the perspective viewport suddenly turns to a red ground with yellow objects. when I zoom in/out, the graphics return to normal, but only momentarily. this is not occurring in the other viewports. is this a video card issue or should I redownload and reinstall the software? my video card is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670.
View 6 RepliesI want to have a white rectangle, without a black or other border, sitting on a pale yellow ground. But so the rectangle does not look pasted onto the ground, I want a drop shadow around two of the sides. I do not want to use a plugin for this.

I'm not sure what i changed but when im trying to sketch a line usually the little cursor turns from yellow to green when it snaps to an edge or a center. but its not snapping, how to get my line snap back.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI often produce graphics in CorelDRAW, export it as en eps file and insert it inside a MS Word document as an image and finally convert it to pdf. This way my vector graphics (often linedrawings with or without fill) usually is preserved in the final pdf document. I can zoom in and the lines keep on displaying perfectly sharp. This is important, since it easily looks bad when thin lines are turned into bitmaps, even when watched from a distance.
Now, in some graphics I created today, I had a circle with fountain fill and outline (symbolizing a sphere) put behind a filled rectangle, which had a uniform transparency applied to it. In the resulting pdf file, the 'sphere' was turned into bitmap. Inside CorelDRAW everything was vector graphics, but something was loast in the process. what happens with the graphics in the different steps in the process and eventually could explain a workaround to make everything look as vector in the final pdf file.
I've been runing LT 2013 for the past couple of months, everything was working fine until recently. Occasionally a viewport will go completely black. I can doule-click into model space and select objects, though I can't really see them. If I delete the viewport and make a new one, the new one works fine (at least for now).

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm working in Adobe CC Illustrator on a MacBook Pro.When I click on an obect or text it is bounded by yellow. The background of my page is white. Yellow on white is irritating and hard to differentiate. I tried modifying my preferences, but nothing changes.
Change that highlight color to blue, red, purple.... anything but yellow? I need to delete preferences?
how it works?, the objects are yellow in model space and white on paper space??
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have just downloaded 3dmax design 2012 and on creating a basic object (a box)it emerges in a slow shower of litle dots very like sparks. This may be vertices or a point cloud whatever. They then stay in view , when viewing the box from another angle then the surface seems to swirl with patterns. I dont have this problem on my previous 2009 version.

I have tried changing the shading styles, other things like clipping, xview. Even restarted 3ds max for that matter but no luck.
I'm working on this massive architecture scene and i'm trying to move some rather small braided steel cable in the scene when i go to move it the objects moves in rather big increments instead of small ones. I check to see if snaps was on and its not, on what i can do to can more precision over my placement of these cables.

The company I now work for does everything in 3D with vanilla AutoCAN'T, 2012-2014. There are only a few 2D objects in any file. The problem I'm running into is when dimensioning the 3D geometry in paperspace, the dimensions will not always stay anchored to the points that I've snapped to. If I have to go into the block editor the dimensions will fly all over the place when I exit it.
VIEWBASE really useful to alleviate this problem, but not everyone is on the same version and we're saving back to a 2010 format which creates proxy objects when opened on another machine. I'm not sure if I have the freedom to start using it.
I have some viewports in paper space and when I resize the view port, the objects inside move in a strange way. I don't know if a variable got reset or something but this is weird. Normally I can resize a viewport and the objects stay in the same location. But now they seem to be moving relative to the edge of the viewport.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a max file that have objects with vray materials. I do not have vray in my computer because I use mental ray to render. Problem is, 3Ds Max seems to lag and freeze. So when i installed a trial version of VRay, the file worked just fine and there is no viewport lag. But when the trial is over, my viewports started lagging again. The whole PC lags and it seems as if 3ds max is using the pc at 100%. I practically can't work on the file. I don't want to have to purchase vray only for the purpose ot making the file work.
Is this an issue to be fixed by Autodesk or Chaos Group?
First I click in my viewport and select a few objects (lines/blocks etc) then whenever I type Pan or hold down my center mouse button to Pan. The Command line says the Viewport is viewlocked switching to paper space.
Now by switching to paper space everything I selected has now unselected. This basically leaves me the option to select what I see on the screen at one time and can't pan along and select anything else which is unbelievably frustrating on large drawings.
Can you freeze text objects on the same layer in one viewport but have it still appear on the other viewport without having two separate layers.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI believe there is a way to create a block of displayed objects that are shown within viewport. I know I have done this before with basic Autocad. The closest thing at the moment that I can think of is "SOLPROF" but that only works for 3D objects.
The way I remember the command working was you started off with the command, select the objects with the viewport/or maybe it was just the viewport, the command made an instantaneous block of the objects that were only within the display area.
When I copy a viewport in a layout it does not create another viewport, only a poly line.....

View 5 Replies View RelatedProblem: When I create a new viewport, another viewport's paperspace blanks out or disappears. When I copy a viewport over, the new VP doesn't show anything and you can't maximize/"enter" its paperspace; it's like a simple rectangle, but the properties box says it is indeed a viewport.
Ex. Viewport 1 shows the top view of an object, Viewport 2 shows the right side view... as soon as I add Viewport 3, the top view in VP 1 blacks out. I attempt to ReDraw, Regenerate, etc, but it doesn't re-appear. I've run Plot Preview to see if maybe it's just a fluke with the graphics card on my screen, but alas, even in plot preview the viewport is blanked out.
It almost seems like there is a limited number of viewports I can use.
Solution: Run the MaxActVP command and set the value to a number greater than the number of VPs you actually need. This particular file had that value set at 2; hence, why a new, third VP blanked out the first one.
I have a drawing with a viewport that fits to the page. And I created another smaller viewport over top that just shows the legend. Now when I try to double click inside the smaller viewport it always goes into the larger one. I have tried bringing the smaller one to the front but that didn't work. I know that I can clip the larger viewport around the smaller one or bring the legend right into paperspace or slid the smaller one off to the side work in it and slide it back. This is more out of curiosity of how to get into the smaller viewport.

the odd thing is it never finds the frozen viewports on the first viewport. It catches the others fine.I cannot see anything odd either, the counts of viewports and layers are all correct, and the drawing has no problems.Is there something that must be done to initialize the mechanism that reads viewport overrides?

This is something I do quite a lot using the multibody part > derived part > assembly workflow. Apart from saving time it would save cluttering up the model browser. In the meantime is there a scripting method of doing this with one click? IV2013

We here at work have recently implemented using the survey database feature in CAD as a better way of manipulating and organizing points in our drawings. However, we have begun to notice a few issues with how the survey database imports points (?).
Sometimes, and I say sometimes because it is very sporratic, some drawings exhibit the issue and some do not, the points will be skewed off the linework (we are converting existing projects to the survey database). In these situations I find that the Northing and Easting don't match the ascii file it was imported from, instead the "Grid Northing" and "Grid Easting" do. Also, some drawings will have a slightly different Grid Northing and Grid Easting vs Northing and Easting, whereas some drawings will have the exact coordinates for both sets of fields. I believe the issue is one and same.
Our points handling goes like this, Data Collector--->TBC (where ground to grid and scaling is performed)---->exported to ascii file------>Imported to CAD.
This is very confusing and irritating at the same time, and really counterproductive to be troubleshooting why our points keep moving. Redrawing the linework is NOT an option, we'll sooner go back to simple ascii file imports (where the problem is NOT present) then have to redo all of our work on our projects.
