Sep 14, 2012My problem is: after any command or repeating it, the mouse pointer disappear for few second, when I just have installed the software I won't have this problem.

Apr 21, 2005i dont know why but sometimes my mouse cursor changes to a cross hatch rather than be an arrow or circle? why is it changing and how can i get it back to like a circle?
its very annoying to paint or erase using the cross hatch as the exact area that will be covered is not shown!
AutoCad :: Mouse Pointer Disappear From Time To Time?
Aug 2, 2011I note that from time to time I can't see the counter and this is quite an annoyance. When the invisible pointer hover over or passes over an object, the latter will highlight as usual. I have to close and restart the drawing each time due to this issue. Is there an explanation for it, even a solution to prevent this from happening?
NOTE : This is limited to the drawing area only. I can see the pointer in the menu/toolbar area and outside autocad but not in the drawing area.

Aug 29, 2009I just got a new Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse (MX 5500 Revolution) and I can not pan with the mouse. I love this wireless set up and it was a birthday present so I dont want to just get rid of it. I have the VX Revolution mouse at the office and have no problems with it.

Feb 9, 2012I am using Land Desktop 2004 but I am posting here in hope that 2012 users will have experienced this issue in the past.
The problem is thus: I am using the SNAPSHOT tool in Adobe Reader to capture some standard drawings in a PDF to the clipboard. I then paste these captures into AUTOCAD as OLE objects. I have been doing this forever without problems. In this particular drawing when I close and re-open the OLE objects are blank rectangles. The reset button is gray in the OLE object properties so there is no way to reset them. Everytime I remove them and redo the process they are gone when I re-open the drawing. AUDIT runs clean.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Contours Disappear In 2010
Nov 8, 2013While working in a drawing with civil 3D points and a surface created from those points, once in a while the contours will disappear. The contours disappear during any number of different commands, so it doesn't seem to be linked to a specific set of commands. If we save the drawing, close it, and then open it back up the contours are there with no problems. Is there a fix for it beyond closing and reopening the drawing. We are using Civil 3D 2010 in our office, and all of the current updates.

Apr 9, 2012I have a student version of AutoCAD 2011. When I render, I can see the materials in the materials browser. However, when I try to attach them by layer, the images of the materials disappear. I only see black boxes. I also get a completely black image when it renders. There is no image at all even though I have lights and cameras on and in place. I read online that I might need to reinstall the materials library. I followed the instructions exactly and reinstalled it, all three sections. Still, I'm getting the same results when I try to render.

May 31, 2013I have imported a .dxf file of a surfboard from another program as seen below. My plan is to create various cross sections of the board in order to cut out a wooden frame. It seems like it should be simple enough but I usually use pro/engineer for any 3d stuff and I have had no luck using the section plane feature on autocad so far.

Mar 20, 2012ACAD Architecture installed as 32-bit on Win 7 64 bit machines w 12 gig ram. My users are using that g.d. CAP studio program, hence the 32 bit install. SP1 is installed as are hotfixes for Ribbon and Dimension issues.
Here's what's happening: most of the time we have no issues with raster images attached to the files. However, every once and a while one of the images decides to not show up. In XREF manager, everythings fine - the paths to raster images are correct (shared network path). The files are loaded, the insertion layers are on. You can close out of AutoCAD and come back in - sometimes the image pops back in.
Even though these are plot settings, I have RASTERPERCENT set to 80, and Raster Threshold set to 120 (although the size of most of these images is around 100k)

After an update of the image reappear and this is a very big problem for me. The two PCs are both intel I7, one use a nVidia Geforce and other an nVidia Quadro, and I tried different driver versions but without benefits.

Jan 21, 2012I have a drawing with some annotative blocks. ie Block name "BAR'.
If I insert another drawing (mostly old v2000 files) as a block which also contains blocks named "BAR" (which of course are non-annotative) the Blocks do not show up.
Is there any way to get arround this? Idealy I would like the old file inserted and have the annotion scale of the blocks in the inserted dbg set to the current scale.

Feb 27, 2011We have Win 7 clients connecting to a SBS 2003 server. When using files marked as "make available offline" the computer status shows as being offline when the file listed as needing to be synced. This is when the laptops are connected to the network. This makes the file unavailable to other users. They do not even appear in a directory listing. If they do a Save As, that file appears immediately. This is only happening with the Autocad files. MS Office files work just fine. How can I make the laptops realize that they are online and connected to the server? I read about transparent caching but that seems to be available only on server 2008.

Jan 21, 2013I received a cross section file that was created in Micro Station and need to calculate the cut and fill of the project. There is no way to get the 3D files the cross sections were created from. Everything in the file is exploded and flat.
I was going to hatch under and above the existing grade to find the cut and fill and then thought about the scale of the cross sections. In model space the cross sections are 1=1 H and 1=10 V. When I do a hatch and get the area it is giving it to me way high. If I just divide by 10 I don't think that is right either since the hatch areas are very irregular.
Scale the cross section vertical down by 10 and don't change it horizontally. I don't know if this is possible.
Somehow set the horizontal and vertical scale and hatch above and under to get the areas. I don't know if this is possible either.

And when you double click the wheel it no longer does a zoom extents. When you scroll the wheel it does zoom in and out. My mbuttonpan is set to 1. Not sure if I toggled something on or off.

Jul 25, 2009Im trying out the "Demo"version and now find some anomaly.
If i use in ACAD2007: With "PSELECT" and then "P" or "L" i could select the last marked Object/Selectionset. I had just to select the Object with the mouse. Now in ACAD2010, with this routine i can only select objects which i have selected in a command (before or within).
For example: Draw a few circles and lines. Then copy 3 of them. ESC. And select another few. ESC and then use PSELECT P and it marks the three which i selected to copy and not these i've selected with mouse!
The same in Lisp with: (entget(entlast)) . You aren't able to select those object which where only marked by mouse.I know; mostly you use a command with some objects and then use another with the same objects, and it works. But when you klick ESC or even in Script or Lisp you got problems, and its not very "proper" at all. Is this the new handling with the selection set: feature odr big?

(basically a circle with a arrow, text inside circle showing drawing cross reference). My question is - is there an automated way/library to insert such labels or do I have to create each of them from individual elements and make a block?

Mar 23, 2012My laptop died recently and I had to get a new one then reinstall my AutoCAD 2010 software. Trouble is the mouse wheel no longer zooms or, when held down, pans any more. I have spent the last couple of hours trying to sort this but to no avail - nothing happens when I use the mousewheel at all. SO frustrating as I use this all the time!
I run Windows 7 Pro OS and the mouse is a fairly basic HP model with two buttons and a wheel. (maybe I need to upgrade the thing...!)
