I am running AutoCAD 2011 on Windows 7 via BootCamp. The Delete Key does not function to erase lines. I have set Pickfirst to 1 and ensured Noun/Verb is checked on. I have tried pressing just the Delete key and also FN Delete, which is the correct combination for Delete on the MacBook Pro keyboard.

I'm having trouble with the "extend" function on AutoCAD 2012 (windows). Randomly, the "extend" function will delete the lines I select. I sometimes will have to undo and re-input "extend" three to four times for it work properly.

View 1 Replies View RelatedA small feature I have been using for years, and find very useful, was changed in X6 Update 3. Using the Erase with the ALT key use to erase in a straight line from one point to another point. Now after installing Update 3 this key combination is used to interactively adjust transparency (a new feature according to the release notes).
Is the point-to-point erase feature gone or can I somehow adjust settings to get it back? Or is there now another key used for this?
Using CorelDraw Suite X6 with Update 3 on Windows 7 64bit.
Wblock when run from the command line used to erase the entities selected, now it seems it does not, but the dialog box shows an option to keep or erase the selected entities.
Any variable name that controls this functionality?
Working in AutoCAD™ 2012... Is there a way to "erase" an entity, line, etc. by selecting it and having it immediately disappear? I work in 3D/DXB files a lot and it really useful when working with an audience either for on-screen seminars or over-the-shoulder.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to remove col-erase lines from my sketches in Photoshop.I have Photoshop CS5 and my OS is Windows 7
1) Scan drawing and open in Photoshop
2) Go to channels and remove the other colours than the colour of the pencil (ex. remove green and blue if the colour is red)
3) Change the mode to Grayscale (and back to RGB/CMYK if you want to colour it)
My problem is.. that it only goes halfway. It looks fine until step three. When I change it to Grayscale, the col-erase lines come back, just in B/W and I need to erase them anyway.

I'm trying to change the dafault varible for the mirror command from no to yes. whne you do the mirror command after you choose your second point it asks if you want to erase the source object and the default is set to no but I would like to change it to yes. I'm able to change the macro for the mirror button which works but only when I push the button. Before the cui file I remember everything was done from the acad.pgp or the acad.mnu files but with the new CUI file i can't seem to locate wher to change the actual command and not just the macro for the mirror button.

I have a way of doing this by copying an object and placing it in the original position. Than subtract a single object leaving the copy of the object behind.
I wondered if there is a way to accomplish this with less steps.
I have only one user with this problem. He tries to edit an attribute block and when he selects one of the values and erases it the default value doesn't erase. He then has to enter some text and erase that and it works.

View 8 Replies View Relatedi am doing a simple project making a survey plot for a piece of land that will be broken into subdivision. all measurements are of my starting point. after plotting the starting point i try to draw line that is 113 feet long and at a bearing of N 5d W i have no problem entering this data but when i hit enter it draws a straight line. now i know 5 degrees is much of an angle so i thought maybe it just looked straight and tried to plot the next point which was 542 feet from the last point at a bearing of N 39d E but once again after i put the info in and hit enter or space it would plot a line of the proper length but vertical, not the proper angle i need it at. here is how i would put in the info:
first i choose the lne command and choose my "beginning point" as that starting point for my line then i type 113<N 5d W for the length and direction and hit enter. when i do this it plots a vertical line of the proper length but wrong angle. what am i doing wrong? i have ortho set to off and idk what else to mess with
I was trying for an option with wipeout mask.
Is there any option with wipeout to turn the continuous lines into dotted lines instead of hiding the object? I have been working on one staircase block, i want to show half block as a dotted lines.. is there any way to do that without going in to the block edit and change? thats why am looking for wipeout mask option.
I am having trouble trying to select certain lines in order to delete them.I am using AutoCAD 2009.
I am needing to import my map to a program to use.When I import the map the program is only showing the useable portion of the map in the top right corner because there are some invisible objects hidden at the edge of the .dwg file. When i hit cntrl+a, these show up but otherwise I can't select them. I would like to know how to make these items selectable so i can delete them.
I have drawn a bar counter in 3d which has a top rectangular shape with curved corners. The front of the bar has 100mm wide wooden fascia panels and they need to follow the line of the bar. I am using the Polar Array function which works great except I cant seem to get the panels to follow the curves/arcs around the corners, but they sit neatly on all the straight edges of the bar. So in other words the panels are straight and lined up on the straight parts of the bar but the panels stay at 90 degrees instead of following the curved areas of the bar.

View 2 Replies View Relatedhow annotative objects function through xrefs and am running into some trouble.I created a brand new drawing, made an annotative symbol and 2 peices of annotative text, all three have 1"=20' and 1"=40' assigned to them. I can switch my scale back and forth and the objects act as they should.
If creat a second drawing and xref the first one, the only way I can see these xref'd objects is if I set ANNOALLVISIBLE to "1" or if I select one of their xref scales as the current scale 1"=20'_Xref or 1"=40'_Xref.
My goal is to be able to have plans that are annotative that can be xref'd into another annotative drawing and have the objects in both that are the same scale show up.
i have problem with my cad. When i push in scroll button in old settings i saw hand (pan function) and it was easy to move. Now when i push in scroll button i see cross with arrows and moving where i want is difficult. How can i change it (i want use pan function when i push in scroll).

Basically, instead of being one continuous line, their endpoints intersect and overlap, making it look very messy. Is there anyway I could delete these extra lines? For example, when I want to draw a line in Y direction it moves in the X axis, and opposite if I draw in the X direction.
How can I make the perpendicular function lock to one position?

View 6 Replies View RelatedLayer manager keep loosing the icons that represent a function. When you open layer manager, there are some icons on top of the layer manager page, one functions as make layer current, the other one to create a new layer & so on. these icons after a few time that we use layer command they all disappear, the only way to fix it is to close autocad & open it again. Of course if we use classic layer manager then things are ok but classic layer manage rhas uts own problems & limitations also.
My own guess is that the commad "layer" which invoke layer manager has memory leak, & when it is used a few time basically makes your system works on less memory resources & the only way to fix it is to abort the operation & start every thing all over again.
where various icons on your palettes just disappear? the function is still there, but no image. attached is an example where the "Add", "Delete" etc icons have gone. other times the on/off freeze/thaw images will be gone.
