I use IN MODEL SPACE command:
view/ viewports/ two viewports (horizontal or vertical)
just ordinary split window in model space.
I found out that is missing line between viewports. I am looking in options but there is nothing.
Which command or system variable it is???
i am haveing trouble with a viewport that is hiding everything that crosses the rectangular border. The viewport is acting just like a wipeout would. I got this drawing from a client and I can't figure out what is wrong with it. I checked to see if there was actually a frame with the viewport but when I select the viewport it only reads as one object.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to have model space geometry print through a watermark in the layout? My watermark consists of mtext with an arial font placed manually in the layout. It is on it's own layer which is set to print at Shade 40 (plot style tables). Draworder works with other layout objects but not the geometry from the model space viewport. My watermark covers the model space geometry so it is not visible when printed. Is this possible?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI need to change the text line width in model space, not the overall text width or the text line width/weight in paper space. Our mold maker wants to measure that on screen and he wants to set the text line width to 0.060”, while the overall text width fixed.
For example, the text “REMOVE FROM BOAT” is 3” wide total from first letter R to last letter T and height 0.4”. That is easy to do. The hard part is that he wants the line in each letter to be 0.060” (1.5mm) wide. I practiced the true type text which is measurable in model space, but that is fixed with for a certain font with a certain size. I can change from one font to the other and get different thickness but cannot change the width freely to 1.5mm as requested.
What is the command to take a paper space object and send it through the viewport into model space (without copy and paste)?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI then change to my A0 template on a different tab in the same drawing, size up the model in model space within the viewport (everything still fine), then as soon as I scale the model to 1:200 the icons I've added to the drawing (I say icon it's one particular group of icons - CCTV camera icons I've made and added) suddenly become massive and three times the size.
If I add them when already at 1:200 they're fine but it only seems to do this when I actually scale the drawing.

In model space I set the units form my dwg (cm), draw a line (100units). Next i go to paper space, create a viewport. When the viewport scale is set to 1:1 the ploted line is 100mm in length (not 100cm). Why is this so? How should I correct this? Changing of units in model space does not effect the length of the line in paper space.
I was wondering if there was a way to see and adjust paperspace viewports in modelspace. By adjusting viewports in modelspace I would like to be able to adjust the size of my rectangular viewport in modelspace to encompass what I want, while keeping the viewport on paperspace the same size (to encompass the entire print page). I would like my modelspace viewport to simply adjust the zoom in and zoom out of my paperspace viewport.
Any better method than individually zooming in and zooming out and re-adjusting my paperspace viewport.
What i have is a low polymodel that's quite small in scale, i'm modelling around a higher poly model, when i zoom in, the viewport clipping kicks in and parts of the model disappear, so i cant work on the small details. What i need to do is scale up both my low poly and high poly, work on the small details and scale it back down.
In maya there are multiple solutions to this; The first and most obvious would be to increase the near clip in the camera attributes.
The second would be to freeze transformations on the low and high poly, scale up the model, work on it and then scale it back to the value of 1.
The third would be to put both the low and high poly models into a group, scale up the group, work on the model, return the group back to its default size and ungrouping. Personally i would use this method to preserve the original scale values on the low and high poly models.
Is there a way of doing any of the above in 3ds max?
I am running the antique CAD 2004 and went to layouts to start setting up a page. When I drew in the view port, it does not show anything of the model space, zero, zip, nada. Tried "Scale to fit", a new view port with no luck. I opened another project file, it work perfectly, just not this one. It doesn't have any Xref's that I can see, but it does have some proxy objects.

Are there any commands other than DVIEW that allow you to rotate your model space ONLY in the active viewport?
In 2012 Autocad, cannot change from model space to paper space, or paper space to model space without locking up in several drawings.

I can log into another user's computer and open the file fine. But when i use my computer or a brand new computer fitting all Auto CAD specs, it locks up. When I plot I have to reset my settings to the PTE standards every time.
I now get CAD errors when CAD is not even open. Also VTPSUHM barely works. I generally have to restart my computer several times to get it to work.
I cannot get my dashed lines in my model space to show up dashed in my viewport.
I already tried MSLTSCALE = 1 in model space and PSLTSCALE = 1 and LTSCALE = 1 in paperspace.
it did not work.
I am working on a set of architectural drawings, and so far I got about 12 sheets (each sheet is on a paper space layout) of details. I am using AutoCad 2005LT. The text is in paper space and all the drawings in model space. I have to move some details from one layout to another. When I copy the viewport with text to different layout the items in model space don't show off . Is there a way to copy text in paper space along with detail in model space at the same time to a different layout?

I have all of my detail blocks in model space and would like to place fields in the title blocks of the details so that they would show the paper space sheet number that they are being shown on in paper space. I have done some experimenting and cannot seem to get it to work. Or will this just not work?
1.- Details in model space are blocks, and I want to edit the block and insert a field into the detail callout.
2.- I want to have the model space detail read the paper space drawing number, and have the fields change to the proper sheet number.
3.- The result will be the that the model space block fields have changed to the proper detail sheet number shown on the paper space border.
I have a drawing that has several Paper Space tabs, and each tab has one or more viewports.
When I open the drawing, I can see all the information in Paper Space mode, and I can access the Model Space through the viewports, using the MS command. When I switch to Model Space, nothing is displayed.
So I just recieved drawings from a contractor and they placed all the multileaders and details on the paper space but when I go to change the model space things are no longer pointing at the right spot.
What I am trying to do is copy them into model space but.... when I use crtl-c from paper, crtl-v to model it doesn't scale properly.
I have three drawings in modelspace and three viewports in one layout (paperspace), I would like to select each modelspace drawing and assign it to each layout viewport.I'm using Visual Studio 2012, .NET Framework 3.5 and Csharp.

The viewport will show the selected area. find the old VBA code that achived this and the .net code I am trying with. .Net code always gives some exception.

Basically I've got a detail specific to my design, I've extruded all of the layers up to their desired levels etc, but now I want to be able to rotate it all so that instead of these layers being orientated vertically, they are orientated horizontally, if that makes sense. I understand that there is something involved with the UCS but I'm not sure how to get this to work. This may be an issue with my computer as I know my laptop graphics card is pretty rubbish and impacts a lot of 3d programs such as Rhino and SketchUp so this could be the issue here
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been runing LT 2013 for the past couple of months, everything was working fine until recently. Occasionally a viewport will go completely black. I can doule-click into model space and select objects, though I can't really see them. If I delete the viewport and make a new one, the new one works fine (at least for now).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having a very annoying problem where the color and lineweight of my alignment in a viewport is not what it's set to be. I have an alignment with a style that sets all the linework components to a layer named C-STRM-CNTR-N, the color is set to BYLAYER, the linetype set to Continuous, and lineweight set to .80mm (see style_and_layer_screenshots.png). The layer C-STRM-CNTR-N has Cyan as the color, which shows in the Alignment Style dialog box (see style_and_layer_screenshots.png). In the model space everything looks fine (see c3d_model_space_screenshot.png). But in my layout, the alignment is a different color and lineweight (see c3d_layout_screenshot.png).
At first I thought maybe the alignment wasn't on the correct layer, but I checked and it's set correctly. Then I checked to see if the layer C-STRM-CNTR-N had a different color set for the viewport through the layer manager, but it's set to Cyan just like it's supposed to be. I went to the model space and noticed the color is correct. Frustrated and at a loss, I closed C3D, then reopened it and the problem is still there.
Why I can't change the lineweight nor the color of the alignment in this viewport? If I change either of those two settings in the Alignment Style Dialog box nothing changes, but the linetype does change.

When working in paperspace existing or new layout viewports are non-selectable. The viewport boundary is not visible and all layers are turned on and thawed. Is there some sort of toggle to make viewport boundarys visible and selectable?
View 6 Replies View RelatedAm using Autocad 2012 with SP2 downloaded, note the problem does not occur in Autocad 2013... So basically if you open the dwg you will see it opens in paperspace, the viewport is locked to a specific scale etc. Now go into model space where the dwg is, you should be able to zoom around, pan etc fine, problem is when you now go back into the layout or paperspace. You will notice that upon re-entering paperspace that the vport is highlighted, ie there is a thicker outline of the vport boundary, however am still in paperspace according to the tabs. When you now try zooming in or out using the mouse scroll you will notice an additional copy of the viewport is imprinted on the screen. Thats the problem. Doing a few undos will set you back right again.
So far we are inclined to think that its either something to do with the UCS or the units that the program is getting confused with but havent been able to find a solution. Also bear in mind that it seems to work fine in 2013. Its probably something really simple that we've missed but thought would try anyway Will attach the dwg file.
How I would change both the model and paper space thickness of a line in AutoCAD 2004? I've tried changing "line thickness" and "line weight" in the properties dialog box but it doesn't seem to matter whether it's 0 or 9,999,999 or any number, it just looks the same, in both the model space and paper space views.
I have a drawing someone else did that uses polylines of different thickness so I have tried to figure out how they did it. Again, looking at the properties dialog box it seems to make no difference what I set the "line thickness" or "line weight" properties to...the line just stays the same size regardless.
I want to change line thicknesses because I'm designing a surface water pipe layout...I want the pipes to be a lot thicker than the lines that represent the actual building so that they will stand out when I plot the drawing.
line width does not display in either model or paper space, is there a way to make it display without going to print preview?
View 1 Replies View RelatedLet’s say you have a large building plan in model space but there is only one small area of the building that the view port is looking at. Is there a way that you can draw around that viewport and then take that into model space and paste it in the same place so now you have the same area located in both views?
At the moment I need to try and work out where the view is by drawing a rectangle around the correct area of the building and this is time consuming.
I could then trim/delete everything else outside that box.
I have a file thats doing something wierd, when I open it I can see the layouts just fine, the existing viewports show linework from model space. However, when I switch to the model space tab I don't see anything, my mouse cursor dissapears when I move it over the drawing area but reapears when its moved over the ribbon or the prospector/command prompt. Also, when I create a new layout with a new viewport, nothing is displayed in the new viewport. It's like the program cant regen the view? When I went into one of the existing viewports and zoomed out I could see all the linework in model space but when I switch to the model tab it won't show any linework or the UCS indicator or my mouse cursor!?!

I have my lpaperspace dimscale set at 1
In the model space my picture is drawn to scale, so its like 12 feet tall.
when i put the viewport in and get the picture positioned in the viewport, when i dimension the model in the viewport my dims are set according to the paperspace dimscale.
is there a way i set the dimscale in the viewport at a different dimsale then the dimscale set in the paperspace without having to set the dimscale in the model space?
