3ds Max :: Shader Errors Using Mentalray DBR

I have set up an additional 4 machines as satellites to use with mental ray dbr.

While the test renders I have performed complete successfully, every time I run a distributed render, I receive the following errors:

LINK20.0 6 MB error 191007: cannot load .shaders_standardmentalrayshaders/SubstanceShader.dll, The specified module could not be found.
LINK20.0 6 MB error 191012: Unable to load file: SubstanceShader.dll
LINK20.n 9 MB error 191007: cannot load SubstanceShader.dll, The specified module could not be found.
LINK20.n 9 MB error 191012: Unable to load file: SubstanceShader.dll

These are all installs of 3ds Max Design 2013, with Update 1 installed, and recently PU05 installed. All machines are running Windows 7 x64

I've checked the folders on each render node and they all have the SubstanceShader.dll installed and available. I tried setting the permissions on the AutoDesk install folder to "Everyone" having full access.

3ds Max :: MentalRay FG Repeatable Crash

It is actually a typical 2 clicks crash, and with it at least 1/4 of MR Rendering Engine has to be declared as totally damaged.

- Crate a sphere, MentalRay Dayligh + MRsky + Mr Exposure (or load my scene from attch.)

- Create camera and animate it around the sphere

- setup FinalGather to "Project along camera path" with 9 Camera segments (basically standard settings)

- Single File Only (best form walk through)

--> and press below on your computer "Generate FG Map File Now from 0-100"... (on a single machine, no network render)

From 0 to 10th frame it will always crash, we have tested it an all machines in the company. The debugger dives deep into mental ray libs, so we can't read it...

try to render it in Max2011. If it crashs, then MR-FG is broken and you can render FG not anymore locally. If not, then we have overseen something.

3ds Max :: Mentalray Fog / Particles With Opacity

I have a mentalray scene with a fog atmosphere effect that's giving me some trouble. I'm trying to render some particles with a Standard material that has a gradient opacity map applied...the material also has Face Map enabled. The resulted render gives me a black background around the particles (see image 01.jpg) If I disable the fog it renders fine (see image 02.jpg). Also, it works fine with scaneline.

Maya :: MentalRay Would Not Use Map Texture

Using maya 2013/MR to render with the optimised texture(the converted .map textures in sourceimage/cache)

i have done some tests on this issue, and kind of confirm my maya 2013/MR would not utilise the .map textures at render time, whereas in maya 2009/MR, i can clearly see the render progress window indicates that the .map textures are being used at render time; plus, with maya 2009/MR, i can see obvious memory drops when batch render with the optimised textures.

Why maya 2013/MR would not use the .map textures? or did i mis some new setting somewhere with 2013?

Can we have the ability to add pixel shader type code in a similar way to shake and lightworks?

This could alleviate the need to add more plugin Apis whilst allowing the ability to start to Build macro type functionality. Course we'd need access to cfx nodes as plugs to make it really powerful but given that so many pipelines these days are built around python, c, tkl and gto it's about time we got some programming capability in AD boxes.

Maya :: Shader Groups In Outline

Why is maya 2012 and 2013 displaying shader group nodes in my outliner?

I have display only dag nodes checked! SG nodes are DG objects! I do not want them listed in my outliner they are just cluttering the outliner!

I have spent over an hour searching for how to make them stop being displayed and it's really starting to piss me off that something so simple is turning into an entire day of effort.

I am getting sick ans tired of having to wipe my Maya folder because some obscure option gets turned on and then there is no logical place to find out how to undo it! Every time I have to wipe my Maya folder costs me hours to rebuild my custom settings!

I have a Multi-Material on an organic surface (see image below). The Bumps are created by a displacement-shader in an arch&design material. When I render it out, i get these artifacts. Of course I know where those are coming from and why. But i have no clue of how to get around them. I dont wanna use the Displacement Modifier because of polygoncount-reasons.

Photoshop :: Enable GPU - OpenGL 2.0 And Shader Model 3.0?

After buying Photoshop CS6 Extended due to it's amazing 3D options I realized my videocard sucked because it is a CSU and not a GPU as required.So I looked up what the requirements are to enable the GPU options and it stated that it requires a OpenGL 2.0 and Shader Model 3.0.
 
I have been searching for a videocard that matches exactly that without any result (I live in a country the size of a peanut that doesn't sell a 2.0 and a 3.0).But I did find shader models of 5.0 and OpenGL 4.1 and I wanted to know if that is acceptable too.
 
Are the OpenGL 2.0 and Shader Model 3.0 the minimum requirements and can I go higher?Or will Photoshop Extended not enable that GPU option if I do go above the requested OpenGL 2.0 and Shader Model 3.0???

Softimage :: Faking Lights With Constant Shader And Flicker

I have some windows that i'm trying to simulate light coming from. I'm just assigning a constant shader to some polygons. The polygons are animated moving from a distance to the camera but i can't stop them flickering. Each window seem to take turns at turning itself on and off!

No FG in the scene, i've tried all the different filter types, set the sampling contrast to .01 and tried different options such as same sample pattern on all frames but i can't eliminate it.

I have a problem with the shader nodes in the outliner. I have Maya 2013 SP2(x64).

When im modeling, save, quit maya and open it again... sometimes i found a blank screen and i have to change the view to see my model, everything is in wireframe, my mental ray disappear and i have to load the plugin again and i found (Grey Icon) shader nodes in my outliner and i cant move them from there.

The "DAG objects Only" dont make them disappear, the optimize Scene dont work.How i can move them from there?

I use a setup with Shader List (Volume) with two mists. One regular and one to blur out the horizon. After working on the scene for some time I notice that the shader list now contains eight copies of the last shader. I think I would remember if I did that. So, whats up with the shader list?

I've created system printers for our office using the "Add Plotter" application of AC. I've filtered paper sizes for the different printers. However, these filtered paper sizes are not the same for all workstations.

E.g. If I filter out all paper sizes and only check ISO A0 and ISO A1, on some of the workstations there are other paper sizes available. How do I avoid this from happening?

Photoshop :: CS6 Has Out Of Memory Errors Under Mac OS X 10.7.4

2008 MacBoo Pro with the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 512 MB graphics card tried running Photoshop CS6 under Mac OS X 10.7.4?
 
On my MacBook Pro, PS CS6 launches; however, any action results in an out of memory error.  The CS6 versions of After Effects, Premiere Pro and Illustrator all launch and run as expected under 10.7.4.
 
If I switch to my Mac OS X 10.6.8 startup volume, Photoshop CS6 runs as expected. I have support cases open with Adobe, NVidia and Apple.  Adobe thinks I need to update the display drivers.  NVidia says display drivers must be provided by Apple.  Apple says that the display drivers are current.  The Apple support agent said that he can escalate the case if the issue can be reproduced on more than one computer.
 
I'd love to keep my MacBook Pro running another year or so without having to reboot in 10.6.8 every time I need to use Photoshop.  I'd stay with 10.6.8, but of course iCloud requires 10.7.4. I have not tried Mac OS X 10.8 yet, but it's on my troubleshooting list.

Also, PS CS6 runs fine under Mac OS X 10.7.4 on my 2010 iMac.

Photoshop :: CS6 Install Errors?

I am installing CS6 Design Standard on a MacbookPro 8 mgs ram, system meets all requirements. Yesterday Adobe Tech Support and I were on phone 3 1/2 hours trying to remedy the problem. NO GOOD. Still the same issue.
 
I get error messages and also when I get into the program it also states that the extension files are missing etc..But the install failed and Minibridge didnt install at all, and does not show up or work at all.
PS open and appears to work some but it states it failed to install and gives me the following error messages;
 
0 fatal / 4 error / 0 warning

When saving images as PSDS in photoshop CS3( using save as )and giving them a label, the image fails to save in a recognisable file. This file is then impossible to open. What I have found is if I type in any old letters eg yyy the photo is saved correctly, and I can then rename it with what I had intended.Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Here is my latest attempt at an out of bounds image.. I don't understand why the lines of the photo are jagged... I did this rather quick but I am a little confused about the jagged lines... which by frustration left me leaving the image as is. Any ideas as to why this happened? I had made a rectangle and did a fill and deleted the inner part.. then when I transformed it I made sure to hold the shift key to keep it correct..

whenever I try and install (In Vista 64bit) CS4 I get the error:

Does anyone out there know what causes the above errors with CS4 installation? Does anyone know the solution, a Google search provides some clues but none that seem logically worked out.

The only real solution I could find was one telling me to do some things with the public folder, I tried that and the did a clean reinstall and no dice.

I can't install camera raw. I've seen the same problems on the forum already, but unanswered. I get errors: "This is not the right kind of document" "Camera Raw editing is not enabled" I have creative design suite CS4, also bridge cs6. Ive tried uninstalling reinstalling photoshop. When i try both the camera raw 6_4 and 6_5 camera raw update they say "Update failed". When i try to install the Camera Raw 5.2, it gives me an error  "Error opening file for  writing:

i installed Photoshop cc on a Trail to check if it runs well on my pc, when i opend/or made any image on the main area were you edit the Graphics go mental  at places were collor changes... even if you open a new image and use the gradient tool,its not gone be on the final image or anything its just in that window..

so i fought maybe theres something wrong with my AMD ATI HD7950 Graphic's card thats pretty new, but after reinstalling all of the drivers and software for it its still there, just went through the troubleshoot page.. (windows7)

I have used PSD since version 1 and lots have changed, except that there is always a new version around the bend.I just installed PSD 13 and updated it to 13.0.1. on my MacPro 3,1 with 16GB and 4TB.   Along the way I received launch errors :

MMX cannot be loaded

Color settings cannot be synched

Multiple Processor can't work with this version of Photoshop

I also received errors when I tried to creat a 3D layer from a shape or text layer or open a readable .obj file as a 3D layer.I updated the nVidia GeForce 8800 GT with the new driver 304.00.05f02 posted 10/2/2012.The first few times restarting with the new drivers, there was no changes.  Finally I was able to use the 3D portion of PSD 13.Even though I was able to use the 3D, I still got the error warning on launch of PSD 'that the multiple processors weren't compatible with this version of Photoshop.' 
 
The Adobe site [URL] says that my GPU will work with PSD 13.I am also confused by the technospeak of open_gl and open_cl.  Some places refor to the GeForce 8800GT as having both and some dont refer to those terms.  I wish things were consistant.  If it was found to work with PSD 13 as stated in the above reference are GL & CL active in the card I have?
