AutoCAD Inventor :: Import IAM File With Views And Positions To Showcase?
Sep 23, 2013
I need to Import a IAM file with Views and Positions to Showcase. I found several tutorials on this, but as soon as I add a position in Inventor none of the above are imported. Without any Positions, Views get Imported.
How to import the inventor studio animation to autodesk showcase? i have created the animation by inventor studio and i gonna record it as a movie but then i found that the movie quality is terrible and its take very very very long time to proceed if using inventor!
I have a question regarding display problems when I import my Inventor assembly into Showcase and try to apply ray tracing. The assembly file is now missing some part and does not display at all. The assembly file is model that has been designed with frame generator however some of these framed generated parts just don't display. The strange this is they do display in other less desired formats such as shaded etc but not when ray tracing.

I know this is not a Showcase forum however I can't seem to find one. I have a question about obtaining environment images files for use in Showcase. The help files state that images can be obtained from the Autodesk Consulting Team.

When I import my inventor model into showcase it sometimes recognizes the constraints in "behavior" but it never will "operate" the constraints in "behavior". I have made sure the constraint name matches the name in showcase and made sure the box is checked to import my constraints.
When I import an Inventor model to Showcase, bolted connections are missing the bolt. I get the washers and nuts but the bolt is gone. I can overcome this by saving the bolt part in a project folder but this is time consuming.
Are there some settings I am missing or is it just another item to add to the fixit list?
One of the enhancements in 2013 is that users can send models to Showcase and convert constraints into animated behaviors, however, some users wonder if there is any way to select constraints which are within the subassemblies instead of the top assembly, how would you do it?
I have selected constraints in subassemblies but they don't become behaviors. The workflow allows users to select them, but they aren't converted into behaviors.
When creating Views in .ipn files, using View Reps from .iam files, you get "Options" window where you can check Associative box, or leave it unchecked. How do yo get back to this window once the view is created?
Is it possible to create projection views of a solid model part? I want to make a front, top and right side view of the part in solid model form all on the same part file. I thought I could copy the part in each view but "help" says I can't copy a solid model.
In the drawing environment, is it possible to use the same file to show a client (example) option a or option b from the file? Meaning, can I create a separate side by side view in the idw using the same assembly file, but in different suppressed states? Or how does this work specifically? Right now all I have done is saved out the file with the different suppressed state showing, but this became obviously cumbersome quickly since the parts are similar and keep updating, thus forcing me to create yet even more optional files. I'm thinking that iLogic could be a possible fix.
I'm working on constructions that are operated with winches. However, I haven't found a way to model the wire so that it moves as it should.
I've attached a simplifed assembly that illustrates my issue.
In the "Master" position the wire looks as it should.
However, in the "Up" position, the wire does not. (red line indicates desired wire path)
I'm not interested in making the wire slack, just to have straight lines and radiuses around the sheave.
The actual constructions are much more complex, with 15+ sheaves and the wire moving in all three dimensions, not just in one plane as in the attached example. So a simple extrude cut on the assembly would not work.
I need the wire to work in the various set positions ("Master", "Up" & "Halfawy up") on an assebly level, so that it can be shown on drawings.
Optimally I'd love it to work in the "Flexible" position, so that it automatically adjusts (in real-time) as I move the rod, but it's not a requirement.
I've found multiple videos on Youtube showing something similar to what I want to accomplish, but no description of how it's done. Examples:
Inventor Simulation - Pulley and Cable.wmv
Winch - Autodesk Inventor (the wire being spooled onto the winch is not required, but it does look nice)
I have a 3ds max file that the company i work for needs to get into inventor. I have tried exporting the file to .sat, .iges, and .dwg file an none have imported the assembly into inventor properly.
I am testing out Inventor Pro 2011 and I need to find out how do I convert and exported xml file from CODEWARE into Inventor. I am going off this article
I have some trouble with extruding this autocad file after i have imported it in inventor. I have tried to make everything as a block but with the same result..
When trying to import a NX 7.5 assembly file into inventor, there is a lot of duplication of parts, missing parts, and scattering of other parts. Is there a way to successfully import an assembly from NX to inventor, if so does it include all the original sketches and feature history that created the parts, or is that not possible?
I have a problem when I import SAT file of a 3D model came from Revit architecture to Inventor. All colors disappear..I have already succeeded the exchange from Inventor to Revit with adsk file and rfd file format.
But, the exchange from Revit to Inventor is really hard for me.. I could just get gray colored geometry of model.Do you know any way to exchange with color?
