I have this draft with the parameters given. I need to correctly make this a 3D...How do I insert the parameters given, so the draft correctly rise accordingly to the planes?
View 5 RepliesI have found a couple of times now a problem with Parameters not updating correctly. Last Tuesday (26/06/2012) I logged a call with the VAR and they are yet to contact me about the problem. In the past when I found the same thing, a different VAR made excuses about not using the most current software as I developed the model on IV2010. The Parametric model made use of VBA and Skeletal modelling and the VAR made excuses along the lines of we weren't running the most current software, didn't make use of iLogic and since I was using VBA and did not pay for the code checking service the problem for them disappeared as they were going to do no more. When we finally upgraded to IV2012 and the problem still existed they consequently chose the excuse of my VBA code being the problem, consequently I then created a simple rule in iLogic and demonstrated the problem that way.
To summarize, the model is a Parametric Skeletal assembly, it utilizes VBA for a user interface. The problem existed in IV2010, IV2011, IV2012 and IV2013. There are pictures attached to show the problem.
Is it possible to add an if then statement to the parameters manager in dynamic blocks in Autocad 2014. For example, in the image below is it possible to put in A1... 'IF Dim1= 0, display 0, else (Dim1-79-50)'.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have what I believe is a good use for block alignment parameters, but I'm having trouble getting it to work the way I want. Let's say I am building a space frame. I start by drawing a series of 3D lines from one node of my space frame to another which defines the center lines of each member of the frame. Then I have a block representing a tubular member of the space frame. I would like to add an alignment parameter to the block such that I can insert a member and align it to one of the 3D center lines. Preferably, I should be able to insert and align in a single step, although it would also be fine if that were two steps. For example, I could first align the block to one of the 3D lines, and then move the insert point of the block to a node point of the space frame.
I am able to create an alignment parameter on my block, but I find I cannot use it to align to a simple 3D line. It will align to the edge of a solid without problem, but not to a 3D line.
My alignment parameter is (I believe) inserted at the insert point of the block. Although, in the Block Editor you cannot seem to specify the insert point directly. Perhaps because I am editing the block its insert point is not available in that mode?

With Windows version of AutoCAD2013, I can't find the Dialog box of Parameters Manager (See the First Picture below) from Block Editor Tab in Manage panel (the Second Picture below.) When I pick the Parameters Manager tool, I could see something happened in a blink of an eye, and disappeared. I tried the line command by typing PARAMETERS, but to no avail. I clicked Parametriic from the menu bar, and then Parameters Manager for selection, but with the same result. I just can't display it.

We have been having an issue with this for a long time in hopes of it being fixed in any new release. If I click Diameter and pull it to the OD of hte circle it shows as in the picture which is what we want. If I pull it to the ID it pulls straight from that point and the dimension is not level.
The only way we can fix it is click on it, go to properties, scroll down to text, and in the text rotation box, type 90.1 and hit enter.
Is there if fix for this issue?
In AutoCAD 2011 and 2012 my spell check instantly recognizes a misspelled word as soon as you enter a space after the word as you type.
AutoCAD 2013 does not recognize the misspelling until I go back (still within the text editor) and click on the word. Only then will it show the red underline. This is using Dtext only. Mtext works fine.
For the bad spellers or missed keystrokes, the fast "on the fly" spell checking was great. How to get my AutoCAD 2013 to behave similarly?
how you get objects, say i drew a rectangle, to the correct size from model space to paper space. And why when you change the dimensions of an object to meters from milimeters, does it not change the size of the object on paperspace when it's at the same scale.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Autocad 2D for a drawing, and my lineweight refuses to plot correctly. I didn't use a ctb file, but I changed them by hand each one. Most of them works correctly but some of them not. When I go to the properties window, every of them have the good lineweight, it's when I plot them in pdf file and open them in Adobe reader, some still have the 0mm (wrong lineweight). However they show they are the good size in properties window, but they plot differently.
I just realize that when it shows in adobe reader it shows the wrong lineweight, but if I convert the pdf into a jpeg and open it with windows photo viewer, it shows the correct lineweight.
I am using AutoCAD LT 2013 and at the moment i am just using the dwg to pdf.pc3 included in AutoCAD.
All of the text in my drawings is the same font (ISOCPAUS). Up until about a week ago, i could plot bold & italic text using the dwg to pdf plotter. Now, I cannot and i don't know what has changed to make this happen. Underlined and overlined text still plots fine to pdf. Everything appears correct in model space, paper space layouts, in previews and if i plot to any of the printers in the office, but once i plot to pdf, the bold and italic is gone.
I have autocad running on my partitioned mac and I have just created a multileader style with Datum triangle filled as the arrowhead symbol. In the view panel the symbol looks correct, but when I select the multileader with this datum style and add it to my drawing it appears as an unfilled triangle!

My plan designer uses Chief Architect and has converted his drawing into a DWG for me to use in AutoCAD 2013. When I open the drawing however, it is not to scale. I've tried importing it using the copyclip command to a blank drawing but it doesn't convert to scale. When I've tried using the scale command it doesn't scale properly.

I am drawing a block that containes a number of other blocks which I want to control parametrically. For example. In one block, I have set the diameters of a circle restricted to 10 and 12-mm. I have a second block that also contains the circles which have similar restrictions. I now want to control the diameters of the circles from a single source - similar to shared parameters in Revit. Am I able to share a global parameter between blocks?
Eventually, I want to control a 2D drawing from a table only. Should I be using .Net or AutoLisp for this.
Just found the issue with my AC2013.
A bit of difference is that the polylines do not have to be even closed. Any polyline gives me exactly the described behaviour, which is definitely not intended. Appears still not resolved.

Its a 2D cylinder, for winding purposes we just have a rectangle, with a distance from the Y axis for radial.
Parametric dimensions: B=thickness, C=Lenght, R=radius
User parameter: A=Diameter (R*2), Mass in kg ((((pi*(c*b))*(A+B))*1.25)/1000)/1000
For the BOM, i need A, B, C & mass
For drawing references for peoples on the floor, to distinquish a cylinder from a stick, we put lines at the top and bottom of the cylinder, 1mm distance inbetween them.
I figured that making a linear parameter + stretch on the thickness to replace the B parametric dimension, allowed me to make an array of that line, with increments of 1mm as i stretch the cylinder. The thing is that the mass formula cant take the value of action parameters....
Other alternative is to keep the B parametric dimension, and add a linear parameter as above for the array. But then i have 2 places to adjust, and from a test i made, if i change the R dimension, the linear one does not follow. Its very frustrating.
What i was hoping autocad would be able to do is distance1 for array to be same as B dimension, but it does not allow me to do that, unless im missing something.
im working whit and have purchased a computer to plate punch that works with files in nc1 extension, but only works with extensions Autocad dxf and dwg, so we are looking for if Autodesk has a module to convert dxf or dwg extensions to nc1.
