Every once and a while a get an error while I am trying to generate a mesh for a part. The error says: Warning:1 No additional information is available. Internal error in the mesher.Sometimes I can go back to the part and change a dimension exit the sketch and then change the dimension back to the original value and then I can get the mesh to work. Today I can't get the mesh to work. How I can do eliminate this error?
I am trying to shell a solid. I get error "No solution for vertex". I am thinking this may be due to where I swept two helix's and where they are connected is not a smooth transition. The file is too large to attach. How to make and attach a screen shot of my drawing.
I want to convert an open shell as shown in picture 1st to a closed solid as shown in picture 2. I want to subtract something later from it so it needs to be solid.
I'm trying to create a solid using the inside geometry of a shell in Inventor 2011. is there a simple way of doing this? i have attached the part i'm working on and need a solid that represents the free space inside the shell.
I have finally created the shell of the complex surface that you see. This is only a section of the part because I cannot show the whole thing for proprietary reasons. I formed solid surfaces using the network command. The propblem is that it will not convert to a solid because the surface seams are not "water tight." When the network command created the solid surfaces, the surface seams do not exactly match the lines so there are gaps in all the seams. I have tried blending, patching, etc. and nothing works. how to convert this to a solid without losing the outlines and the shape?
Is it possible to trim a 3d solid using another 3d solid as a cutting edge? I want to cut the edges of a dam using the natural ground surface (which is also a solid) as my cutting edge.
i am having a hatching issue, it seems no matter what hatch pattern i use and what hatch scale, alot of the hatch looks solid instead of the pattern i want, for example i am using currently ANSI37 @ Annotative with a scale of .20 and on the same paperspace page one plan with the hatch shows the cross hatching and the other one below looks solid (see attached) now i can go and say change the hatch scale and it reverts to the cross hatching, but then when i zoom out it goes back to "solid" is it a graphical issue?
I’ve got a student version (AutoCAD for Mac 2013) , which I got from official website. There starting to appear few problems after a few months of my work.
1. when I’m doing a rectangle, lines that intersect or just lines that contact, in the point of connection appear small blue rectangles and windows of mistakes. If I trying to move only one element of this object, all others elements start to deform in chaotic way.
2. when I’m coping any object on the same page in one file, program start to buzz and I need to close the program despotic.
I am some trouble working with 3dface. I want convert 3dface to polyline but in some cases I faces with problem that a 3dface don't convert surface or solid.
using inventor for FEA analysis in inventor on an imported SolidWorks file. But I am now having trouble creating a good mesh on an assembly. The largest part of the assembly gets an error "mesh failed: body failure:filename". I have attached a snip of the aftermath of the "mesh view".
there is a possible way that the borders that the 3dface command creats will not be visible. I am attaching a foto in order to explain it better. the red arrows at the foto show the borders that i don t want to be seen at the final product.
In order to make it more clear, i have to say that these borders are not lines that i have drawed. these are lines that are created by choosing the 4 points that the 3dface command needs.
trying to make a flyer. i want to add a body sillouhette that blends nice into the flyer. but appears like a shadow compared to the vivid colors on the flyer. sort of like a neon glow image but meshing into a vivid flyer.
I have this draft with the parameters given. I need to correctly make this a 3D...How do I insert the parameters given, so the draft correctly rise accordingly to the planes?
We have been having an issue with this for a long time in hopes of it being fixed in any new release. If I click Diameter and pull it to the OD of hte circle it shows as in the picture which is what we want. If I pull it to the ID it pulls straight from that point and the dimension is not level.
The only way we can fix it is click on it, go to properties, scroll down to text, and in the text rotation box, type 90.1 and hit enter.
In AutoCAD 2011 and 2012 my spell check instantly recognizes a misspelled word as soon as you enter a space after the word as you type.
AutoCAD 2013 does not recognize the misspelling until I go back (still within the text editor) and click on the word. Only then will it show the red underline. This is using Dtext only. Mtext works fine.
For the bad spellers or missed keystrokes, the fast "on the fly" spell checking was great. How to get my AutoCAD 2013 to behave similarly?
how you get objects, say i drew a rectangle, to the correct size from model space to paper space. And why when you change the dimensions of an object to meters from milimeters, does it not change the size of the object on paperspace when it's at the same scale.
I am using Autocad 2D for a drawing, and my lineweight refuses to plot correctly. I didn't use a ctb file, but I changed them by hand each one. Most of them works correctly but some of them not. When I go to the properties window, every of them have the good lineweight, it's when I plot them in pdf file and open them in Adobe reader, some still have the 0mm (wrong lineweight). However they show they are the good size in properties window, but they plot differently.
I just realize that when it shows in adobe reader it shows the wrong lineweight, but if I convert the pdf into a jpeg and open it with windows photo viewer, it shows the correct lineweight.
I am using AutoCAD LT 2013 and at the moment i am just using the dwg to pdf.pc3 included in AutoCAD.
All of the text in my drawings is the same font (ISOCPAUS). Up until about a week ago, i could plot bold & italic text using the dwg to pdf plotter. Now, I cannot and i don't know what has changed to make this happen. Underlined and overlined text still plots fine to pdf. Everything appears correct in model space, paper space layouts, in previews and if i plot to any of the printers in the office, but once i plot to pdf, the bold and italic is gone.
I have autocad running on my partitioned mac and I have just created a multileader style with Datum triangle filled as the arrowhead symbol. In the view panel the symbol looks correct, but when I select the multileader with this datum style and add it to my drawing it appears as an unfilled triangle!
My plan designer uses Chief Architect and has converted his drawing into a DWG for me to use in AutoCAD 2013. When I open the drawing however, it is not to scale. I've tried importing it using the copyclip command to a blank drawing but it doesn't convert to scale. When I've tried using the scale command it doesn't scale properly.
A bit of difference is that the polylines do not have to be even closed. Any polyline gives me exactly the described behaviour, which is definitely not intended. Appears still not resolved.
I have a user who has been using certain solids for years with no problems but now having one.
These are simple flat object types "solid" objects that are simple direction arrows. If I print it from model space they are filled in. If I look at it and/or print it from paper space (in a viewport) it shows up only as an outline of the arrow.
FILLMODE is set to 1, have tried 0 also, doesn't change anything.
Then I need to extrude it, but when I extrude, it's shallow. So this 2D polygon need to have face. I've tried 3DFACE but then I need to add faces manually. Is there any way to just specify this polygon and have it faced?
