View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen using the 'space generate' option when inserting a space, the tool automatically turns off 'object snap' and then of course it doesn't turn it back on at the end of the operation. I tend to need to switch back and forth from auto generate to polygonal insertion and having to reset object snap every time.

My accelerator keys for the right-click object-snap cursor menu do not work. For example, I will be drawing a line and I will bring up the object-snap menu, then I will select ‘E’ for endpoint snap, the ‘e’ will display in the dynamic input window and the snap does not work.

When I drag around vector points of paths they are not constrained to the pixel grid, when the option "Snap Vector Tools and Transform to Pixel Grid" is off. This is the behavior I expect.BUT: When I drag whole paths, they snap to the pixel grid, no matter what. I even have snapping completely disabled.
This is particularly annoying when eg. creating a path for a zipper. I first make a path for the inside of the jacket or whatever, then I make one notch for the zipper and copy it over and over again for all the notches. It's very troubling when these elements snap to the pixel grid, because it's very unprecise then.
I'm trying to snap one object to the other with vert snap.
It's trying to snap from the center of my object rather then the vert I am hovering over. In the Snap settings I have only "vertex" checked so it should snap to whatever vertex I hover over but no...This keeps up I'm going back to 2008 when all this worked fine.
I've just recently started to try using Revit architecture, most of it seems fairly self explanitory however I've had trouble because I don't know how to get the snap tools (like those found on autocad) to work.
I want to solve is positioning a steel I-frame column to the center of a pad foundation. However when it comes to moving the column or just trying to create it in the centre no points appear to position it?
Normally I do all of my initial editing in Raw Editor and then save the files to a 16-bit Photshop format file. In Photoshop, all my Nik and PhotoKit filters work fine as well as adjustment layers.
But when I try to use any of the tools, e.g. clone, healing, dodging, burning, all I get is a hand cursor on the photo and I cannot do whatever it is that I want to do with any of the tools. Am I missing something in the setup?
I was working on a scene and went to select the rotate tool and suddenly all the tools and the entire toolbar was gone! I tried un-checking and re-checking the main toolbar selection but to no avail. I am completely at a loss as to what to do since I can't choose my tools anymore! I put my tools back onto a custom toolbar but I can't find the dropdown box that you can choose what orientation the gizmos use (i.e. local, world,...) Without that toolbar, I really can't do anything and it would be nice to have all the tools back as I can't find half the ones that were there. As you can see in the picture, I put the tools I could find back in.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been working with ADT 2012 for a month now, and I am missing the way that my crosshairs used to snap to a grid, even if a command is NOT active. If I am zoomed in close, I used to be able to have my pickbox/crosshairs snap to the 1" grid that I have set up. However, that I only works if I have a command like "LINE". What setting do I need to change to make this work the way it has for YEARS?

can I snap an object/vertex/edge to another object straight in one axis?
I'm coming from Rhino 3d, where this is possible by holding the shift key.

I have ACA2011. I received a Topo from someone an it's grade lines are Proxy Entities. I need to snap to one and can't. Is there a way to snap to these? I just want to move the topo to the right Z height, but need to snap to at least one grade line to do so.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a number of custom Toolbars from ACA 2009 that I would like to convert to Panels in ACA 2010. I created a new Panel that is listed in the CUI but does not appear on the Ribbon anywhere. what windows to use in the CUI, and when to drag info from one to another.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've finally made the jump from ACA2008 to ACA2011..I'm slowly getting used to the Ribbon, but there's something from 2008 I dearly miss: the Properties Toolbar . Now, I may just be missing something in 2011, so I thought I'd post to find out...
With the Prop Toolbar I could select anything on screen (whether an entity, object, text, dimension, whatever...) and just look up at that toolbar to know what color & linetype that selection was. I strategically placed this toolbar above the Layer Properties Toolbar so I could add layer identification to said selections.... Well with 2011, if I select something, I have to make sure to click on the Home Tab to see the Layers Ribbon. If I want to see the properties, I have to open up the properties window. Plus, the window needs to be pulled out wide enough for me so see the linetypes. It's adding steps that I don't need. Is there a way to add the properties dialog box to the ribbon above or something?
After upgrading to ACA 2011 in plan view I am unable to snap to the edges of walls. Toggling the osnap setting check box to allow object snap to act on wall justification lines seems to have no effect as it always snaps only to the justification line and to nothing else. This is extremely annoying and makes it impossible to dimension to the face of a wall that is center justified. Is this a bug or am I missing some new setting somewhere? All my layers are unfrozen including layer 0.

is there 3D object snap tracking?
Our office recently upgraded from AutoCAD 2005 to the new version AutoCAD Architecture 2013. I’m having difficulty finding the layer override toolbar for the lines. I have found that I can change the color and/or line type of an line in the properties dialog box but in AutoCAD 2005 there was a toolbar specifically assigned for the color, line type and line weight of a line. Dose that toolbar still exist in 2013 or do they control this in another location.

View 9 Replies View RelatedHow to use keyboard shortcut to allow for a temporary override of my "Nearest" OSNAP. I often find myself pulling leaders from splines and/or circles and need the "Nearest" OSNAP active.
I was in CUI and saw the temp override shortcut key was setup but inactive as it has no ties to any keys. I also saw others setup with shortcuts keys and decided to give them a demo. While in a line command (for example) i held 'SHIFT + C' to trigger the temp override of "Center." It didn't seem to work. Dynamic input popped up as if i was entering "C."
I want 'SHIFT + N' to be temp override for "Nearest" OSNAP.As a side note, i was able to set up ACAD to zoom extents and close dwg simultaneously with 'CTRL + W' without any hiccups.
