Using Autocad 2014 and would like away to put a vertical line at the text where the leader meets it. Is this a setting that I'm missing or might there be a Lisp routine to get it? See the attached jpeg.
View 6 RepliesI have a Multileader Style and have the Mtext to come in with "Underline top line". The text sits right where I want such as EXIST. 24 RCP but when I enter something with an inch or foot symbol such as EXIST. 24" RCP the text will end up sitting right on the leader line. I don't see where I can set an offset for the Mtext coming in with the leader. What can I do to make this change?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently converted mtext to multileader text & i thought it was causing some issues but now im not so sure. Some of my users are experiencing a long time to regen & it has caused some peoples computers to freeze up. Is there a setting or a variable that could be causing this? I am not sure if this is an issue with the multileaders or with autocad release 13 or 14 in general. I had the users turn regenauto off until i can find a solution.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have some new multi leader definitions using blocks, however I can only edit the attribute definition text individually, where if I had the same block as a standalone with a leader I could select as many blocks as I wanted and change the text via quick properties in one quick step. Is there a way to achieve this using a block as a base for a multileader?

View 4 Replies View RelatedFor a current assignment I have created a drawing with several property lots. I am supposed to label the lengths of the lot borders. However, I am having difficulty doing this. I would like text to appear on/above the top line of each block, but I cannot seem to find a way to get the curser to appear on the line. My first question is whether or not this is even possible. How to do this online and come up with nothing. Secondly, if it is possible to add text to a line could this text then be centered?
If this is not at all possible, what is the closest alternative method for inputting text on a line that is centered between the lot corners?
I created a Multileader style in AutoCAD LT 2011 that duplicated our Architectural firms standards from previous versions. Pretty simple. The problem is, when utilized using AutoCAD LT 2012, AutoCAD LT 2013, AutoCAD 2012, or AutoCAD 2013, a small dot appears in the keynote bubble. (it also plots) Workarounds include checking “Automatically include landing” and/or changing “Content – Insertion point” to “Content – Center Extents”, in the “Modify Multileader Styles” dialogue. Both unacceptable per our office standards. Tough being 2 versions of AutoCAD behind office wide, because of such a minor bug but our keynoting has looked the same since 1992 and I really thought it would have been fixed since posting after the release of 2012.
Attached is a .dwg or you can follow these instructions. Start a new drawing, go in to “Annotate”, Click “Leaders”, hit “new”. Name it whatever you like, I’ve named mine “Test”. Under “Leader Structure”, uncheck “Automatically include landing”. Under “Content” change “Multileader type:” to “Block”, “Source block” to “Circle”(this setting can be set to anything), and “Attachment:” to “insertion point”. Hit “O.K.”, highlight your newly created Multileader style, hit “Set Current”, and close out. Test your new multileader style and notice the dot.
I am using autocad lt 2010..I am labeling items in my drawings and the text looks different in some of the leaders. When i check the properties both leaders have all the same properties that i feel are relevant.

In the view panel the symbol looks correct, but when I select the multileader with this datum style and add it to my drawing it appears as an unfilled triangle!
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe are trying to use the "Underline top line" option located in the Content tab of the Modify MultiLeader Style dialog in AutoCAD 2012 (See attachment).
The minor issue we have is that there seems to be no way to adjust the gap between the text and the "underline". In regular dimensions, there is a dimvar called DIMGAP that controls this distance. Is there any way to control the distance between the top line MText and the "underline"?
I would like to try and set up a Multileader that reads the description of a block.
For example when I am making the block I would like to put some descriptive text that may say "Post top insert connected to haboe pin"
After the block is compelted and placed into a new drawing I would then select the multi leader option and then it would automtically fill in the text. (from the pre-defined description)

I have multiple closed areas that i want to show the sq ft. Now i use the command multileader then click to insert a feild.
Select object then area. Now i have a leader with text. Can i extract the text to a table or spreadsheet. Or approach this differently. I use autocad lt 12
I am trying to circle one of the letters and each will receive a number sequence afterwards for the comm addresses (is what I want to do anyway). This is a gov project so I have to ensure everything is addressed properly.
Circling the prefix would make this look ideal but I don't know if there's a way to do it. I tried looking but couldn't find a way to do it.
The only way I could think to do it is do it manually with attdef and create a defined block with the prefix area already circled.

I have a question in regards to using Multileader text. Tolerance.jpg
The guy who used to work here made this text with a tolerance to a radius measurement. The tolerance is smaller ( no problem with that), but also adjusted to the top of the line.
we have several columns of multiline text and draw a line to the left of each column. problem is when the text increases or decreases the number of rows the line does not change. is there a way to have this line dynamically change as the number of rows change? or is there a way to snap a line on the imaginary box around the text?

When I changed a viewport to a different scale....from 1"=1' to 3/4" =1', the text is not appearing to scale. It's very large. The Mtext changed to the correct scale but not the Multileader text. View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a way to convert leader and text that is separate into a multileader where the text is attached to the leader. We just updated to new standards using the multileader and all the old stuff is not attached.
I'm using AutoCad 2009.
When I try to create a multileader the text size is throwing me off. I draw the arrowhead location and landing with no problem, then the text box pops up. As I am typing the text into the textbox it shows up on the screen as if it was a text height of about 5, however it is actually 0.18. As soon as I click off the text box to complete the multileader the text shrinks down to the actual size of 0.18.
I want the height to be 5 but when I change it to 5 the text box shows up as huge, like it is about 200 or something even though it is actual 5. The textbox takes up most of the screen, as soon as I click of the text box to complete the multileader it shows up as a normal height of 5 and looks correct. This is so annoying. Multileader is the only tool that does this. A simple multiline text box works fine; as I am entering the text it is the same size the entire time, visually and actually.

I want to paste text (numbers) into the command line as I am drawing a line.
In AutoCad 2011/2012 if I paste (CTRL+V), then the numbers in the clipboard will be pasted into the command line and all I have to do is push enter.
In AutoCad 2014 if I paste (CTRL+V), AutoCad will paste the clipboard contents as an mtext object into the drawing.
How do I change the behavior of AutoCad so that I can use "CTRL+V" in the command line?
For clarification these are the exact steps I am trying to do:
1. {type L}
2. {click a point in the drawing}
3. {type CTRL+V} // paste a number as a distance into command line
4. {type ENTER}
I know I can right click the command line and select paste. This option is unnacceptable for my use. I want to be able to CTRL+V text into the command line.
I have noticed on several drawings that the multileaders change themselves when the drawing is closed and opened again. I put the multileaders in, they look fine, and when I close and open the drawing the multileader has extended itself across my text. If I edit it it fixes itself but it 'breaks' itself again once I close and open.

The leader is justified to the left of the text. If I drag the position of the leader head to the right hand side of the text, the leader still starts from the left hand side of the text (goes at the bottom of the text) so how would I justify the leader position of a multileader to the right hand side of the text?
I had a quick look in the properties pane earlier although am fairly busy and it is only a trivial issue.
Actually We are trying AutoCAD 2010 and i have a question about multileader i cannot find in the manual.we are used to set a bright background mask under our text (including Mtext, Qleader, Dimensions) this way the printed text can be seen much better in dark area.
Now i'm am upgrading from AutoCAD 2007 and discovering Multileader (and i cannot find the Qleader button on the ribbon) so i conclude the new "standard is multileader", this is annoying because i cannot find anywhere how to put text mask background inside text in mleader. any option available? i would like to begin to use this function, but the text background is mandatory here.
