup?

I do not remember which version I was running before this one, but it was possible to press ALT + ENTER to open a properties dialog where one could enter / modify a description for the opened image. ALT + ENTER does nothing in this new version, but I think that I should enter the File -> Properties dialog to do this, right? The dialog is different and it is in a different menu now, but it seems here is where we should enter / edit image metadata. However, nothing that I fill in this dialog is saved. I enter the title, author, description, etc., but when I click OK the info is discarded without warning. If I go back to the File -> Properties dialog right after confirming the data I had just entered, the dialog is blank again.Is this a bug or am I looking for the enter / edit metadata functionality in the wrong place?

I have drawn a bar counter in 3d which has a top rectangular shape with curved corners. The front of the bar has 100mm wide wooden fascia panels and they need to follow the line of the bar. I am using the Polar Array function which works great except I cant seem to get the panels to follow the curves/arcs around the corners, but they sit neatly on all the straight edges of the bar. So in other words the panels are straight and lined up on the straight parts of the bar but the panels stay at 90 degrees instead of following the curved areas of the bar.

View 3 Replies View Relatedhow annotative objects function through xrefs and am running into some trouble.I created a brand new drawing, made an annotative symbol and 2 peices of annotative text, all three have 1"=20' and 1"=40' assigned to them. I can switch my scale back and forth and the objects act as they should.
If creat a second drawing and xref the first one, the only way I can see these xref'd objects is if I set ANNOALLVISIBLE to "1" or if I select one of their xref scales as the current scale 1"=20'_Xref or 1"=40'_Xref.
My goal is to be able to have plans that are annotative that can be xref'd into another annotative drawing and have the objects in both that are the same scale show up.
I am running AutoCAD 2011 on Windows 7 via BootCamp. The Delete Key does not function to erase lines. I have set Pickfirst to 1 and ensured Noun/Verb is checked on. I have tried pressing just the Delete key and also FN Delete, which is the correct combination for Delete on the MacBook Pro keyboard.

When I get out and go back into Autocad, the dailog box is still locked, but it is in the middle of the drawing screen.
