I have some new multi leader definitions using blocks, however I can only edit the attribute definition text individually, where if I had the same block as a standalone with a leader I could select as many blocks as I wanted and change the text via quick properties in one quick step. Is there a way to achieve this using a block as a base for a multileader?
View 2 RepliesIn previous versions of AutoCad I would just double click on a block do my changes click the save changes button and then a save dialogue would come up with an option to change the insert point. Did this option go away in 2013 AutoCAD? I do not get this option anymore after I finish editing a block? This is very useful. Why would this go away?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed Autocad 2013 a few weeks ago and I have a lot of blocks made with earlier versions (2008, 2012, etc...) that I need to use. When I try to edit such a block, block editor gives me trouble with visibility states. I can't select visibility states, and when I can, the changes made to that state don't follow and often the program reverts back to the first visibility state for no reason. This is getting to be extremely annoying and I'm thinking of going back to 2012 because of this. Is there a patch or some way to correct this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy company has a template setup with an elevation callout for curb and gutter. The callout displays a box around two elevations (TC and G). The TC and G Labels after the elevations only show up in paper space on a 1"=1' scale, which is how the referenced block was set up. I need the labels to show up in 1:20 and/or 1:40 scale in paper space but only the elevations appear. I edited and saved the referenced block but the changes don't appear to have taken to the template.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI noticed that some multileader move when editing and some do not. This is very frustrating. Usually this seems to happened when annotative scale is on. I tried to avoid this happening by turning off annotative scale and this does not work. Instead I go to another file to find the other multileader text that doesn't move when I edit. I tried to find what causing this shift in the properties menu but can't see the difference between the two.
How to stop the multileader shifting!? Is this a bug?
I have received details that have been blocked that I need to edit. When I expode or burst them, the dims text and arrows grow larger than is required for the block and I cannot find any adjustment in the properties to bring them back to the correct size for the detail. Also the leaders lose their point and association with their text and become just a line.
Is there a command that will allow me to edit the block without loosing the current sizing and associations?
I would like to try and set up a Multileader that reads the description of a block.
For example when I am making the block I would like to put some descriptive text that may say "Post top insert connected to haboe pin"
After the block is compelted and placed into a new drawing I would then select the multi leader option and then it would automtically fill in the text. (from the pre-defined description)
I would like it to be similar to a callout in solidworks.
I'm fairly new to using annotative objects, and I am having a lot of trouble with blocks and annotative multileaders.
I made a custom block (_ValveCallout) to be used in an annotative multileader, which was working perfectly, until I needed to edit the block I was using in the multileader. After I redefined the block, the attributes in the block seem to be displayed at the wrong scale, and the border around them isn't even showing at all. I have to redraw every multileader if I have to make a change to the block.
Is it possible to change the default size of the block circle of the multileader and also the text size and style? If so how do I do it?

I dont know if its just a Monday or what, but where are the blocks stored??? I mapped their location in the work support path and I inserted the blocks into the drawing but when I go to select them from the "Select Custom Content Block" drop down they are not in there???
Where are these block files coming from? How do I map my autocad to bring up these blocks?
When using grips to move a multileader source block with the attachment defined as insertion point (the insertion point being the center of the source block) the grip point moves off of the block if the move is to the left of the multileaders end point. When the drawing is reopened the blocks move from where they were placed to the off insertion point grips. A screen shots jpg and a drawing file are attached

Maybe it was a naive of me to charge in so boldly. The field appears to have made it in but it does not act like a field and does not reflect the correct value or update. In fact I get no response at all. In fact using "update field" "all" selects the fields but reports that they are locked.
My multileader style uses a block as a content. How can I find world coordinates of insertion point of block entity within multileaders?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI created a Multileader style in AutoCAD LT 2011 that duplicated our Architectural firms standards from previous versions. Pretty simple. The problem is, when utilized using AutoCAD LT 2012, AutoCAD LT 2013, AutoCAD 2012, or AutoCAD 2013, a small dot appears in the keynote bubble. (it also plots) Workarounds include checking “Automatically include landing” and/or changing “Content – Insertion point” to “Content – Center Extents”, in the “Modify Multileader Styles” dialogue. Both unacceptable per our office standards. Tough being 2 versions of AutoCAD behind office wide, because of such a minor bug but our keynoting has looked the same since 1992 and I really thought it would have been fixed since posting after the release of 2012.
Attached is a .dwg or you can follow these instructions. Start a new drawing, go in to “Annotate”, Click “Leaders”, hit “new”. Name it whatever you like, I’ve named mine “Test”. Under “Leader Structure”, uncheck “Automatically include landing”. Under “Content” change “Multileader type:” to “Block”, “Source block” to “Circle”(this setting can be set to anything), and “Attachment:” to “insertion point”. Hit “O.K.”, highlight your newly created Multileader style, hit “Set Current”, and close out. Test your new multileader style and notice the dot.
When editing block in-place, not onely objects in the block, but also other objects (just drawn normal in modelspace), is affected by the commands.

Some of my users are experiencing a long time to regen & it has caused some peoples computers to freeze up. Is there a setting or a variable that could be causing this? I am not sure if this is an issue with the multileaders or with autocad release 13 or 14 in general. I had the users turn regenauto off until i can find a solution.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe use a number of blocks with block tables for data extraction here, and whenever one of the blocks is modified and updated, all of the block tables reset to the default value. This happens for any block reference change, not just changes to the block table (which makes sense that it would reset).
How can we update these blocks without having to manually change all of the block tables afterwards?
I am in the process of fixing one of our dynamic blocks. It's a fairly simple fix where there was a typo in one of the names of our items in the lookup that needed to be fixed.
I changed the name of the item in the lookup table. I went and did the test block and it seemed to work fine, but when I bring the block into a drawing, it reverts back to the old lookup as if I did nothing at all.
I made sure that the path was correct and I even just dragged and dropped straight from Windows Explorer to no avail.Does AutoCAD keep referring to the old block? Did I forget to change something else?
my problem is whenever i make a new block a stretch point appears even if its not a dynamic block . also its not a stretch point, because when i click on it, it just move the block , and it always appear on the coordinates 0,0 it cause me a problem when I insert the block , autocad use this point as a base point , and its very far from the real block .

Drawing 1 : Contains tree blocks that have a specific scale dependant on the tree size
Drawing 2 : Contains a block with just a point and attribute data about the tree (name, size etc.)
This block is approximatly at the same location as the tree block (0,1 m precision)
Problem I want to join these two items together. In other words, in the tree block that is scaled correctly i want the attribute data with the name, size etc. These blocks don't have a corresponding unique number or something like that.
I'm trying to edit the attributes in a titleblock using VB.net. The block name is "Titleblock". It is already inserted into a drawing. My program does not need to insert it. It only needs to find the reference, for all layouts, and update a couple attributes for the titleblock on everylayout. I know some of the basics, but get confused with blocktables, and blocktablerecords.

I edited a block in a drawing which had exactly the lineweight I wanted in my layout. After I edited it I lost the lineweight. If I try to change the lineweight for that layer it only affects the attribute. What I did and how I can get it back the way it was?
