AutoCAD 2013 :: Vertical Line At Multileader Text?
Jul 31, 2013Using Autocad 2014 and would like away to put a vertical line at the text where the leader meets it. Is this a setting that I'm missing or might there be a Lisp routine to get it? See the attached jpeg.

Jun 4, 2012At a multileader when "automatically include landing" is set to "NO" or unchecked, then a small point (like that at the end of a dimension line) is inserted in the callout block, such as the circle, which then prints. This makes for less than clean drafting to say the least--is this normal? If so, (why?!), is there any way to NOT have those points print/show up?

Dec 3, 2013I have recently converted mtext to multileader text & i thought it was causing some issues but now im not so sure. Some of my users are experiencing a long time to regen & it has caused some peoples computers to freeze up. Is there a setting or a variable that could be causing this? I am not sure if this is an issue with the multileaders or with autocad release 13 or 14 in general. I had the users turn regenauto off until i can find a solution.

I can do a full border like that as a transparent png file.However if the shot is tight in and has people from edge to edge, the border/watermark cuts them off. Is there a way to add a watermark/border as the background and resize and rotate an image (on a slant) to fit the middle area.

Sep 25, 2012I would like to build an expression that I can use in a label at a structure in a profile view to show the horizontal angle change on the alignment at the structure.
Of course, in the available structure expressions, we do not have the alignment delta angle at that point even though I have a referenced alignment in my pipe network.
Our subdivision code has minimum drop across manhole for different ranges of horizontal angle change.
I want to create a label that shows the minimum drop required at a manhole off it's referenced alignment and I would like to see it on the profile view, because that is where the drop value is relevant.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Dynamic Block With Text Inserted Into Drawing Show Text Orientation Matched To Layout
Apr 17, 2013Is it possible to have a dynamic block with text which, when inserted into a drawing, will show the text orientation matched to the layout? I have a non-dynamic block which is simply a donut and a piece of text. When I insert it into a drawing, the text orientation will change to suit the orientation of the layout. I created another block with the same entities but I also added a couple of lines extending out from the center of the donut. I added stretch and rotation actions in order to rotate and stretch the lines. I also gave the block visibility states so that either one or two lines would appear (the block is a utility pole,by the way, with the lines representing guy wires). When I insert the dynamic block into a drawing, I cannot get the text to match the orientation of the viewport. I've tried changing different combinations of settings but the text won't appear horizontal.
The two blocks I mentioned above are inserted into one file with a number of other blocks. When I check the properties of the non-dynamic block, the "match orientation" is set to YES. I cannot, however, change the "match to orientation" setting to YES on the dynamic block. Is this simply because it is a dynamic block or am I missing something? I don't create a lot of dynamic blocks and therefore I am not a wizard at it so I am assuming I am doing something wrong.

May 2, 2013I have some new multi leader definitions using blocks, however I can only edit the attribute definition text individually, where if I had the same block as a standalone with a leader I could select as many blocks as I wanted and change the text via quick properties in one quick step. Is there a way to achieve this using a block as a base for a multileader?

Jul 12, 2012I created a Multileader style in AutoCAD LT 2011 that duplicated our Architectural firms standards from previous versions. Pretty simple. The problem is, when utilized using AutoCAD LT 2012, AutoCAD LT 2013, AutoCAD 2012, or AutoCAD 2013, a small dot appears in the keynote bubble. (it also plots) Workarounds include checking “Automatically include landing” and/or changing “Content – Insertion point” to “Content – Center Extents”, in the “Modify Multileader Styles” dialogue. Both unacceptable per our office standards. Tough being 2 versions of AutoCAD behind office wide, because of such a minor bug but our keynoting has looked the same since 1992 and I really thought it would have been fixed since posting after the release of 2012.
Attached is a .dwg or you can follow these instructions. Start a new drawing, go in to “Annotate”, Click “Leaders”, hit “new”. Name it whatever you like, I’ve named mine “Test”. Under “Leader Structure”, uncheck “Automatically include landing”. Under “Content” change “Multileader type:” to “Block”, “Source block” to “Circle”(this setting can be set to anything), and “Attachment:” to “insertion point”. Hit “O.K.”, highlight your newly created Multileader style, hit “Set Current”, and close out. Test your new multileader style and notice the dot.

In the view panel the symbol looks correct, but when I select the multileader with this datum style and add it to my drawing it appears as an unfilled triangle!

Aug 17, 2009I would like to try and set up a Multileader that reads the description of a block.
For example when I am making the block I would like to put some descriptive text that may say "Post top insert connected to haboe pin"
After the block is compelted and placed into a new drawing I would then select the multi leader option and then it would automtically fill in the text. (from the pre-defined description)
I would like it to be similar to a callout in solidworks.

AutoCad :: How To Circle Multileader Text
Dec 5, 2012I am trying to circle one of the letters and each will receive a number sequence afterwards for the comm addresses (is what I want to do anyway). This is a gov project so I have to ensure everything is addressed properly.
Circling the prefix would make this look ideal but I don't know if there's a way to do it. I tried looking but couldn't find a way to do it.
The only way I could think to do it is do it manually with attdef and create a defined block with the prefix area already circled.

The guy who used to work here made this text with a tolerance to a radius measurement. The tolerance is smaller ( no problem with that), but also adjusted to the top of the line.

AutoCAD 2013 :: Xref Causing Newly Inserted Blocks To Not Appear?
Dec 10, 2013We are having a problem with blocks not appearing after xreferencing a drawing. We can place blocks as normal from the tool palette, but as soon as we xreference a 2D site plan and select blocks from the tool palette, they will not place. You can see them when placing, but once you click to place it, the block does not appear. I have copied out the site plan to a new dwg file, still does the same thing. Everything has been purged and ran an audit in the plan drawing and also the site plan drawing. The block does not show up in the block editor either. I am trying to avoid redrawing the site plan like we had done with two models that were doing the same thing. Remodeling a vessel and rebuilding a skid composite corrected the problem with two other drawings, but redrawing this site plan would take considerable time.

AutoCad :: Multileader Text Size Is All Over The Place?
Feb 11, 2011When I try to create a multileader the text size is throwing me off. I draw the arrowhead location and landing with no problem, then the text box pops up. As I am typing the text into the textbox it shows up on the screen as if it was a text height of about 5, however it is actually 0.18. As soon as I click off the text box to complete the multileader the text shrinks down to the actual size of 0.18.
I want the height to be 5 but when I change it to 5 the text box shows up as huge, like it is about 200 or something even though it is actual 5. The textbox takes up most of the screen, as soon as I click of the text box to complete the multileader it shows up as a normal height of 5 and looks correct. This is so annoying. Multileader is the only tool that does this. A simple multiline text box works fine; as I am entering the text it is the same size the entire time, visually and actually.
