Existing surface profiles not showing in xref. Constantly have to reload xref for profile to show. Even on opening drawing, reloading xref is required.

I am having some issues with surface profiles on a dreffed alignment no updating dynamically.
Currently it requires me to set them to static, then back to dynamic and they update.
I am well aware of the issue of dreffed surface profiles staying static. I am using the work around of dreffing in the surface and sampling in the drawing using the dreffed alignment.

I am simply xref'ing a profile drawing into a sheet drawing to print out. AS shown on the attached, when the profile comes into the xref I lose all the band data and the EG line does not come in as a dashed 2 line as the layer is set to. It almost looks as if the PL linetype generation is off for this line.

Everything is fine in Model Space...but when I create the viewport in Paper Space none of the annotative text of the profile/section shows up...or is microscopic.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a couple of files with DS surfaces that I cut profiles with and all was fine until today. the surface ref is in the drawing but does not display. If I zoom to it goes to a location not related to the site but there is no display of the surface (all layers and style set to display) this is what view props shows. notice the odd serial number for the data source. through tools space I deleted the refs and re-refed and sampled, but when I close and go back its gone again.

Is there a way to show a corridor assembly in a crossing profile in c3d 2012? I have a underground duct bank that I have modeled using a simple corridor. Now I want to have the duct bank assembly show up in another profile that crosses the ductbank corridror. I can't really create a surface fom the corridor since the duct bank a closed polygon. BTW, The subassembly for the duct bank was created from a polygon, if that is any useful info.

I am having troubles showing the green, cyan and yellow color. when i print preview it doesnt show nothing. The true color is on RGB.
I attach an xref to a drawing, plan profile, and align the parts of the xref in each viewport the way I want them to appear.
The host drawing is a generic plan profile sheet border. The viewports are set to the same scale same annotative scale, and are undefined, not a plan or profile viewport. I save the drawing and get out of cad all together. I restart cad and open the drawing. The plan view viewport is visible and the xrefs are also. In the profile viewport nothing is visible or only one line is visible. Items in the view port are viewable, not frozen in the viewport, not turned of. The annotative scale is exactly the same for all viewports as is the xref drawing.I am xrefing a civil 3d 2011 aliment and profile drawing into these sheets. The only way to see the xref in the view ports is to detach and reattach the xref. To make things worse this does not happen to all drawings that are using the border that I used to create this drawing set.
Can I somehow xref a surface into a drawing and use it to create profiles, sections, gradings etc?

So I made viewframes in my base file which I then xrefed my base file into my sheet file. In my sheet file, the viewframes are no where to be seen. The layer is on, set to plot, has an off color so I know I should see them.
Also if I data reference them in they again do NOT show up. But I can do a Zoom to and I end up at 0,0.
I've got a drawing that contains an XREF. I've got a field reading the viewport object's Custom scale>Use scale name. However, whenever the drawing is loaded up all of the XREF's scales get imported. Since they contain the same scales, the field changes to read the XREF scale instead of the one it was set to. They are the same scale, but the field reads the XREF one first. Here is a screenshot showing what I'm talking about. Notice that the viewport's properties never show the scale as 1:20_XREF, but the field does.
I've been having to click "show all scales", do a SCALELISTEDIT, remove the XREFs, then do a UPDATEFIELD. I have to do this every time the drawing is open. It stays that way until C3D is closed. This becomes a problem when I go to PUBLISH a sheet set. If I haven't opened all the sheets in the sheet set and changed the scale list then they all get the wrong scale list shown.

I used a 2d polyline to create a surface boundary for a surface created. The polyline is a closed loop. For the boundary type it is outer, unchecked Non-destructive breakline, and mid-ordinate distance = 1.
My problem is that when I do this I only get a small portion of the surface to show up within my surface boundary. If I don't have a surface boundary the entire drawing surface shows up no problem.
The purple polyline is my boundary and the light blue is the surface created within the boundary.
I have the profile of my pressure network and storm crossings converted into ellipses but I can't get my surface to show on the profile to show the amount of cover I have between the existing ground and top of pipe.

The cross sections show the EG, FG and Corridor. Yet the Corridor is NOT ON the FG surface.
This is only happening on one section (0+20). The other sections look good.
I have a profile showing proposed storm sewer, existing sanitary, rock surface, existing surface, and proposed profile. Today for some reason the proposed profile and labels, and the existing surface are not showing on the profile and I'm not sure what has changed or how to get them back.

When I modify the XREF file either by turning off/freezing hatch layers, or even deleting certain objects, the changes do not show in my drawings despite reloading the modified XREF when prompted by ACAD.

Here the xref background is still visible. However, when i choose plot-->full preview I can't see the xref, only the other lines I've created. I'm using a HP designJet 500 in ISO A1 and have the following plot option selected:plot lineweights, plot with plot styles, plot paperspace last.
The drawing is pretty useless without the map
I am using Autocad LT 2013 and Autocad Architecture withing the same office. When I open a file that has an Xref from Autocad Architecture with 3D walls in Autocad LT, the walls only show as 1 line instead of 2. If I open the orginal file that the Xref came from, with Autocad LT the walls show up just fine (as blocks instead of 3d walls as I expected). I am hoping to be able to veiw the Xrefs correctly in Autocad LT.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a model space with a few XREF drawings. I have a layout with a viewport of these drawings. All seemed fine until I imported another drawing using XREF. I went to adjust this viewport and it is not showing the new drawing that has been imported into model space (I can see the three drawings that were there but the new one will not appear) to you have to like "reload" a viewport or something? (From my understanding viewports alwasys stay current with model space)

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing done in AutoCAD Architecture 2013. Most of it is just lines, but I have a couple of Walls with Doors. It looks fine in the base drawing but when I xref into another file the walls revert to their original color and the doors have disappeared. The opening is there but no door.
I tried xredit and the doors are there but when I close that they are gone again. Tried detaching and reattaching...still have the problem.
After I posted this tried Display Configuration. Clicking all options for Doors gives me the doors...in a closed position, not the same as in the base plan.
The camera profiles are not visible in the camera calibration menu in the develop module of Lightroom 4. I installed them using the installer that came with the profiles. What folder are they supposed to be in so I can use them (Windows 7 x64)? Where is the documentation?
View 11 Replies View RelatedWe have a drawing with an xRef in model space and it is exposed through a paperspace viewport.
While in PS, we activate the viewport so that we can then select the xRef and with that done, we right-click on the mouse and now we have the issue.
On all computers but one, we see the pop-up menu on the left of the attached pic, but on that one computer we see the menu on the right. The difference is marked off in red and as you can see, the section with the xRef options is missing for that one guy. Why?
We are all using the same enterprise customization file and each user has their own main customization file. I have checked his main customization file and don't see anything that would be causing this.
When I try to print to my Epson PRO 3800, asking Photoshop to handle colors, this printer profiles are not available. I have this printer for years and have always used PS CS3 to print (and handle colors).
Now I have PS CS5 but continue to use 3 for printing to the 3800, because the Epson profiles disappeared from CS5. Now they have disappeared from CS3 too.
I cannot seem to see the custom Printer Profiles I have for certain papersin the Print Dialog.I have added the Print Profiles to Library > Application Support > Adobe > Color > Profiles (and also in Recommended)
But in the Print Dialog under Colour Management > Photoshop Handles Colour > Print Profile - they are not showing. I have done things like restarting Photoshop and converting the image to CMYK from RGB.
I can see the profiles in the Proofing menu and am able to select them.without using the profiles my colour management is completely off kilter.Also, can I confirm that I am putting the printer profiles in the correct folder?
I've spent hours trying to figure this out, but to no avail. I'm running LR 4.3. I have a Nikon D600 but am not able to see any profiles for it at the following path: C:ProgramDataAdobeCameraRawCameraProfiles. It is my understanding that the D600 is now fully supported, yet I don't have the profiles for it in the Profiles folder (or anywhere else for that matter). What am I missing? Where are the D600 profiles?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI often have to do storm pond surfaces that (for the purposes of planning) are flat on the bottom. These surfaces are created from a combination of survey data and grading groups and the tin of these surfaces is perfectably acceptable. However, when contours are shown, the flat bottom is shown with contours jig-jagging all over the place.
The attached image shows a comparison of the same pond. The top was created with survey data and grading groups; the bottom was created using contour data only. The generated surface on the top shows the bottom contour going in different directions and has parts where the an expected contour is missing.
How to correct/manipulate the surface to show a proper flat surface?
Has instances where you set your tolerance for the maximum triangle lenth to say 50m to reduce the amount of triangles along the edge that run at long distances. When I do this I end up with multiple surface holes and I'm not sure why as there are points in the area.
I thought well maybe it's because i should've reduced my max triangles first then added breaklines. Would this matter? I also thought I could add a line to the surface to fix the holes vs. deleting surface lines along the entire edge of a surface for many many miles.
I am trying to add points into a surface. I have done this before without any problems, but now I am having issues.
When I ID points which makes up the surface it gives me the correct Z level e.g. 24.5m, however when I hover over the surface it shows me the surface name and a different z level e.g. 0.65m. What is the reason for this difference in z levels? I think this may be causing the issue I am having when I add new points.
I select the surface and use the 'edit surface command' in the ribbon, choosing add point.
When I add a point at the level I require(23.89m), it puts it in a lot higher than the surrounding area, so I tried to put the point in to the lower z levels (0.4m) it puts it in a lot lower!
