AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Projecting Objects To Profile View And Showing Point Of Intersection
Nov 11, 2013Say I'm projecting some 3D polylines to a profile view I have, and the 3D polylines cross the alignment defining the profile view. Is there a way to format the projections such that the point of intersection is identified, and that the points will be updated if I change either the alignment or the 3D polylines?

May 2, 2013A user is having problems when using the copy command in AutoCAD 2013.
When they select objects, its not reporting on the commandline how many objects its found or keeping a running total of objects selected. Not even any duplications...
I've tested it on my machine but i cannot replicate the issue and have never come across this before!
Is it a bug? Is it a variable? User setting etc.
AutoCad :: Hatches Showing Through Objects
Jul 31, 2012The orange items in question are blocks and are just copies of each other. However, the grass hatch underneath shows through the left one and not the right one. I checked the properties of both blocks and they are identical except for x/y position.

Oct 23, 2013I have a drawing with objects on multiple layers, however when I select an object, they all show as whtever layer is showing. If I open the drawing on antoher machine, everything works properly with multiple layers.

Aug 12, 2013I've recently started having a problem where some objects that I edit or insert, such as blocks, only show in white. The photo I show is an example. I recently used viewport clip in order to add in the detail shown on the top right, and when I did so, the viewport went white, and it has since not changed. It is supposed to show in yellow, as shown with the other viewports. When I change to "bylayer" it is white, and when I manually change it, it stays white. As shown, I've changed it manually to cyan, and it remains white.
I think this may be an obsucre system variable problem, but I'm not sure where to start.
AutoCAD 2013 :: Showing Annotation Objects
Feb 28, 2013Showing annotation objects, I’m wondering how the two options “show annotation objects for current scale only” & “show annotation objects for all scales” introduce the same result (attached)! Despite the fact that these annotation objects are assigned to other scales (attached)
In these two cases, the only displayed annotation objects are those related to the current scale! Not all the annotation objects are displayed!
AutoCAD Architecture :: XRef Objects Not Showing In Drawing
Dec 11, 2013I have a drawing done in AutoCAD Architecture 2013. Most of it is just lines, but I have a couple of Walls with Doors. It looks fine in the base drawing but when I xref into another file the walls revert to their original color and the doors have disappeared. The opening is there but no door.
I tried xredit and the doors are there but when I close that they are gone again. Tried detaching and reattaching...still have the problem.
After I posted this tried Display Configuration. Clicking all options for Doors gives me the doors...in a closed position, not the same as in the base plan.
AutoCad :: Why Drawing Open Without Number Of Objects (text) Showing
Apr 17, 2012why a drawing would open without a number of objects (text) showing? I open it up and all notes are gone, yet another user opens it up in "eDrawings" and it opens fine. Oddly, when in ACAD I click OPEN, the preview ACAD gives me when I click this file once shows the missing text etc. But when I open it they're missing.

AutoCad 3D :: Round Objects Showing Multiple Flat Faces?
May 29, 2012i'm trying to learn about AutoCAD, today i was trying to create a Glass cup, i've created it with REVSURF, at my first try it got square with only SIX faces, so after some seraching, i was told to set "SURTFTAB1" and "SURFTAB2" to a higher number like 18, so i configured them to 36... After that, the cup was looking pretty good and round, but then, i rendered it, at the highest quality "Presentation". But the cup continues to show the flat little faces, i would like to know if it's normal or am i doing something wrong? maybe i should do it with a circle and then press/pull it with a smaller circle on the top?

Jan 17, 2012I am having a problem with grid lines showing up in my print out from autocad, but only in the viewport that has 3D objects in it and displayed in conceptual mode or realistic mode. Don't know what is causing them or how to get rid of them. They do not show up on my screen or in the print preview. They only show up in the final prints and even when printing to a pdf file format. I have printed the same drawing out from other computers that have Autocad 2009 and do not get that problem. My computer has Autocad 2010. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Autocad but that doesn't work.

May 21, 2012some of my outlined fonts are showing up as "unpainted objects" in the cleanup function, yet when i click on them individually they show that they have a fill color. There have been other occasions where i had an outlined font which "looked" like it had a fill color, yet when i clicked on one of the letters it showed both the fill and stroke as having none.

Aug 30, 2012Right now, the only way I know of being able to see Civil grading objects (surface contours, spot elevations, slopes, etc) while using plain vanilla AutoCAD is to explode everything and export to a lower version.
I'm trying out a trial of AutoCAD 2013 to test things, and my Civil drawing shows up as boxes/text when xrefed into another drawing without doing the task above.
I'm looking for a more efficient way to see grading using AutoCAD (not Civil). Civil is expensive, and I'd like to downgrade the drafters who don't know how to use the Civil functions (and never will), but still need grading to show as a dynamic xref in the background of the drawings they're working on. Problem is, if I have to explode and export my drawing every time I want to update the grading xref in their drawing, it wastes more time than I'd like.
Is this the only way and I have to live with it, or am is there an easier way that I haven't dug up yet? I know I'm not an expert at Civil, so I may be going about this all wrong.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Pipe Network Not Showing Up?
Apr 10, 2013I have lost the ability to create a pipe network in a single drawing. Sorta. I can create a pipe network, and label it, and see it in my toolspace, but it won't display it for any style in any format. I can bring in a data reference and label those, but can not see pipe or structure outlines or anything to that end. I have tried to recover, audit, purge. I am at the end, currently creating the pipe network, data referencing it in, and then just drawing lines between the labels.

I created my surface from the contours but when i try to label them with elevations, nothing. I label them by contour-mulitple with interval. All that is inserted are tic marks at the designated interval.

Jan 3, 2013We recently received a LiDAR data in the form of an .asc file. Brought it fine into Civil 3d.
However, the level data is in mm so levels are showing as 98450 instead of 98.45. The level ranges from 98450 to 166260.
When I create a surface and set the style to show contours, it only displays contour lines below 100,000. Is this a limit in Civil 3D or am I missing some setting somewhere? I'm using the UKIE template btw.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Sub-assembly Not Showing In Corridor?
Mar 25, 2013I have created a corridor of an exit ramp. Part way through the corridor, the left side slope isn't generated.
The subgrade doesn't exist. In the Sideslope to no side slope.png image that the corridor has a side slope and ditch at 10+600. Also in the 10+600.png image. But at 10+610 there is no side slope. There is OG surface out far enough, but it seems that in the 10+610.png image that there isn't enough OG surface. Orignally there was survey data missing in this area and it was added after the fact to the OG surface. Why doesn't the corridor recognize it, if that is the case. I have updated and syncronized the heck out of everything, but it still doesn't seem to work.
I should point out that this is in meters (the cross sections are 10m apart) and that it is the same Assembly being used for this area. Also all targets are consistant through this area as well.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: TIN Triangles Showing Up On PDF - 2012 SP2.1
Aug 15, 2012Whenever I try to use the "DWG to PDF.pc3" driver, I'm getting TIN triangles in my PDF. They don't show up in the "Print Preview", just in the resulting PDF. They also don't show up if I print directly to a printer. Only in the PDF. Never saw this before installing SP2.1.

Aug 1, 2013I can’t seem to manage to get the profile working, the assembly seems to look ok but it doesn’t show on the profile!
The assembly just follows the line of existing ground and does not show the height of the assembly (barrier). Also, if you take a quick section through the alignment/corridor it shows the assembly but doesn’t show it fully?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: PDF Attachment Showing Bars?
Oct 7, 2013I've attached a PDF to my drawing and when I zoom in a bit it shows horizontal bars all over the PDF. The bars show up when printing as well. This is the first time it has ever happened to me.
My PDF Underlay contrast is set to 100, fade to 0, monochrome No, and Adjust colors for background Yes.

Oct 29, 2012I'm currently making a profile view where i want my features/objects to be shown in the bands for chain age elevation etc.
I have fences footpaths & vegetation lines that i can show in my profile view by 'projecting objects to profile view', but i was wondering if I could show these in the bands instead as it would be more convenient.
From what i can see in my bands I can label at Major Stations, Minor Stations, Horizontal Geometry Point, Vertical Geometry Point, Station Equation & Incremental Distance.
