I've been runing LT 2013 for the past couple of months, everything was working fine until recently. Occasionally a viewport will go completely black. I can doule-click into model space and select objects, though I can't really see them. If I delete the viewport and make a new one, the new one works fine (at least for now).

I am now trying to enter text in model space, but when i enter it, it appears very small at 2.5, only if i enter at 500 it appears ok. In the layout tab the text at 500 appears very large, and when i enter 2.5 it appears ok. I have not made any changes anywhere.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI then change to my A0 template on a different tab in the same drawing, size up the model in model space within the viewport (everything still fine), then as soon as I scale the model to 1:200 the icons I've added to the drawing (I say icon it's one particular group of icons - CCTV camera icons I've made and added) suddenly become massive and three times the size.
If I add them when already at 1:200 they're fine but it only seems to do this when I actually scale the drawing.
For some reason when I place new text or line work in a file it is fine, but when I save the drawing, close it and re-open it all of the text and line work found in model space goes gray. Yet if I place new text and use the match property command on text placed previously, that is now gray, and use it on new text, the new text recieves the attributes of what the previously placed text has minus the appearance of being gray. In my drawing I am using a shape file and a data connect image through planning and analysis.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there was a way to see and adjust paperspace viewports in modelspace. By adjusting viewports in modelspace I would like to be able to adjust the size of my rectangular viewport in modelspace to encompass what I want, while keeping the viewport on paperspace the same size (to encompass the entire print page). I would like my modelspace viewport to simply adjust the zoom in and zoom out of my paperspace viewport.
Any better method than individually zooming in and zooming out and re-adjusting my paperspace viewport.
When I select an image with my marquee tool, It turns the screen black. Is there a fix for this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am running the antique CAD 2004 and went to layouts to start setting up a page. When I drew in the view port, it does not show anything of the model space, zero, zip, nada. Tried "Scale to fit", a new view port with no luck. I opened another project file, it work perfectly, just not this one. It doesn't have any Xref's that I can see, but it does have some proxy objects.

Are there any commands other than DVIEW that allow you to rotate your model space ONLY in the active viewport?
i am haveing trouble with a viewport that is hiding everything that crosses the rectangular border. The viewport is acting just like a wipeout would. I got this drawing from a client and I can't figure out what is wrong with it. I checked to see if there was actually a frame with the viewport but when I select the viewport it only reads as one object.

I already tried MSLTSCALE = 1 in model space and PSLTSCALE = 1 and LTSCALE = 1 in paperspace.

I am working on a set of architectural drawings, and so far I got about 12 sheets (each sheet is on a paper space layout) of details. I am using AutoCad 2005LT. The text is in paper space and all the drawings in model space. I have to move some details from one layout to another. When I copy the viewport with text to different layout the items in model space don't show off . Is there a way to copy text in paper space along with detail in model space at the same time to a different layout?

Is it possible to have model space geometry print through a watermark in the layout? My watermark consists of mtext with an arial font placed manually in the layout. It is on it's own layer which is set to print at Shade 40 (plot style tables). Draworder works with other layout objects but not the geometry from the model space viewport. My watermark covers the model space geometry so it is not visible when printed. Is this possible?

The viewport will show the selected area. find the old VBA code that achived this and the .net code I am trying with. .Net code always gives some exception.

i use white, the same as PS. Never understood why use black, especially as it encourages the use of yellow to draw geometry....so do most ppl use black?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm having a very annoying problem where the color and lineweight of my alignment in a viewport is not what it's set to be. I have an alignment with a style that sets all the linework components to a layer named C-STRM-CNTR-N, the color is set to BYLAYER, the linetype set to Continuous, and lineweight set to .80mm (see style_and_layer_screenshots.png). The layer C-STRM-CNTR-N has Cyan as the color, which shows in the Alignment Style dialog box (see style_and_layer_screenshots.png). In the model space everything looks fine (see c3d_model_space_screenshot.png). But in my layout, the alignment is a different color and lineweight (see c3d_layout_screenshot.png).
At first I thought maybe the alignment wasn't on the correct layer, but I checked and it's set correctly. Then I checked to see if the layer C-STRM-CNTR-N had a different color set for the viewport through the layer manager, but it's set to Cyan just like it's supposed to be. I went to the model space and noticed the color is correct. Frustrated and at a loss, I closed C3D, then reopened it and the problem is still there.
Why I can't change the lineweight nor the color of the alignment in this viewport? If I change either of those two settings in the Alignment Style Dialog box nothing changes, but the linetype does change.

I've got five pages, each with a different viewport. Each viewport is the same scale as the previous one however the text size is not.
Mtext was created under the same style.
How can I change the white background of the model space to the old black one?

the -xref bind command requires explicit names and if I use * it will also bind my titleblock xref in paperspace which I want to avoid.
Looking for a tutorial or some input on how to get my civil engineering (water design) drawings to plot at a 1" = 40' scale (or some other variable of the 1" = xx feet setup). Running AutoCAD Map 3D 2011...and the .DWT files we have in our library USED to show a scale list that included all these engineering scale settings. Where can i learn about the variables/settings/unit settings/scale lists i need to have in my templates to be able to plot at these scales?
View 1 Replies View RelatedLet’s say you have a large building plan in model space but there is only one small area of the building that the view port is looking at. Is there a way that you can draw around that viewport and then take that into model space and paste it in the same place so now you have the same area located in both views?
At the moment I need to try and work out where the view is by drawing a rectangle around the correct area of the building and this is time consuming.
I could then trim/delete everything else outside that box.
why the drawing plots results using the viewport scale in the layout is not accurate?

View 7 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded my PC and before when I select plot quality "high graphics" the spreadsheet comes out low resolution, if I use monochrome spreadsheets came out perfectly defined.
Now with the new PC High graphics still comes out the same but when I select monochrome all I get is a solid black block. If the OLE object is an image (BMP) it comes out perfect with monochrome,it only happens with excel files
I search the forums for an answer but the closest I found was changing the OLE type under properties (currently is embedded); problem is the field is grayed out and cannot be changed just as the source application (ms excel 2003)
By the way, on the older files created with my old PC if I just open and print them from the new computer they come out perfect; if I open the OLE file and modify it, the solid black block shows up regardless if I print to PDF or print on paper.
I am using PER 6 on OS 10.9.1. When I type to enter text on a photo the picture turns a reddish color and no text appears. What am I doing wrong?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have this problem with my MText Background Mask. You can take a look at the two attachments. Each one gives me the same issue, but with different MText objects. I'm also plotting to a KIP5000 and a SHARP All in One, and I get similar results, except in some of the MText, they come out in a random color as well. The pc3's for all devices are set to Lines Merge.
The text is actually part of an xref file, and if I plot directly from the file they are in, I have no problem. I did a test where I copied the text into the sheet file, and got similar results when the text is in modelspace, and I got my intended results when the text is in paperspace. Now, this is the way I want to go...but the company standard is to draw it all in the xref, so I have to figure out how to get around this.
I've gone back and forth with the Merge/Overwrite options in the pc3, and when plotting to PDF and SHARP, I get the correct output with Overwrite, but the KIP just completely ignores the background mask with Overwrite.
When pressing Enter/Return to commit a marquee selection the Feather box turns white for input (and I'm not trying to change the feather values)!?
Pressing Enter/Return should commit the selection but it doesn't why? I have not changed any short-cut preferences in PS CS6.
When I use the Marquee or Lasso tool and make a selection and I'm happy with the selection, I press the Enter (PC)/Return(Mac) and the the "marching ants" should disappear..this has always worked until today? Now, when I press the Enter key, the Feather box (next to the Anti-alias) on the upper left corner goes from grey to white and wants me to change the value?
In 2008, never had this issue.Just dumb, circles, and lines in a view port, that have hidden or center linetyoes assigned to them. When we go to plot using legacy hidden (this new for 2012?) the plot comes out with continuous lines. These are not solids. Just ordinary line entities.Now, when I change the shadeplot to "hidden" the linetype is shown correctly, but now my entities are coloured, when I just want my drawing to be black and white (going to PDF), even though all of the colours in the pen style are set to "Black".
Has this changed? Is there a new variable introduced?
