View 3 RepliesI am using PSE 12 as an external editor for Aperture. When I ask to use an external photo editor, Aperture creates a .tiff file in my Aperture folder, launches PSE 12 and tells it to edit that .tiff file. This all works great. When I am done editing in PSE 12, I ask it to save the file and it saves it back to the original Aperture folder with a .tif extension. I can instead say "save as" and then it suggests the file name with a .tif extension. When I correct the extension to .tiff it warns me that I'm going to overwrite the file (exactly what I want!). I say yes and then I find out that PSE did not overwrite the file, but wrote it as a .tif file anyway. I have to go to the folder, delete the .tiff file and rename the .tif file to .tiff and then everything is fine - but what a hassle.

I have an STL-file that i need in an assembly to check if the machine that i'm building isn't to small.
I can import the STL-file in the assembly without problem, but i can't use constraints on it to put it in the correct place of my machine.
The STL-file isn't seen in the IDW - drawing.
I have a 3ds max file that the company i work for needs to get into inventor. I have tried exporting the file to .sat, .iges, and .dwg file an none have imported the assembly into inventor properly.

My trouble is that all my images are stored in TIFF format which takes up enormous space no matter the storage. Since I output images in various sizes, mainly prints, to 30 x 40 inches, I need a master image archived in the best format for such. However, I do not want to fill my drives, or DVD, with large files. Code:
I just wanted to know if you could make sketches in one part or file, somehow save it with a name, then open a new or existing part file and import that saved sketch. Is there a way to do this? Also, can you make blocks, as we could in AutoCAD, in Inventor?

I have come across a problem where I import a step file. And it brings in a false surface that is not supposed to be in the file. When I highlight the base of the solid it only highlights what it should (not the false surface). The surface cannot be extrude cut or removed.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to import the parameters from the .ipt file into the .iam file using a rule from iLogic (unless there is another way to do it?)
I pinched the code from the example hand rail iLogic part that comes with inventor and tweaked it to suit. After inputting the code shown in the image, when I click OK I get a 'fatal error' of some sort.
I need to Import a IAM file with Views and Positions to Showcase. I found several tutorials on this, but as soon as I add a position in Inventor none of the above are imported. Without any Positions, Views get Imported.
It's Inventor and Showcase 2013.
i have made a iLogic Module who, whit an external rules, import the iProperties value from an external exel file. The exel file is connected from SQL with the our managerial software. This in the external rule:
i = GoExcel.FindRow("Z:DISEGNI_INVENTORDescrizioni.xls", "Descrizioni", "Cod.Art.", "=", iProperties.Value ("Project", "Part Number"))iProperties.Value ("Project", "Description") = GoExcel.CurrentRowValue("Descr. Articolo Princ.")'iProperties.Value("Project", "Project")
[Code] .....
It's work fine but i have same question. There is some string to refresh an iLogic Module? When i push the ruel button the rule add the custom value in iProperties, but there are disabled, i have close the module an reopen it for correct display the value of the iProperties.
this module work with single parts. Can I do an rule who do the same thing of my string but in one assembly, do this for every parts of assembly automaticly??
I'm experimenting with a workflow, so whilst this may seem like an odd thing to want to make work, I have a genuine reason for doing what's described below:
I have Canon CR2 RAW files from a 7D, Photoshop CS6 13.01 64bit, with ACR 7.1.0.354, running on Windows 7 64bit.
1. I import a CR2 image via ACR, with no changes to any sliders; opening it as Adobe RGB (1998); 16bit
2. I then save the image as a TIFF file, leaving "ICC Profile: Abode RGB (1998)" selected in the Color section of the file save dialog
3. If I then close all files, and reopen the CR2 and TIFF image, they (as expected) appear to be identical
4. After closing all files again, I then open the CR2 and make an exposure adjustment (e.g. -1.00)
5. Using Bridge, I select the TIFF file, right click and select Open in Camera Raw. I make the same exposure adjustment as for the CR2
6. Now, the adjusted CR2 and adjusted TIFF are different. A colour shift is noticeable, and for a severe exposure change (i.e. +4.00) the shadow detail in the CR2 is a lot lighter
Here are two cropped areas from the files (with a 4 stop push), showing some branch/leaf and grass detail respectively. The TIFF has a greener colour cast for the grass, but much darker shadows:

RAW
The CR2 is still a RAW file, and as such has the original Bayer pattern data, but is there any way I can make ACR adjustments to a TIFF (taken from a CR2) to behave in the same way as the original CR2?
One of the common processes we have to do is to transilate file formats into a type we can use. Most the time it is for use in AutoCAD MEP...
Is there a good one-stop place to get info on import export options from / to softwares included in Autodesk Building Design Suite Ultimate?
if I create a new document, say A4, and then import a TIFF photo to that document, the photo appears much larger than my background A4 document. So, do I edit my photo and then export it as a TIFF again, or should I resize my background document from A4 to match the size of my photo before exporting? What I'm asking is that I don't want to lose the original size of my TIFF image, so when I export my image will CD save the TIFF image in it's original size or resize it to that of my created A4 document?

Whenever I tell LR to edit a photo in PS (CS6), I get back a TIFF file that is 10X larger than the orginal RAW file, and I ultimetly delete it to save space (after first converting it to a jpeg). Why doesn't PS do LR style non-destructrive editing, i.e., why not simply return a record of the edits made in a format compatible with LR?

I'm on a help desk where we have several users who run Win7, but can't publish any projects that have a TIFF overlay. Let me correct that. It prints, but that TIFF overlay is not included.
They print to a Xerox 6204 Wide Format printer, and every single Win7 user has this problem (32 and 64 bit). The one person that still runs XP doesn't have this problem. This sounds like a driver problem to me, but we've reinstalled the drivers and still no change.
