I have a problem with the zoom and fill patterns in two PCs with Autocad 2012 In both, very often, when I zoom in on the design the fill patterns disappear.
After an update of the image reappear and this is a very big problem for me. The two PCs are both intel I7, one use a nVidia Geforce and other an nVidia Quadro, and I tried different driver versions but without benefits.
I am working on a 3D model using 3D solids and 3D blocks, then I make a render of a view and works fine, but if I make a zoom in to a zone and render it then the 3D blocks disappear showing only the floor (a 3D solid) and sometimes the render is just plain black, after a zoom out everything works fine. I made an Audit, exploded the blocks, even when making a crop render. Attached images explain better.
View 4 Replies View Relatedwhen i started using 2011. I have 2 viewports active; plan and isometric view. But when I try to navigate in the isometric view, the crosshair behaves in a way I don't understand. What happens is that when I zoom in the crosshair disappears over or under what I'm zooming in on.
It's hard to describe, but it seems that it have a different origo then the view represents. When I zoom out so much that the crosshairs are visible and I try to move them upwards, they stop in the middle of the screen and then the marker becomes visible in the ribbon part of the screen.
I have tried detaching all xref's, purged and audit, checked the elevation (0). This only happens in some drawings, not all, and I can't think of a common denominator in the drawings it happens.
Having an issue where in a part model with the view set to "wireframe with hidden edges" the edges and hidden edges disappear when you try to zoom in on the part. Actually not working with "wireframe and visible edges only" at any zoom level either.
The edges are there and I know that there are features that should be showing up as hidden.
Running Quadro FX 3800 with the most current drivers, and I only noticed this when switching to IV 2014.
Also running IV Build 222 SP 1
This is making designing very hard as I can't tell anymore where there are instances of features interfering with each other.

The AutoCAD doesn’t show the “intersect osnap” at certain zoom!
The “intersection osnap” between a “hatched rectangle” and a “DASHDOT2” line appears and disappears depending on the amount of zoom!
As I zoom out the “intersection osnap” appears but when I zoom in, it disappears
Why the "intersection Osnap" should disappear as I zoom in?

I want to show a safety screen (wire mesh) in a 3D model, in order to reduce the file size, I do not want to do solid wire mesh in the model, but the sketch only. I was drawing one by one line and make a hatch cross lines in the sketch, it took me lots of time to draw these lines.
I just load a new mesh, start to pan or zooming and my mesh, dissapear!. So I unhide again, pan or zooming, and hide again.

View 6 Replies View RelatedBeen using Xara Xtreme Pro 5 for several years and this is an issue that happens now. Parts of lines disappear in a drawing at different zoom levels. The drawing might look perfect at one zoom level, but if I zoom in from say 100% to 500% parts of lines disappear from the drawing. The fix is usually having to click on the line or zoom to a different %. I have attached a picture to show the issue. The hat on the left shows the missing part of the line (circled in red), and the hat on the right shows how the line actually is.
If this was happening in a pc game I would describe it as clipping. I'm on a Pentium 4 PC 3 GHz, Win XP SP 3 2 gigs of RAM. GeForce 6200 if this comes into play .
I want to create sections and plans showing interior finishes. As walls are all of the same structure I used the split face tool. When applying 'paint' to the face it only gives me the options of materials not fill patterns i.e. hatches. How do I get it to apply hatches or is there a visibility setting that i need to change.

Is there a way to control the begining or to use the align tool? It seems like Revit will only allow Drafting fill paterns to be used in defining materials "Cut Patterns". But when I try to modify the fill region in a family I'm only given a choice of about six of the patterns.how to "load" the other pattern types.
I've utilized the Plywood-Section detail component out of the Imperial
Library, and it runs left-to-right, no matter the orientation of the element I drew. Messing with the Fill Pattern settings, it looks identical if I set the Plywood-Align pattern to "Align to Element", or "Orient to View". Nothing changes.
I want to use photoshop elements to alter drawings so they look like quilts. I want to import fabric scans as fill colors and patterns. Is this possible?

I have been using AutoCAD Civil 3D lately but went to use my AutoCAD 2011 I noticed I have no hatch patterns. I thought that these patterns were located in the support folder so I got my DVD that has the program on it out and was going to reload AutoCAD to fix the problem. It would not reload it so I copied the support folder to my computer in the AutoCAD file and still nothing. What can I do to get my hatch patterns back?

The problem is thus: I am using the SNAPSHOT tool in Adobe Reader to capture some standard drawings in a PDF to the clipboard. I then paste these captures into AUTOCAD as OLE objects. I have been doing this forever without problems. In this particular drawing when I close and re-open the OLE objects are blank rectangles. The reset button is gray in the OLE object properties so there is no way to reset them. Everytime I remove them and redo the process they are gone when I re-open the drawing. AUDIT runs clean.

Where do I save custom hatch pattertns in autocad? What file? Support? Do they have to be saved one at a timeor can they be saved in a folder?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI opened a drawing that I had not opened in over a month originally created in AutCAD 2011, and now using 2012. It appears only some of the hatch patterns that I created are now duplicated, and in some cases up to 17 times! When I select the pattern it doesn't show that there are multiple hatches underneath, but when selected it shows in the properties box All(2) or more. One of my patterns was scaled down and rotated 90 degrees and because when I select it it's showing 10 entities selected I cannot scale it back or rotate it without deleting and re-hatching. The .dwg is pretty complex so doing this for every hatch that shows multiple would be very tedious.
View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently switched from AutoCAD 2006 to AutoCAD 2012, I have hatch patterns set up for different area, with scale, layer, etc., when inserted using the Tool Palette. Never had an issue with it, but in 2012 it doesn't seem to work. Instead of inserting the hatch with the layer specified in the tool palette, it assigns the hatch pattern whatever layer was used when hatching a previous area, using the hatch dialog box.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhile working in a drawing with civil 3D points and a surface created from those points, once in a while the contours will disappear. The contours disappear during any number of different commands, so it doesn't seem to be linked to a specific set of commands. If we save the drawing, close it, and then open it back up the contours are there with no problems. Is there a fix for it beyond closing and reopening the drawing. We are using Civil 3D 2010 in our office, and all of the current updates.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a student version of AutoCAD 2011. When I render, I can see the materials in the materials browser. However, when I try to attach them by layer, the images of the materials disappear. I only see black boxes. I also get a completely black image when it renders. There is no image at all even though I have lights and cameras on and in place. I read online that I might need to reinstall the materials library. I followed the instructions exactly and reinstalled it, all three sections. Still, I'm getting the same results when I try to render.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOften whatever I'm working on in X4 disappears off the document page when I zoom in or out. It's still there (I can see it in the print preview)and I can print it, but I can't see it no matter what view (e.g., normal, draft, etc.) I select. If I select the entire page I can see the graphic and text handles, but nothing else. The only way I can see my work again is to save it, close the program, and then re-open the file. My computer is a Dell Precision Work Station T3400 running Vista Ultimate with an Intel Core2 Quad CPU, 4GB RAM, and my graphics card is an NVIDIA Quadro FX 570 256MB. All my software and drivers are up to date. The problem occurs no matter what screen resolution or refresh rate I'm using.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded from Autocad LT to Autocad 2012 (full version). When I go to select a hatch pattern by left clicking on it the program locks up. Then I have to "force-close" Autocad 2012 and loose some of my work. It has done this in several diferent drawings. Autocad LT does not have this problem.
I have a HP Z workstation with 6 gigs of ram and an Intel I-5 processor (very fast machine) with a quadro fx 380 grahics card.
I tried reinstalling Autocad 2012 and that didn't work. Not sure what to do.
ACAD Architecture installed as 32-bit on Win 7 64 bit machines w 12 gig ram. My users are using that g.d. CAP studio program, hence the 32 bit install. SP1 is installed as are hotfixes for Ribbon and Dimension issues.
Here's what's happening: most of the time we have no issues with raster images attached to the files. However, every once and a while one of the images decides to not show up. In XREF manager, everythings fine - the paths to raster images are correct (shared network path). The files are loaded, the insertion layers are on. You can close out of AutoCAD and come back in - sometimes the image pops back in.
Even though these are plot settings, I have RASTERPERCENT set to 80, and Raster Threshold set to 120 (although the size of most of these images is around 100k)
My ribbon disappear along with my tool bars and all.
