All the object on the scene are invisible in 1 viewport, even if I switch the viewport to other cameras they are still not visible.
I have tried changing the shading styles, other things like clipping, xview. Even restarted 3ds max for that matter but no luck.
For Max design 2012 x64 (running on Win7 Ultimate with Geforce 9800GT) I get an invisible marquee selection box when trying to select anything in any viewport.
I’ve update Max with Sp2 and Hot fix 2 but they have no effect.
I’ve updated graphics card drivers to the latest available.
I have the View cube switched off.
Is there anything else I can try?
So I'm learning about the whole new world of options with using imported .shp files in CAD and I'm unable to find a way to make a .shp file invisible in a viewport. I know I'm very close to it as there are a bunch of new contexual tabs that pop up when I select the .shp objects. It just seems that the layer control for traditional CAD does not apply through the MAPWSPACE toolspace window.

Okay so im doing a coursework for university on autocad 2014 education version, at home i had done a vast amount of work on my laptop, went to university opened the file off the usb stick i have it saved on and done some more work to the coursework and saved it. Now that i try to open the file on my laptop some very few objects appear, all the layers are set to visible
Edit - each time i re-open the file some different random objects become visible while otheres dissapear.
I have a large number of objects, paths, multiple copies, texts etc. under the visible (on the top) object which is larger and completely covers all unusable object bellow. How can I easily delete or weld INVISIBLE objects from composition?

To take as an example, I am working on a file reported to be having unwanted entities when loaded through our importer. This file when loaded in AutoCAD shows proxy entity and nothing else. When I do "zoom to extents" and select the visible entities by selection window, it shows
Select objects: Specify opposite corner: 5767 found, 1988 groups
Now if I do the selection and say "select: all" instead of using selection window it shows:
Select objects: all
5805 found
9 were on a locked layer.
2 were not in current space.
So apparently there are 38 (5805 - 5767) objects which are either invisible or ignored by AutoCAD when I do "zoom to extents".
1. Is there any way in AutoCAD to make all the objects visible?
2. Why "Zoom to Extents" must be ignoring these objects?
3. What is the meaning of "2 were not in current space."? Does that mean, that the drawing file is simultaneously referring to two Coordinate Systems?
Soms of the objects in my 3D view "disappear" when clicking on it. The edges are still visible while the rest of the objects get invisible. This is only the case for some objects in my 3D view. I have no problem with the visibility of the objects in the structural plans or elsewhere. How can I make all objects visible in 3D again when clicking on them?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just downloaded 3dmax design 2012 and on creating a basic object (a box)it emerges in a slow shower of litle dots very like sparks. This may be vertices or a point cloud whatever. They then stay in view , when viewing the box from another angle then the surface seems to swirl with patterns. I dont have this problem on my previous 2009 version.

The company I now work for does everything in 3D with vanilla AutoCAN'T, 2012-2014. There are only a few 2D objects in any file. The problem I'm running into is when dimensioning the 3D geometry in paperspace, the dimensions will not always stay anchored to the points that I've snapped to. If I have to go into the block editor the dimensions will fly all over the place when I exit it.
VIEWBASE really useful to alleviate this problem, but not everyone is on the same version and we're saving back to a 2010 format which creates proxy objects when opened on another machine. I'm not sure if I have the freedom to start using it.
I have some viewports in paper space and when I resize the view port, the objects inside move in a strange way. I don't know if a variable got reset or something but this is weird. Normally I can resize a viewport and the objects stay in the same location. But now they seem to be moving relative to the edge of the viewport.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a max file that have objects with vray materials. I do not have vray in my computer because I use mental ray to render. Problem is, 3Ds Max seems to lag and freeze. So when i installed a trial version of VRay, the file worked just fine and there is no viewport lag. But when the trial is over, my viewports started lagging again. The whole PC lags and it seems as if 3ds max is using the pc at 100%. I practically can't work on the file. I don't want to have to purchase vray only for the purpose ot making the file work.
Is this an issue to be fixed by Autodesk or Chaos Group?
First I click in my viewport and select a few objects (lines/blocks etc) then whenever I type Pan or hold down my center mouse button to Pan. The Command line says the Viewport is viewlocked switching to paper space.
Now by switching to paper space everything I selected has now unselected. This basically leaves me the option to select what I see on the screen at one time and can't pan along and select anything else which is unbelievably frustrating on large drawings.
Can you freeze text objects on the same layer in one viewport but have it still appear on the other viewport without having two separate layers.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI believe there is a way to create a block of displayed objects that are shown within viewport. I know I have done this before with basic Autocad. The closest thing at the moment that I can think of is "SOLPROF" but that only works for 3D objects.
The way I remember the command working was you started off with the command, select the objects with the viewport/or maybe it was just the viewport, the command made an instantaneous block of the objects that were only within the display area.
When I copy a viewport in a layout it does not create another viewport, only a poly line.....

View 5 Replies View RelatedProblem: When I create a new viewport, another viewport's paperspace blanks out or disappears. When I copy a viewport over, the new VP doesn't show anything and you can't maximize/"enter" its paperspace; it's like a simple rectangle, but the properties box says it is indeed a viewport.
Ex. Viewport 1 shows the top view of an object, Viewport 2 shows the right side view... as soon as I add Viewport 3, the top view in VP 1 blacks out. I attempt to ReDraw, Regenerate, etc, but it doesn't re-appear. I've run Plot Preview to see if maybe it's just a fluke with the graphics card on my screen, but alas, even in plot preview the viewport is blanked out.
It almost seems like there is a limited number of viewports I can use.
Solution: Run the MaxActVP command and set the value to a number greater than the number of VPs you actually need. This particular file had that value set at 2; hence, why a new, third VP blanked out the first one.
I have a drawing with a viewport that fits to the page. And I created another smaller viewport over top that just shows the legend. Now when I try to double click inside the smaller viewport it always goes into the larger one. I have tried bringing the smaller one to the front but that didn't work. I know that I can clip the larger viewport around the smaller one or bring the legend right into paperspace or slid the smaller one off to the side work in it and slide it back. This is more out of curiosity of how to get into the smaller viewport.

the odd thing is it never finds the frozen viewports on the first viewport. It catches the others fine.I cannot see anything odd either, the counts of viewports and layers are all correct, and the drawing has no problems.Is there something that must be done to initialize the mechanism that reads viewport overrides?

Well.. It's not totally gone; It's just invisible above the window I'm working in. When I put it on my toolbar for example it's there. And when I want to put it above my canvas it disappears again. When I try to draw something anyway, it gives some sort of very thin line which kind of shows what I'm doing, but as soon as I release the mouse button it all disappears again. Closing/opening Photoshop or rebooting the computer don't help.
I have Photoshop CS2 and am having problems with project windows. Whenever I either try to start a new/open and exisiting document, the window never appear. I can see the image in the navigator, but there is nothing on the workspace, it's just blank, as if I don't have a project open.
It was working fine, has been for months until now. I've tried to search for the project by dragging the photoshop window out, in case it has minimized and been placed down thew bottom right hand corner, but found nothing.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI work with .dds texture files a lot in modding the games Oblivion and Skyrim, and whenever someone else releases a mod that I like, I usually change it to my preferences (solely for personal use, of course). This occasionally means editing their textures, but some people have a way of making the texture "invisible" (as in totally transparent), yet still readable by the game as well as some plugins like Emboss. This makes it impossible for me to do anything with the file, and as a result some become completely unusable. what this "invisibility" is caused by, and a way to reverse it?

View 9 Replies View RelatedCertain selected tool cursors are almost invisible on my workspace. The lasso, type, rectangle, line tools when selected and moved into the workspace are almost the same colour as the background so it is impossible for me to get any accuracy with these tools as I can't find where they are on the page.
The other cursors, pencil, pen, eyedropper etc are coloured in black so it's fine. Is there a way of altering the other cursors so they are black too? Or finding another solution?
i'm working with CS4 on a brand new Macbook Air 11 inch.
