I'm having problems with tiff images. I can load them as an xref but then at times that the image will not load. it seems to have lost the file path. Also when I send dwg to other draftsman outside-- the tiff image will not load what is the trick to have the tiff image move with dwg no matter what drive its on or where its going.
View 1 RepliesI am cleaning up the Hard Drive on my Mac G4. My scanned images are taking a great portion of the 80 Gig drive. I finished clearing my external drive by removing nearly 60 gigs of images by storing them on DVD. I will do the same for the Mac drive.
My trouble is that all my images are stored in TIFF format which takes up enormous space no matter the storage. Since I output images in various sizes, mainly prints, to 30 x 40 inches, I need a master image archived in the best format for such. However, I do not want to fill my drives, or DVD, with large files. Code:
how can i view all of a 200mb tiff file of scanned images in Ps? "windows photo viewer" opens all 5 pages of the tiff file. Ps appears to only open the first page of images. how can i view all 5 pages of images in Ps.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWorking in BRidge and Photoshop CS6:I have 160 color adjusted hi-res CR2 RAW files from my photographer, thought I was getting tifs. I need tifs for my INdesign file. I tried using the photoshop image proecessor through brige by selecting all my images and then saving as TIFFs but I am losing all my color correcting? Is there a way to save these out as tiffs as a group and not one at a time? I also might have lost my color correcting when I copies them all to one folder as well...not sure what is happening except now my great product shots look like crap.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI want to embed a Tiff (raster image) in my drawing without using Attach, Xref or as an OLE object. I've done a fair amount of searching but haven't found the "correct" answer.
I'm using AutoCAD Map 3D 2012 on a company system. I create hybrid drawings by attaching a pdf or tiff but it requires a path to the graphic object, which makes things very difficult on a highly managed server system. If the drawing is moved to a different location, the image doesn't move with it and now the hybrid drawing is blank. As such, the image must be embedded without an external path.
I can't use etransmit. I can't use an OLE. I was told about IEMBED and I actually managed to make it work (once) but can't recreate it. I haven't been able to find a useful procedure or instructions for IEMBED.
I am working on pdf file, in which all the assets has been created in illustrator. I am opening that file in illustrator, and by save for web option exporting the images. But somehow the images as not proper. There are some colour related issues and also the images are not proper.
Is there any other way around so that I can extract those without loosing the quality ?
I am using PSE 12 as an external editor for Aperture. When I ask to use an external photo editor, Aperture creates a .tiff file in my Aperture folder, launches PSE 12 and tells it to edit that .tiff file. This all works great. When I am done editing in PSE 12, I ask it to save the file and it saves it back to the original Aperture folder with a .tif extension. I can instead say "save as" and then it suggests the file name with a .tif extension. When I correct the extension to .tiff it warns me that I'm going to overwrite the file (exactly what I want!). I say yes and then I find out that PSE did not overwrite the file, but wrote it as a .tif file anyway. I have to go to the folder, delete the .tiff file and rename the .tif file to .tiff and then everything is fine - but what a hassle.

When attach image (tif) with no path. is saved, de image will be saved without a path. dir. Only when we change the image (with RasterCAD) when we now save the drawing the hole path dir. will be saved.
When we used AutoCAD 2006 this will not be the case. The tiff. will stay no path. We move/copy drawing with image to other dir. very often.

I was trying to make a logo and for doing as I sketched it I thought Offset path will do. But unfortunately it didnt. By using this feature repeatedly the shape is losing its initial form. This is what I want (as concept) but as you can see the shapes don't have the same form as the original cloud:
I know is almost impossible to make this without any distortion, but I was wondering if there is any other methond with less shape deformation.
I found this error a bit strange, my colleague it trying to save a file and this error keeps on coming out (see attachments). When we try to save it, it only saves as a temp file. When we try to open up the temp file and try to save it, it still doesn't allow us to do. Also, when we cancel the save, the original file will be gone and he will lost all of his data. Below are the specs of the computer and version of the AutoCAD.

OS: Windows 7 Ult
AutoCAD Version: 2011
Also, we're using ProSteel Series 3 as well. We tried saving the file using ProSteel and just AutoCAD but it didn't do the trick. I've tried some options (listed below) that might get it to work but still no luck.
1. Restart the computer.
2. Repair / Reinstall AutoCAD.
3. Give permission to the folder (read from the forum).

I've inserted several TIF images into my model space, toggled the frames of the TIF's then attempted to print them out in paper space. When I view or print/plot the images are missing. I've downloaded the raster inabler to no avail.
im losing all my images from "my pictures" as soon as I transfer them to lightroom 4 only to find that I have lost the folder in lightroom as well. then I have to go into the past month collections what can I do to stop this, does it have something to do with transfering colomn

The size of the image that I can't import is 36.6 mb, but I can import a MrSIDs image size is 611 mb into AutoCAD this is the error message that I get when I try an import the smaller image. 2. There are so many plug ins for paint.net I don't even know where to start O_O what I'm looking for however, besides what I listed above is this: A free-form rotate tool, A mirror/flip tool and other basic things like that.

I have problem printing tiff images with a picture in Windows 7, 64 bit only on a laser printers. The processing of even the simplest of drawings to the printer takes too long, more than half an hour after that or stop with the press or to print only part of the drawing.
This problem does not appear when we print only the tiff images on a laser printer or print the entire drawing to a plotter. Also print these drawings with the tiff images without any problems under the previous operating system (XP). Note that we use the latest drivers for all printers.
Bringing in 12mp images from Nikon camera and losing quality (blurry edges, low quality, etc). Is there a setting I can change or is this what we have to deal with on ps touch?

I have one basic metadata preset that I apply to images after they have been imported. I've noticed that on a regular basis, every single image in my library loses its applied metadata preset and it reverts back to "none". For the life of me I cannot figure out why this is happening and I don't know whether it's a bug or a feature.
My standard workflow is that after I import images, I select all the images in the new folder I have designated for those images and apply my specific metadata preset but it seems that a few days later or after I import new images, all metadata presets are gone again. I have noticed this issue with Lightroom 3 and again with Lightroom 4 after I have upgraded so I don't think it's related to a specific version.
How do I reduce my catalogue without losing the data attached to images?

View 2 Replies View RelatedOk i just installed Adobe Illustrator and want to convert some images i created in Photoshop to vector graphics so i can resize the image without it getting blurry. So i saved the image as a png file and opened in Illustrator. I chose high fidelity photo from the image trace menu and now the traced image is blurry. Here is what is happening.
The image is 300dpi png file format, i tried eps file format and same result. Resizing in Photoshop causes the images to get blurry, so i installed Illustrator to convert the images to vector graphics and resize without losing quality but this problem has now surfaced. How do i solve this?

I've been opening my RAW images in Irfanview, converting them to .tif images, and then opening the .tif images in GIMP for processing, but I've been getting a pop-up window (see screenshot) that says:
"Calling error for procedure 'gimp-image-set-resolution': Image resolution is out of bounds, using the default resolution instead."
What does that message mean?
I cannot save images in jpg or tiff. I am using a Mac.
View 10 Replies View RelatedWhenever I tell LR to edit a photo in PS (CS6), I get back a TIFF file that is 10X larger than the orginal RAW file, and I ultimetly delete it to save space (after first converting it to a jpeg). Why doesn't PS do LR style non-destructrive editing, i.e., why not simply return a record of the edits made in a format compatible with LR?

I'm on a help desk where we have several users who run Win7, but can't publish any projects that have a TIFF overlay. Let me correct that. It prints, but that TIFF overlay is not included.
They print to a Xerox 6204 Wide Format printer, and every single Win7 user has this problem (32 and 64 bit). The one person that still runs XP doesn't have this problem. This sounds like a driver problem to me, but we've reinstalled the drivers and still no change.

Have developed a problem trying to load some TIF images into Photoshop. I have a large number of images archived over a decade or more. At this point it may some of the older files that exhibit the problem.
Now all these files were edited and stored using the Photoshop versions during the complete time period. The files are always saved with no compression. Have tried to load from Photoshop and clicking on the file in a file list. Photoshop just hangs and I get the message Program not responding. I can take these same files and load them into the ROXIO photo editor with no problem. Stranger yet is if I simply load the file into the ROXIO editor then "save as" back into the same folder (overwrite) the file can then be brought into Photoshop with no problem!
