I have some Inventor models with decals applied in Inventor. However, when these models are imported into Showcase, the decals are missing.
I just can't find any info about this in Showcase or on Google.
When I import my inventor model into showcase it sometimes recognizes the constraints in "behavior" but it never will "operate" the constraints in "behavior". I have made sure the constraint name matches the name in showcase and made sure the box is checked to import my constraints.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I import an Inventor model to Showcase, bolted connections are missing the bolt. I get the washers and nuts but the bolt is gone. I can overcome this by saving the bolt part in a project folder but this is time consuming.
Are there some settings I am missing or is it just another item to add to the fixit list?
I have all my pipe decals in excel per ANSI standards (see attached). Do I realy have to create 64 separate files for each decal?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am trying to put a deck layout decal onto a surface. When selecting the decal command, inventor will only allow me to select the bottom surface and not the top one where I want the decal. is this achievable.
I can do it by flipping the normal and putting on a mirrored image for my decal but that seems like a lot of work
if you create a new part with a cube, sketch onto one of the surfaces and add an image, the decal will only attach to one of the availiable 2 surfaces
I have an elevation which requires stone panels to be installed. The elevation was created in a single part using the multi-body method. Photographs were taken of the stone slab and modified, it was turned into a BMP with a low res. of about 75. (Tried to keep everything small). As I begin to apply the texture of the stone with the decal method (due to proper positioning and scale size) Inventor starts to run very slow and pauses (Not Responding). The more decals I apply the more it stop working. I don't understand why this process is utilizing 7 GB of ram.

We use decals on some of our parts, but every time someone opens a part or an assembly with one of these parts, it wants to be updated. This only happens with parts that have decals on them. We use Vault and the constant updating of these parts is a pain, considering these parts have not been changed...
the .bmp is in the project workspace and vaulted. The link shows as resolved... MS Paint is the default editor...so what needs to be updated? Is there any way to tell what it wants to update?
After checking it out and updating only the .ipt is modified the .bmp that resides in the 3rd Party folder is unchanged. What am I missing?

I know this is not a Showcase forum however I can't seem to find one. I have a question about obtaining environment images files for use in Showcase. The help files state that images can be obtained from the Autodesk Consulting Team.

I have autodesk inventor 2012 and I'm building an assembly of an air compressor. One big part is coloured yellow and has on both sides decals with an image on them.
When I open my assembly file, the part is there in my assembly but it is coloured gray and no decals are visible, if I open the part with the decals it shows perfectly, So if I use replace and put the original file back in there, it's fixed, until I close and reopen the assembly ! Again the part is other colour and no decals visible ...
Have tried to delete and place the decals again, no difference...What do I have to do ?
I'm using Autodesk Inventor Pro 2013.
I have a middle complexity model, with several decals (,jpg, Using Mask), projected to different parts. When I start Studio, and start rendering, Inventor hangs. The render window opens, but it freezes on Translating and soon both of the windows are not answering. I've checked th CPU. Inventor uses around 1G of ram, during regular use. When I start rendering, slowly it goes up around 5,5G, and eventually the Windows freezes. Rendering the same model without a decal works fine.
I've installed all the Windows updates, and the Inv2013 1.1 Service Pack. Nothing worked.

I have a question regarding display problems when I import my Inventor assembly into Showcase and try to apply ray tracing. The assembly file is now missing some part and does not display at all. The assembly file is model that has been designed with frame generator however some of these framed generated parts just don't display. The strange this is they do display in other less desired formats such as shaded etc but not when ray tracing.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOne of the enhancements in 2013 is that users can send models to Showcase and convert constraints into animated behaviors, however, some users wonder if there is any way to select constraints which are within the subassemblies instead of the top assembly, how would you do it?
I have selected constraints in subassemblies but they don't become behaviors. The workflow allows users to select them, but they aren't converted into behaviors.
How to import the inventor studio animation to autodesk showcase? i have created the animation by inventor studio and i gonna record it as a movie but then i found that the movie quality is terrible and its take very very very long time to proceed if using inventor!

I need to Import a IAM file with Views and Positions to Showcase. I found several tutorials on this, but as soon as I add a position in Inventor none of the above are imported. Without any Positions, Views get Imported.
It's Inventor and Showcase 2013.
i got a problem that my imported objects and after I combine them with new objects together then I saved them, later on I opened my scene, my objects are gone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have installed the new Beta for Lightroom 4. It is unable to use or import from the existing LR3 catalog so I've had to create a new one.
Aalthough the most recent adjustments have been applied, I've lost the history and also attributes such as flags and ratings. This also happens when in LR3 I've imported images from aother LR catalog.
No one seems to understand what I mean but I can't explain it any more clearly!
I would like to find a way to restore the history or record of adjustments for each image. They must be saved somewhere as LR3 had them.
I want to import a plug-in list of Keywords into Ligtroom 4. However - as described in Lightroom support - in Library under Metadata, I do not see the option for "Importing Keywords." I do see Keywording and Keywrod List, but there does not appear to be anywhere here to add an entire list with heirarchy levels. What am I missing?

I am able to import these folders on an individual basis which is a time consuming process to say the least!! Is there any way to import them all en bloc.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I have done many hours of animation in flash over the years. And what I am trying to do is import some of the characters I have created in Flash into Illustrator and convert them to PSD. This is for a print project that I am working on. The reason I want to get the images to photoshop is so I can add some effects and coloring techniques I simply can not do in Illustator or Flash.Here is the method I am using.
1) Select the vector image in Flash and Export Selection to Adobe FXG.
2) Open FXG in Illustartor
3) Export to PSD
4) Open in Photoshop and Color.
The problem I am having is the line art that was drawn with the pencil tool in Flash simply vanishes when imported to Illustartor. Also a lot of the line art that was draw with the pencil tool is gradient filled or the image I am trying to export may have multiple color Pencil Lines. So just trying to outline the images in AI does not provide the look or effect I want.
So I was just importing all my xmas shots yesterday, and I kinda did it wrong in lightroom...as a result, the folder I created is now the "main folder" i.e the one that has all my photos under it, as subfolders and as a result, ALL my photos has now gone offline or missing.
The new folder I created sits on top of the hieracy, and I dont want that of course, I want it under my "2011" folder, which was the main... I cant move the new folder called "xmas 2011" and If i try to delete it, it says do you want to delete 2200 pictures, which is everything I have under the original "2011" folder...

I would like to create transparent graphics for window decals which should remain transparent after being printed on foil. By transparent I mean see-through, e.g. a set of light grey lines that you could actually see through.I am NOT asking how to create graphics with no white background, I would like the actual grey line to be semi see-through. Is this as simple as changing the opacity settings and is it something that is even design related or it is something that is done during the printing process itself?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been running PSE 10 for a while with my Canon 60D, windows 7 and I have never had an issue with importing CR2 files to my organizer. Now all of the sudden they will no longer show up in the organizer or rather there is the icon with a question mark, and the "mssing file" error. When I use the downloader from my card reader I can see them in the preview screen, but when the downloader is done and the files are in the organizer, get nothing but the aforementioned icons.
I installed to the DNG converter as suggested, but that did nothing as well. So, I finally gave up, purchased PSE 12, installed it and guess what, still no luck. I have updated the RAW converter to the latest version and as near as I can tell I have done everything suggested. Like I said earlier, I can see the pictures clearly in the adobe downloader when I import the files from my memory card and I can open the pics fine in the Canon software, I can even open the picture in the Editor if I go through the editor; but I can't do anything with the picture in the Organizer.
way to create an outline contour cut for decals? Iv'e been doing this for years and it's been a headache. I have the graphic/text, duplicate it with a thick outline. Say .25". Then Convert Outline To Object. The problem I have is that if it's a complexe graphic or line of text, a number (sometimes a large number) of the nodes are broken and I have to join them. And CD sometimes adds way too many nodes. So I have to spend a long time deleting unnessesary nodes to clean it up.
Iv'e had people suggest to use the Arrange, Shaping, Boundery function. But that doesn't allow me to make the boundery any further away from the art.
I've shared an album with some friends using Showcase. I now want to add a further recipient who I forgot to put on the original list. There doesn't appear to be a way to do this without starting from scratch. Or am I wrong? (I am using Elements 10)

Which other programs might I need? Meshlab sounds promising but I had troubles with the materials of the *.wrl file.
It´s a rather big *.wrl file and the corresponding *dae file is even bigger.
P.S.: I also thought about bringing them together in Navisworks or Max.

Customer has sent me a 3D Autocad model. Part opens fine in Autocad 2012 and Acad Mech 2012. I need to bring this into Inventor so, from Inventor: Choose Open and select the dwg file.
From options, I select "Import".
Select "Next" on the dwf/dfx File Wizard, then Finish.
Instead of Inventor opening the file, I get this dialog.... "Mechanical Desktop 6 or newer is required".I don't have Mech Desktop. How can I get this part into Inventor?In ACAD, I tried ACISOUT and picked the objects.... "339 found, No Solids, regions, or Shape Manger bodies found". Does not export.

When I make 3D solids myself with autocad 2012 it works fine, but these solids I got appear scrambled.
