i have problem with my cad. When i push in scroll button in old settings i saw hand (pan function) and it was easy to move. Now when i push in scroll button i see cross with arrows and moving where i want is difficult. How can i change it (i want use pan function when i push in scroll).

View 28 Replies View RelatedI have this problem with AutoCAD 2012 and with LT2011. When first opening a drawing in a layout with the viewport locked and activated, the first scroll action moves the drawing within the viewport. After the first scroll, any scrolling moves the entire viewport as it should when locked. Putting the drawing back to where it was within the viewport requires unlocking the viewport or undoing everything back to the first scroll action. This is very anoying especially if you are zoomed in and can't see the edges of the viewport and don't notice the move right away. I did not have this problem in the older versions.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Logitech MX Laser 1000 mouse, love the mouse. But the Middle scroll button does not pan when you hold down the wheel. And when you double click the wheel it no longer does a zoom extents. When you scroll the wheel it does zoom in and out. My mbuttonpan is set to 1. Not sure if I toggled something on or off.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using 2012 version of CAD. I usually use classic mode. My files consist of alot of xrefs which are saved in different CAD versions. Whenever I scroll on my drawings i get a fatal error. I am not sure why this happens. Everytime a fatal error appears I have recover all the xrefs and the drawings those are opened in my system. Also, If i open the file directly from folder it gives me fatal error. so i have open CAD window first and then i have to open my drawings.

Can I do this by just changing the block ID? or do I need to go through and grab all the info from the old block and insert a new block with the attribute values and then delete the old block.
I remember back in 8 or 9 when you could use the scroll mouse to "scroll". But in 11 or 12 it changed to "zoom".there is a way to change it back to scroll?

I have drawn a bar counter in 3d which has a top rectangular shape with curved corners. The front of the bar has 100mm wide wooden fascia panels and they need to follow the line of the bar. I am using the Polar Array function which works great except I cant seem to get the panels to follow the curves/arcs around the corners, but they sit neatly on all the straight edges of the bar. So in other words the panels are straight and lined up on the straight parts of the bar but the panels stay at 90 degrees instead of following the curved areas of the bar.

View 2 Replies View Relatedhow annotative objects function through xrefs and am running into some trouble.I created a brand new drawing, made an annotative symbol and 2 peices of annotative text, all three have 1"=20' and 1"=40' assigned to them. I can switch my scale back and forth and the objects act as they should.
If creat a second drawing and xref the first one, the only way I can see these xref'd objects is if I set ANNOALLVISIBLE to "1" or if I select one of their xref scales as the current scale 1"=20'_Xref or 1"=40'_Xref.
My goal is to be able to have plans that are annotative that can be xref'd into another annotative drawing and have the objects in both that are the same scale show up.
I am running AutoCAD 2011 on Windows 7 via BootCamp. The Delete Key does not function to erase lines. I have set Pickfirst to 1 and ensured Noun/Verb is checked on. I have tried pressing just the Delete key and also FN Delete, which is the correct combination for Delete on the MacBook Pro keyboard.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem with the perpendicular function when I draw a line. It won't lock at a single point, instead it moves along an axis.
For example, when I want to draw a line in Y direction it moves in the X axis, and opposite if I draw in the X direction.
How can I make the perpendicular function lock to one position?
Layer manager keep loosing the icons that represent a function. When you open layer manager, there are some icons on top of the layer manager page, one functions as make layer current, the other one to create a new layer & so on. these icons after a few time that we use layer command they all disappear, the only way to fix it is to close autocad & open it again. Of course if we use classic layer manager then things are ok but classic layer manage rhas uts own problems & limitations also.
My own guess is that the commad "layer" which invoke layer manager has memory leak, & when it is used a few time basically makes your system works on less memory resources & the only way to fix it is to abort the operation & start every thing all over again.
e.g. 25,00mm instead of 25.00mm.
I have a huge list of drawings I need to apply this update to. Updating Styles isn't really an option as we haven't enough consistency in the styles we have used.

View 9 Replies View RelatedIn CS4, I could crop a larger picture to a size such as 9"x12" without actually resizing it, just eliminating the unwanted areas. It seems this is no longer possible as now when cropping, the positions on the rulers are not marked as I determine the crop size. So I can set the size to be 9x12, and whatever crops will expand to that, I assume with interpolated pixels and possible detail loss.
If unconstrained is used, then you don't know what the size will be till the crop is done and it realigns with the rulers.
Before, I could either enter the numbers, such as 6" 8" 300dpi, if I wanted to enlarge a smaller image, as I still can do now. But also, with CS4, I had made a preset with no numbers, similar to unconstrained, but with the positions showing on the rulers, so I could draw to whatever size I wanted, within a larger image, so when a crop was made, area was removed but there was no re figuring of the size. This is more like cutting out a picture on paper, while now it seems only a stretching of the area can be done.
This seems absolutly silly.

I'm trying to build a command to replace AutoCAD's "DI" command, to give distance and delta x, y, and z values in decimal and imperial, and keep the angles in XY plane and out of XY plane.
Will AutoCAD convert standard to metric with the push of a button? Do you have to convert them manually? If the answer is yes which versions will?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have just recently upgraded to 2013.I have one color in particular that use dto be grey - now it is red. I have repaired the appearance so it looks correct in a part. I was able to save this backto the library, overwriting the original. This is all good. I am unable to find out how to push this updated appearance to all parts in an assembly. I used to be able to do this with the update styles tool.
