I need to find a program that can convert a Tiff file to a Cad File(DWG or DXF). what program I could use to do this ?
I've Googled for a few programs but they all seen to do the same thing use the file as Xref in the file and copy this to CAD.
I'm new to AutoCAD and scripting in general with AutoCAD and was looking for some insight.
I need to convert DWGs to Tiff. I have about a million sets of a million DWGs and need to convert different sets at different times.
I'd like to write a script or batch plot type utility that will:
Turn off a layer
Choose monochrome
Save as tiff.
I started looking into the raster function, but to be honest, I'm so green at AutoCAD I'm not even sure if that's the correct direction.
Is there any way one can convert an imported photo in Jpeg or Bmp or Tiff or any other format into lines in a drawing?

Also I want to change pix size and resolution. If so how do I do it?? I know it can be done on Elements, if I can do it on that then there must be a way to do it on cs5.

Unfortunately, I have no experience running GS as a command line program, and only installed it as part of Gimp. View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Lightroom catalog contains a lot of PSD files (created in old versions of Photoshop, before TIFF was the default save format). They have layers. I want to convert these PSDs to TIFFs -- ideally TIFF+ZIP compression, since that seems to reduce the file size pretty significantly.
Is there any way to automate this? My current workflow goes like this: Open a PSD in PhotoshopFile > Save As, choose TIFF+ZIPDelete the PSD file.Lightroom detects the file is missing. Choose Locate on the file, select the .TIF version of the file, click OK.Click Confirm when prompted that the filenames don't match.Now I have a .TIF original in my catalog. This process requires a lot of manual effort. I can (kind of) automate the PSD > TIF conversion using Photoshop's Image Processor, but: Image Processor only allows LZW compression, not ZIP.After I delete the .PSD, Lightroom requires me to browse for each missing file and "Locate" it individually -- I can't do this with several files at once.
Other stuff I tried: Lightroom's Convert to DNG feature. This discards the layer information from my PSDs, so it won't work.Lightroom's Rename function. I thought I could rename the .PSD files to .TIF before converting them, thus saving the manual step of having to use "Locate" on each file. But Lightroom will not rename files to a different file extension, so this fails.Lightroom's Export feature with "Add to catalog" enabled. This is not what I want either, because it exports a file with LR edits applied. I want to replace the original file with a different format, while retaining all its LR metadata and edits in the catalog.

im having problems with saving my tiff files and converting. once i convert them to jpegs to email or go to the printers, they are changed and are washed out as if the org tiff before editing. when i open on my comp they are ok but when emailed to someone or once printed are destroyed. i dont
think is my colour management as org jpegs files are fine. below are some details of the process. the thumbnails on my mac are even off with colour.i open my file (pro photo RGB, 16bit, 3888x2592 10.1MP)i edit the photo. if saving in jpeg i change to 8bit and save with the embedded colour profile button clicked
How do I convert an HDR file into a tiff file. I see no opportunity to save as a different type of file from one of the 6 default styles. Also how do you print one of the defaults, there seems to be no right clicks in the HDR adjustments panel.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am cleaning up the Hard Drive on my Mac G4. My scanned images are taking a great portion of the 80 Gig drive. I finished clearing my external drive by removing nearly 60 gigs of images by storing them on DVD. I will do the same for the Mac drive.
My trouble is that all my images are stored in TIFF format which takes up enormous space no matter the storage. Since I output images in various sizes, mainly prints, to 30 x 40 inches, I need a master image archived in the best format for such. I have a tif background that shows up in my pdf plot preview, but it will not actually print. All I get is a pdf showing the linework. I've recently switched from 2008 to 2010 and am wondering if that has anything to do with it as I had no problems in the past? While the tif file is large, it always plotted in 2008.

Unfortunately the next tool in my workflow doesn't understand 'solids' only polylines (and a few other basic shapes like circles, lines, etc). Is there some way to convert the object in AutoCAD?
I tried the 'boundary' command but when it asks to 'Pick Points' and I click inside the solid, it always gives the error 'Valid hatch boundary not found'.

When attach image (tif) with no path. is saved, de image will be saved without a path. dir. Only when we change the image (with RasterCAD) when we now save the drawing the hole path dir. will be saved.
When we used AutoCAD 2006 this will not be the case. The tiff. will stay no path. We move/copy drawing with image to other dir. very often.

I am trying to batch convert several thousand TIFF files to lossless JPEG-2000, but I can't get it to work.
When I open a single file and "Save as" JPEG-2000 with the lossless option checked, the result is truly lossless. But when I record this as an Action and then Automate/Batch this action, the output is not saved as lossless.

I know this because if I change the output device to PDF or to our printer, they show up (and show up in the preview), but when TIFF is selected, all linewidths seem to revert to 0.0000. Any thoughts? I am plotting in B/W exclusively.
