Photoshop :: PCD Conversion - Batch Convert To TIFF Format?
Apr 2, 2012I use PS CS5 and LR4 on my Mac. I also have the prior versions of both on the Mac, too. I run the SL OS.
Here's my question: I have about 500 images in .PCD and I want to batch convert them to .TIFF format. Is there a plug-in I can use or should I go to a third party app?

Sep 16, 2011I have over 200 pdf files that I need to batch convert to tiff format. From what I've gathered, this can be done simply using Ghostscript. Unfortunately, I have no experience running GS as a command line program, and only installed it as part of Gimp. Any tool for gimp that could do this? or step by step, through the process of using GS to perform this task?

When I open a single file and "Save as" JPEG-2000 with the lossless option checked, the result is truly lossless. But when I record this as an Action and then Automate/Batch this action, the output is not saved as lossless.

Jul 5, 2004I am cleaning up the Hard Drive on my Mac G4. My scanned images are taking a great portion of the 80 Gig drive. I finished clearing my external drive by removing nearly 60 gigs of images by storing them on DVD. I will do the same for the Mac drive.
My trouble is that all my images are stored in TIFF format which takes up enormous space no matter the storage. Since I output images in various sizes, mainly prints, to 30 x 40 inches, I need a master image archived in the best format for such. However, I do not want to fill my drives, or DVD, with large files. Code:

Nov 12, 2013Working in BRidge and Photoshop CS6:I have 160 color adjusted hi-res CR2 RAW files from my photographer, thought I was getting tifs. I need tifs for my INdesign file. I tried using the photoshop image proecessor through brige by selecting all my images and then saving as TIFFs but I am losing all my color correcting? Is there a way to save these out as tiffs as a group and not one at a time? I also might have lost my color correcting when I copies them all to one folder as well...not sure what is happening except now my great product shots look like crap.

Sep 19, 2012im having problems with saving my tiff files and converting. once i convert them to jpegs to email or go to the printers, they are changed and are washed out as if the org tiff before editing. when i open on my comp they are ok but when emailed to someone or once printed are destroyed. i dont
think is my colour management as org jpegs files are fine. below are some details of the process. the thumbnails on my mac are even off with colour.i open my file (pro photo RGB, 16bit, 3888x2592 10.1MP)i edit the photo. if saving in jpeg i change to 8bit and save with the embedded colour profile button clicked

Mar 8, 2012I have about 2300 .eps files that I need to convert to .jpg so they can be used in an online store.
All of the eps files need to be resized to a maximum of 700px wide, coverted to an rgb colorspace, and 72dpi and then saved as a .jpg file
I have been trying to use the actions pallet to record the actions and then run a batch action but to no avail. I have adobe PS CS4.
Below are screenshots of what i have tried to setup. (After this I have about the same amount of .TIFF files that also need converted.)

When I make the action, in the "save as" box I have to first pick the JPEG 2000 format, then manually change the extension from .jpf to .jp2. The problem is that when I set everything up, the files save with the extension .jpf, because that is the default extension for JPEG 2000, and my manual change is ignored in the replaying of the action.

Apr 17, 2013My Lightroom catalog contains a lot of PSD files (created in old versions of Photoshop, before TIFF was the default save format). They have layers. I want to convert these PSDs to TIFFs -- ideally TIFF+ZIP compression, since that seems to reduce the file size pretty significantly.
Is there any way to automate this? My current workflow goes like this: Open a PSD in PhotoshopFile > Save As, choose TIFF+ZIPDelete the PSD file.Lightroom detects the file is missing. Choose Locate on the file, select the .TIF version of the file, click OK.Click Confirm when prompted that the filenames don't match.Now I have a .TIF original in my catalog. This process requires a lot of manual effort. I can (kind of) automate the PSD > TIF conversion using Photoshop's Image Processor, but: Image Processor only allows LZW compression, not ZIP.After I delete the .PSD, Lightroom requires me to browse for each missing file and "Locate" it individually -- I can't do this with several files at once.
Other stuff I tried: Lightroom's Convert to DNG feature. This discards the layer information from my PSDs, so it won't work.Lightroom's Rename function. I thought I could rename the .PSD files to .TIF before converting them, thus saving the manual step of having to use "Locate" on each file. But Lightroom will not rename files to a different file extension, so this fails.Lightroom's Export feature with "Add to catalog" enabled. This is not what I want either, because it exports a file with LR edits applied. I want to replace the original file with a different format, while retaining all its LR metadata and edits in the catalog.
