AutoCAD 2013 :: Editing Architectural Title Block - Cannot Insert Into Drawing
Mar 5, 2013
I'm trying to edit an architectural Title Block. I've went into block editor and did attribute definitions. However, when I save it I can't insert it into a drawing. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening?
In previous versions of AutoCad I would just double click on a block do my changes click the save changes button and then a save dialogue would come up with an option to change the insert point. Did this option go away in 2013 AutoCAD? I do not get this option anymore after I finish editing a block? This is very useful. Why would this go away?
I created and saved a title block as a .dwt file, with no problems. When I open my title block, I cannot get a 3D assembly drawing to show as a 3D drawing in the title block on the layout tab. If I transfer the title block to the model space, it rotates to the same usc as the assembly drawing?
I have searched high and low and still could not find a tutorial to really explain how to create a drawing title with attributes (Detail Number, Sheet Number, Detail Title, Detail Scale). All I find are on creating dynamic block, which I could achieve, but I need one for a block that has (or will have) attributes.
I was able to find a tutorial on attributed door numbers, but it does not work for drawing titles that has attributes. GOAL: I would like to have all my seven drawing titles in one file and to be able to stretch the leg of any selected title to a desired length.
Is it possible to create a block to insert on our title block that will populate itself with a list of drawings and names?
I know this is possible through the use of LISP and the Sheet Set Manager, but could this be done through a combination of attributes and fields (we want the same functionality in LT).
I'm editing a title block using the Block Editor. Unfortunatelly after closing the block editor the linse & Polylines reflect the changes apported in nodel space, but the text did not mouve?
I'm trying to insert our company logo (a DXF file) into the a title block definition however the insertion point seems to default to 0,0.How can I insert it with a user defined insertion point?
You will see from the attached screen snipe what I mean about being forced to insert it at the 0,0, coordinates. I'd like to insert it into clear space then scale it and move it into replace the existing logo.
1. I want to all selected profiles or blocks set to one object, than continue to select second object,(see attached drawing file). How to write the "ssget" lisp.
2. Command "line" ask me specify next point.
3. Found object boundary prompt me to "select oblect", when i selected profile, with the error: bad argument type: consp.
I been working through Ellen Finklesteins AutoCad bible (using AutoCad Architecture 2012) and in the first exercise (quick start, drawing a window) I was going ok until I had to edit the title block and no matter what I tried in AutoCad Architecture 2012 I could not find a way to edit the title block. Maybe I should have bought a book that was specific to AutoCad Architecture 2012.
I've been looking for a while and managed to find 2 VBA scripts for replacing values in a title block. However one errors out on the line that is supposed to do the replacing and the other works off an ID number which isn't consistent.
I'm a proficient scripter but not in this language, so how these scripts are working but not the intricacies of them. Which Is exactly what I think is needed to get either of them working.
Function Test_UpdateTitleBlock()Dim oDoc As DrawingDocumentSet oDoc = ThisApplication.ActiveDocumentDim oTitleBlock As TitleBlockDim oTextBox As TextBoxDim oSheet As SheetFor Each oSheet In oDoc.Sheets Set oTitleBlock = oSheet.TitleBlock For Each oTextBox In oTitleBlock.Definition.Sketch.TextBoxes If oTextBox.Text = "<FILENAME AND PATH>" Then ' Errors here and doesn't replace text Call oTitleBlock.SetPromptResultText(oTextBox, "New Value") End If NextNextEnd Function
This throws an error on the line I have marked.
Function Remove_Filepath()Dim oDrawDoc As DrawingDocumentSet oDrawDoc = ThisApplication.ActiveDocument' Create the new title block defintion.Dim oTitleBlockDef As TitleBlockDefinitionSet oTitleBlockDef = oDrawDoc.ActiveSheet.TitleBlock.DefinitionDim oSketch As DrawingSketchCall oTitleBlockDef.Edit(oSketch)oSketch.TextBoxes.Item(20).Text = " "Call oTitleBlockDef.ExitEditEnd Function
This one works great, except that it does a "dumb" replace because it looks for the Xth textbox and edits that. The problem is in a detail drawing I want to edit textbox 20 but in assembly drawings I don't want to edit any textbox. So how to get this to loop through the textboxes and compare the text to what I want to replace.
I have just finished my design and I wanted to insert a title block and annotations with pictures using the paperspace option. I want to print the design out onto A1 Paper (80000mm x 56000mm) to a 1:100 scale.
What I want to know is what is the dashed line, how do I make the paperspace A1 size and a 1:100 scale, as well as wanting to know how to make the title block and add annotations to the design.
One problem I am facing is that any line I do create comes out bold as well as when I zoom into the drawing itself every line is bold. Why is this?
I've created a Title Block Family and when I bring it into the project I want to be able to edit the text on the project without having to go into the Family and edit it from there, how do I do this?
I created a standard title block template drawing for my student classwork exercises, and when I constructed the title block I keyed in real dimensions to ensure the title block would completely print on a piece of 8.5 X 11 paper. Now whenever I attempt to draw a large scale drawing (say a 36" dia circle, it draws the circle well outside my title block. I know why this is happening, I just need some tips about how to allow a title block template to be constructed around my current drawing reguardless of the drawing scale.
Is there an add in or something for faster type in the title block in a drawing? Name, title etc?
Right now the author and date are automatically but when i save the file to for example to "D1234 hammer" it becomes the part number.
I have to edit the title.
I want to save the file to "D1234 hammer" and the partnumber to be "D1234" and title "hammer".
IS there a add-in that I type the title and name and its auto fill the title block? Or do I have to create a custom title block so the drawing can understand to only to take the numbers from <part name> and the letters becomes <title>?
We are going to be making a new title block and I have been looking at ways to get the new title block into the old drawings. It looks like the Inventor Drawing and Resource Wizard is the way to go.
The steps seem pretty straight forward and simple but I am not getting the correct results. For the source drawing I select my new title block and leave the boxes for borders, my new title block name, and sketched symbols checked. I then pick my drawing I want to get the new title block in. On the last step I can select Yes or No and get the same results. When I reopen Inventor and the drawing it still has the old title block in it.
i have a more then 10 folder with one common x-ref i want to attached that x-ref like title block in all folder drawing how i ll attached in easy way also i want multi printing folder how can i send print in one time all folder
I am trying put drawing numbers on my drawings. The drawing number is "019-02-00038-x" where "x" is the page number in the set of drawings. How do I set this up? Every time I try to change "x" it changes it for the entire set of drawings.
find a template with a title block that i can insert my information. I already have my project completed on a 24x36 sheet and would just like to copy it over.
I created a drawing in model space about 75' x 75'. Then created a title block drawing in paper space. Now would like to mesh the two so I can plot the drawing with title block. When I insert the title block drawing it is so tiny it can't be seen. What am I doing wrong?
I need to extract data from AutoCad Drawing using C# or VB.Net.
I have a Title Block which is not inserted using attributes. It has some horizontal & vertical lines drawn to look like a table and text added between them. See the attchment.
I need to extract data from that and display in Ms-Excel or in a datagridview.
Is there a way i can insert a title block through the design center by selecting the the layout and dragging it in. When i bring it in it gives me just the blank paper without the title block.
I would like to be able to collect information from a drawing via a sub-form and then insert a block with attributes (populated with collected info) into another open drawing. The insert operation would be launched from a button on my sub form.
Is this possible?
From the code below I attempted a test to simply select a point from another open drawing but was not successful. However, once I closed both forms the target drawing file is activated.
Private Sub Button2_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button2.Click Me.Hide() Dim docMgr As DocumentCollection = Autodesk.AutoCAD.ApplicationServices.Application.DocumentManager Dim i As Integer = 0 For Each doc As Document In docMgr
I was curious, when creating multi sheet drawings, how can I place different information in the title block on each drawing?
Example, 2 pages, Description on page 1 = PAGE 1 DESC, by default this same description will show up on all subsequent pages. How do I get page 2 description to be different?
Can I pre-fill some of text in my drawing’s title block under the “Field Text” –“Edit Property Fields” ? Because some of the files I will use the same text again and again, if I can save the pre-fill text title block in the template, it will save me lots of time.
