I'm trying to import a .tif image into autocad 2013 this image I clipped in ArcMap 10.1 and reprojected. The size of the image that I can't import is 36.6 mb, but I can import a MrSIDs image size is 611 mb into AutoCAD this is the error message that I get when I try an import the smaller image. "this file is an unknown format or invalid for images"
View 5 RepliesHave developed a problem trying to load some TIF images into Photoshop. I have a large number of images archived over a decade or more. At this point it may some of the older files that exhibit the problem.
Now all these files were edited and stored using the Photoshop versions during the complete time period. The files are always saved with no compression. Have tried to load from Photoshop and clicking on the file in a file list. Photoshop just hangs and I get the message Program not responding. I can take these same files and load them into the ROXIO photo editor with no problem. Stranger yet is if I simply load the file into the ROXIO editor then "save as" back into the same folder (overwrite) the file can then be brought into Photoshop with no problem!
I am cleaning up the Hard Drive on my Mac G4. My scanned images are taking a great portion of the 80 Gig drive. I finished clearing my external drive by removing nearly 60 gigs of images by storing them on DVD. I will do the same for the Mac drive.
My trouble is that all my images are stored in TIFF format which takes up enormous space no matter the storage. Since I output images in various sizes, mainly prints, to 30 x 40 inches, I need a master image archived in the best format for such. However, I do not want to fill my drives, or DVD, with large files. Code:

I am trying to bring in a couple of Tiff Images into autocad civil 3D. The issue is when I preview the image its in color, however when I insert it into Autocad it is black and white. Is there a way to change the image in Autocad to show up in color?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI downloaded/installed the PPA for Gimp 2.9.1. It worked great for the first half dozen 16-bit tiffs.I use a few RAW converters to create these tiff tiles, RawTherapee, UFRAW, and the Sony software supplied with my A700 DSLR, Image Data Converter running through Wine.
At any rate, most of the tiffs I create now cause Gimp to crash when opening new files. I get this message: Plug-in crashed: "file-tiff-load" and Opening '/home/caruso/Desktop/PHOTOS from IDC/DSC06219.tif' failed:
Files created previously continue to open as normal.
I was so thrilled to have succeeded in installing 2.9.1 on my system, but now may have to uninstall it and fall back to 2.8.x.I realize that 2.9.1 is experimental and unstable, but would like to know if this is something simple that can be fixed.

I've inserted several TIF images into my model space, toggled the frames of the TIF's then attempted to print them out in paper space. When I view or print/plot the images are missing. I've downloaded the raster inabler to no avail.
My Raster images TIFF are not printing although they show up in the print preview. They are attached as exernal referneces, loaded and the layers are set to plot. I would like them to plot. Autocad Map 2011

I can load them as an xref but then at times that the image will not load. it seems to have lost the file path. Also when I send dwg to other draftsman outside-- the tiff image will not load what is the trick to have the tiff image move with dwg no matter what drive its on or where its going.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have problem printing tiff images with a picture in Windows 7, 64 bit only on a laser printers. The processing of even the simplest of drawings to the printer takes too long, more than half an hour after that or stop with the press or to print only part of the drawing.
This problem does not appear when we print only the tiff images on a laser printer or print the entire drawing to a plotter. Also print these drawings with the tiff images without any problems under the previous operating system (XP). Note that we use the latest drivers for all printers.

I've been opening my RAW images in Irfanview, converting them to .tif images, and then opening the .tif images in GIMP for processing, but I've been getting a pop-up window (see screenshot) that says:
"Calling error for procedure 'gimp-image-set-resolution': Image resolution is out of bounds, using the default resolution instead."
What does that message mean?
I cannot save images in jpg or tiff. I am using a Mac.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI am using the map connect command to import a geotiff file to NAD83 coordinates. Â After import, the image displays correctly at the correct location, however my xref manager indicates that the image file location is in my local app folder within the C drive on my computer even though I specified the target base file on our network server. Â Â I also noticed the map connect function converts the files to a png file. Â
Because the image link resides on my computer others cannot view the image when they open the drawing. Â I don't fully understand how the map connect function works, do I need to use the map insert command if I want the image to be hard linked into the drawing?
I don't seem to find a way to plot to a tiff file. Is there a driver I'm missing? I have and use often "DWG to PDF", but someone has asked us for everything to be in TIFF format.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to work with TIFF images got from Image Pro Plus butGIMP 2.8 doesn't open them, I found that's a problem related to Image ProPlus because misses some tags. Also, I tried with ImageMagick using:
convert "prueba 1.tif" "prueba 1.png"
convert "prueba 1.tif" "prueba 2.tif"
The first works fine, just with some warnings, PNG image was createdsuccesfully.
The second doesn't work and in any case if I do:
convert "prueba 1.tif" -identify
got:

I like to repair books with missing pages. Often I can get digital images in tiff or PDF format, but they are often 'dirty', like the one attached. This one seems a good example of the sort of thing I would need to work on.
I need to reconstruct the image, which I think would mean:
i) getting an image that is complete and rectangular with a bleed out of in the same colour.
ii) remove blemishes like library marks, names etc.
iii) reconstruct the decayed text as sensitively as possible.
I need to insert a georeferenced TIF file into 3d.
I tried MAPIIMAGE and the image came in the middle of no where. It does have a tfw file.
The settings of the drawing are set at US feet NAD 29 PA N
I can't get the map workspace to come up.Â

I have verified that another cui of the same name is not already loaded.
I was trying to open an image that had already been processed by me in CS6 on this laptop.

When i select the image that i want to open CS6 launches but then i recieve an error message saying that CS6 is unable to open the image. Frustatlingly this does not happen with every image.
One person has said to reinstall the software but i downloaded it from the Adobe site and don't wnt to end up paying twice.

Is this a known issue with a fix in the works?
I have just recently run into a problem with my CS3 Photoshop. When I try to go through File> Open and choose a .jpg .gif and even .psd file I get an error message saying: ' could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document.' When I open in Illustrator there is no issue. Or when I go directly to the file and use Open with, then direct it to Photoshop it opens fine. However, if I need to open another image file I get the error message again.
