Lightroom :: Catalogue Losing Changes?
Jul 24, 2012 when I open Lightroom (4.1, Win7 64bit), it seems to revert to a previous time, losing recent changes, my last imports and edits, for example.
If I go to 'resynch folder', all my files are there, showing, say, 3,500 when my present catalog shows 3000. When I do resynch, all my labels, keywords etc edits are still present on both the 'missing' files and the ones still present in the catalog which had lost their edits.

Mar 1, 2011I am new to Paint.net, a friend recommended it to me because I told him I wanted to replace GIMP to try and fix a nagging issue with my sprite work.
2. There are so many plug ins for paint.net I don't even know where to start O_O what I'm looking for however, besides what I listed above is this: A free-form rotate tool, A mirror/flip tool and other basic things like that.
3. This is my main question, what I want to do that I can't do in Gimp is be able to Re-size, and rotate png/xcf images without losing data. I know Photoshop can do this in a way but Photoshop is expensive.
Does Paint.net have a similar feature to photoshop, and if so is it A plug-in? and if so which one

Nov 28, 2008how to disable the cropping tool from cutting out data on layers when you do want it keeping!... its ok if you don't.. but there are times when you want to crop an image and not lose that hidden data!
also why can't you drag n'drop layers to another document tab!! its stupid workflow not to mention all the other lacking areas of CS4 tabbed ui.. like mousewheel functionality.

Aug 26, 2013Before I upgraded to CS6 and ACR 8.1, LR would properly catalog the externally edited file and it would stack next to the original file.
But now, when I save the file in Photoshop, I would see that the filename change from RAW to Tiff, and the image would save into the source folder. However, there is no file of it in my LR catalog. I would have manually import the externally edited file into the catalog, which I'm sure this is not how it's supposed to work.
System:

Software Versions:
LR 5.0
CS 6.0.13
ACR 8.1.0.43
LR 5 External Editing Settings:
Edit in Photoshop CS6
Format: TIFF

Compression: none (I keep choosing LZW, but it apparently never remembers my pref)
"Stack with Original" is checked
Additional External Editor is not setup.
Lightroom :: Copying Folders But Not Images Into Another Catalogue
Apr 27, 2012I currently have two external hard drives where I have all my bird photos classified into folders by the name of the bird. There are more or less a hundred. I have one external hard drive where I import all the photos to and the other external where I backup the first external hard drive every night. They are getting full and I will soon have to purchase two more, but I was wondering how I could export all the folder hierarchy into the new external hard drive. It surely will be a chore to have to create each one again.

Jun 2, 2012I have one basic metadata preset that I apply to images after they have been imported. I've noticed that on a regular basis, every single image in my library loses its applied metadata preset and it reverts back to "none". For the life of me I cannot figure out why this is happening and I don't know whether it's a bug or a feature.
My standard workflow is that after I import images, I select all the images in the new folder I have designated for those images and apply my specific metadata preset but it seems that a few days later or after I import new images, all metadata presets are gone again. I have noticed this issue with Lightroom 3 and again with Lightroom 4 after I have upgraded so I don't think it's related to a specific version.
Lightroom :: Delete Backup Drive Images No Longer In The Catalogue?
Dec 10, 2012When I import images into Lightroom 4 I always automatically backup to my external drive. I then edit my images and usually end up rejecting about 1/3 to half of my images. I delete these permenantly from my PC and the L4 catalogue. BUT they still appear to remain on my backup drive which is now innevitably full. Is there a quick and easy way of deleting these rejected images or syning the master files with the catalogue to free up nearly half of my backup drive?

When I click on the See Adobe Technote button, I received the message that that file is unavailable from the Adobe Website. Mar 16, 2013I have been using Photoshop elements for many many years and am now looking to use Lightroom as an Interface.
At the moment, I have a Folder structure on my computer. At the Top I have Photos. Under Photos I have 43 additional Folders such as ( Cindi/Ivan Pictures, Cory & Jess Pictures, Barry & Janie Pictures, etc..) Now for each of these folders, such as Cory & Jess Pictures, I have a set of folders basically broken down by month/year. Now in a Given Month/Year Folder, I have a set of folders with each one containing the pictures of a given event that occurred ( birthday, trip, etc…). Guess my initial question is how do I get these pictures into a Lightroom Catalog and do I continue to use the same Structure.
Another example - Under the Barry/Janie Pictures Folder, one of the many Folders in this Folder is called Trips. Inside the Trips folder, I have folders for every major trip that Janie & I have taken since 2004 (21 different folders) (For example there is an Isreal Folder). The Israel Folder is made up of a set of folders, for each individual event or place that we visited during our Trip - i.e. 59 different folders. How would this Trips Folder be brought into Lightroom?

Dec 23, 2013Got the <Unexpected error opening catalogue> dialog when starting Lightroom 5.2. Will not allow me to save a new catalogue. Deleted old catalogue thinking that might prompt Lightroom to create a new catalogue or allow me to create and save a new one.Create Folder with New Catalogue allows me to enter a new catalogue name but then Select Catalogue dialog box is empty. Program wont open!

I have an AutoCAD drawing with a shapefile of all the imagery frames with object data attached to the frames. There is way too many images to have them all in the drawing and causes the drawing to be slow and sometimes crash. What I want to do is be able to select the frame or frames of the images I want to import based on the object data frame name and import them. Where do I start?

May 26, 2011VS9 enables users to virtually split clips by scene before adding them to the work space. It does not split the actual file but just keeps pointers to the various scenes. VS9 keeps this data in a file named scenedb.dat. However if the clip is moved to a different location then the scene information is not re-linked and is essentially lost (as far as VS is concerned) although the data is still in the scenedb.dat.
Is there any way to go around this problem and recover the scene info after a clip is moved?
That is, besides not moving the clips to a different folder than the one it was in when the scene data was first generated and/or re-generating the scen information?
I tried simple editing of the file path in the .dat file but this does not seem to work. It would be nice to understand the encoding rule for the scenedb.dat file to 1) update it 2) use it to generate some index db outside of VS (e.g. html page).
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Losing Superelevation Data When Editing An Alignment
Oct 29, 2013I have an alignment I need to edit that has a reverse curve. The first curve was made with the "Floating Curve (from entity, radius, through point)" and the second with "Free Curve Fillet (between two entities, radius)"
When I delete one or both curves i lose all the superelevation data beyond the editing location due to the temporary spit in the alignment. The superelevation data is all manual. This is a trail and the super is based on drainage not curves.
how to edit the alignment with a temporary split and not lose the superelevation data? I have not found a way yet to remove the reverse curves and not have a temporary gap.
Lightroom :: Exported JPG Images Has No EXIF Data
