How to save as coreldraw file in .tiff format
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to find a editor that will allow me to do some basic things with a very large tiff file created from a wide-format scanner. I had hopes that Paint .NET would do it since it seems to support 64 bit. The file I'm trying to edit is 1.7GB uncompressed tiff. Unfortunately, Paint seems to take forever to load (5-10 minutes), even when I have at least that much available memory on my 4GB Win7-64 machine. Are there any tips to conserve memory or to make this possible?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am a AutoCad drafter for telecommunications and I have utility pole points (long/lats)
I can insert the poles via long/lat and all is great, my issue is I would like more information in those points.
For example, pole number, class, HOA, Make Ready. Currently I create a survey data store and import ASCII Points using PNE(comma delimited)
So with my Excel file (this is where I get my pole information from) I get a point/northing/easting to enter into the formatting section.
I would like to add more information to these individual points, like ploe number, class, HOA...
If I view the point table I see that there are a lot of other columns, can I use them or customize them? is there a quick tutorial on this issue?
I don't seem to find a way to plot to a tiff file. Is there a driver I'm missing? I have and use often "DWG to PDF", but someone has asked us for everything to be in TIFF format.
Using Civil3D r2011
I need to insert a georeferenced TIF file into 3d.
I tried MAPIIMAGE and the image came in the middle of no where. It does have a tfw file.
The settings of the drawing are set at US feet NAD 29 PA N
I can't get the map workspace to come up.
In order to save hard-drive disk space I want/need to start compressing my Photoshop files. The Tiff-LZW or Tiff-ZIP compressions seems like a great lossless format alternative with apparent significant compression. Is anyone aware whether there is truly no loss of file information with these formats, or does some minimal degradation occur? Any thoughts on JPEG2000 lossless compression?

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow can I know that the AGS file is complied the AGS 3.1. or 4? I have a AGS file that it can't to be imported to Civil 3D 2014 - Geotechnical Modules. Is there any tool for doing clarification?
The error is "Pick list item 'FILL' under header GEOL_LEG does not exist in the ABBR table" ...etc...
I've been sent an AGS 3.1 file which I'm trying to import to Civil 3D using the Geotechnical module, but keep running up against an error which suggests the date format in the AGS file is incorrect. From what I can see the format should be DD/MM/YYYY, and this is correct in the file, but Geotechnics still won't recognise it.
Is there a different date format I should be using, or is there a way to force the tool to recognise the format in the file?
Is there a way to re-order the point file format listing for points on the settings tab? I have tried everything and it will not change the order of the listing.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi made a survey, about 2000 points with my TSC3R6. I exported my CSV file to a PNEZD file with comma seperated. When i try ti import the file (CSV then i made a .txt), C3D tells me "no point file format match found". Then I opened the txt file, searched for any error that would not let me import my points. The only thing i have found would be the description of my points that sometimes had a space between 2 words (ex: bt balast and ht balast) so i changed it to bt-balast and ht-balast. i looked further and didnt found anything else. heres a sample of my txt file:

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using PSE 12 as an external editor for Aperture. When I ask to use an external photo editor, Aperture creates a .tiff file in my Aperture folder, launches PSE 12 and tells it to edit that .tiff file. This all works great. When I am done editing in PSE 12, I ask it to save the file and it saves it back to the original Aperture folder with a .tif extension. I can instead say "save as" and then it suggests the file name with a .tif extension. When I correct the extension to .tiff it warns me that I'm going to overwrite the file (exactly what I want!). I say yes and then I find out that PSE did not overwrite the file, but wrote it as a .tif file anyway. I have to go to the folder, delete the .tiff file and rename the .tif file to .tiff and then everything is fine - but what a hassle.
View 3 Replies View Relatedhow I can go about automatic creation of figures and existing alignment (i.e. Centerline and edges) using csv/txt file data format. Currently I have to snap each line to create Centerline, edge, figures etc. a headache of work! I am using Autocad civil 3D 2012.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have encountered with a Photoshop TIFF image.
This image is a CMYK 8-bit TIFF - no layers - everything very basic (so it seems). I place this image as a link into Adobe Illustrator, then save this resulting file as a PDF.
I open the PDF with Adobe Acrobat, then I use Enfocus Pitstop to check the properties of the image. The Pitstop Inspector tells me that the image is indeed CMYK, but it contains only 1 channel and the image is "Indexed".
When I try to output this file to a printer, I only get the Cyan channel. It seems that the Magenta, Yellow and Black channels are "hidden" or something similar.
Throughout this entire process, the image appears on screen (in all applications) as a full colour image, ie, I get to see all of the channels - not just the Cyan channel.
I have found that if I save the original image as a Photoshop PDF or EPS, everything is fine.
I have also just completed another test and found that if I change anything about the image size (eg change from 300 dpi to 299 dpi) everything is also fine.
I am not able to attach the image, as it is too big for the 200KB restriction of this site, and I cannot compress it that far.
Has any body heard of this type of thing before?
Is there any way one can convert an imported photo in Jpeg or Bmp or Tiff or any other format into lines in a drawing?

I like to repair books with missing pages. Often I can get digital images in tiff or PDF format, but they are often 'dirty', like the one attached. This one seems a good example of the sort of thing I would need to work on.
I need to reconstruct the image, which I think would mean:
i) getting an image that is complete and rectangular with a bleed out of in the same colour.
ii) remove blemishes like library marks, names etc.
iii) reconstruct the decayed text as sensitively as possible.
Is there an easy way to convert a jpg. or tiff image to a Illustrator format?

Here's my question: I have about 500 images in .PCD and I want to batch convert them to .TIFF format. Is there a plug-in I can use or should I go to a third party app?
What is the best format to save high resolution black and white photographic work? Tiff? JPEG? Also, I'm confused about the Tiff save dialog.
When saving as Tiff, there is a box I can check labeled "ICC Profile: Grey Gamma 2.2". What does this do?
Also, later I'm asked if I want LZW compression. I want as high resolution as possible, file size is not an issue. So I assume I'm not interested in compression.
But is Tiff the best format for me?
I scanned some images to Tiff format and when I bring them into Gimp I can't seem to get the threshold effect to work. The other color effects work but not threshhold. I check with other Tiff images I have and they work but not for this new set (done on a different scanner).
