3ds Max Modeling :: How To Only Morph Partial Sections Of Morphing Object
Aug 2, 2011
how can I only morph partial sections of a morphing object? If I have a mesh sphere that morphs into like a stary blob shape, Is their a way to morph only 1 half of the sphere at a time as oppossed to the whole sphere? I thought you could limit the effect to only certain faces but that is not working. I only have 1 source sphere and one target stary blob morph to work with. I cant make others.I want to limit my morph effect to only certain faces or vertices on the sphere but I can get that to work.
I have an object with about 10 morph targets and I've seen some issues with some shapes, which will need a few more edge loops around the mouth. Adding an edgeloop or any other topology edition to any of the targets or the original breaks the morpher animation. Is there a way to do this? Or to propagate the topology changes to all the morph targets?
I have a simple object that I want to morph between the original and a smaller version of the same thing.
I made two copies "start" and "finish". I then selected the original part and then Create/Compound objects/Morph. Under "Pick targets" I ticked "Copy" and then selected the first target ("start") and the second target ("finish") ready to set animation keys.
When I select the first target the original part moves randomly to another position in the scene. If I change the pivot point of the object it changes where it moves to but still moves it somewhere else in the scene?
If I move the original part back to the correct location the animation still has incorrect movement?
how to make a partial open (saddled) and partial box (housed) stringer?
The only difference is that the open treads do not extend but are the same length as the box treads.Partial_Open_into_Box_Stair.gif Using Autocad Architecture 2012.
how to create cross sections without cutting up the model similar to applications like Autodesk Inventor? Maybe inserting a poly plane into the object and tell Maya to only render stuff in the normal direction of the plane if that is even possible?
i have drawn a 3d pyramid 65 radius and 25 high, drawn a 30x30x15 block in the centre and where it breaks through the pyramid i wish to remove it... is there a subtraction/trim option to allow this?
Is there a way to create a 3D object such as a motor, by using 2D sections from multiple view points? For instance, I have a side view, front view, and rear view of a motor in 2D but I would like the motor in 3D. Besides cutting one of the views in half and revolving around it or push/pulling an enclosed area a certain distance for each individual feature of the motor or extruding many faces is there a QUICK and SIMPLE way to do this?
had a photo vending machine/booth where two people took turns having their picture taken and the machine would morph the faces together and show how their child would look. It was pretty cool. Is there a Photoshop filter/plugin that could do this?
I am trying to take an upper-body image of muscle man and combining it with a leather wallet, to morph the wallet into having "muscles." I was thinking if there was a way to make a grid out of the muscle man, I could apply the wallet image to the grid.
I want to create a photomanipulation where my dog is standing in the forest, looking to the side, as he's starting to morph into the ground, as if he is becoming part of the forest. Basically, I want it to seem as if the bottom half of his legs are becoming of the earth and dirt, and his tail is morphing into a flower. I have yet to have my dog cooperate and let me take the picture, but the picture will end up looking a little bit like this:
I know how to get the tail to morph into a flower, but I'm kind of unclear how I want the legs to begin morphing into the grass. I still want them to maintain their shape, but seem as if the fur on his legs is becoming green grass instead.
Also, I really want to make this a little more sci-fi, so I was hoping to include visible and swirling earth energy,
how do i morph two faces into one face.. it is kind of like the pictures people do to predict how their babies would like if the two faces were combined.. a newbie...and i am just curious how it was done..so i can fool around a bit.
i'm currently going through a variety of design for possible flyers and i have this idea of morphing the apes head into the text but i don't know how to do it...i believe i could use the clone stamp along with a few different tools but not sure...
how the above image was made. It looks to me like a pattern was created and then has somehow been bent to follow the shape of the lizard.I've been searching all day for a technique to make this work but so far have come up with nothing.
I want to morph a picture of a camera in after effects so that it moves up very quickly turning into a black ball that rotates towards the left in a circular motion and morphs into another picture. How do I go about doing this. Both pictures are PNGs. This is my camera that I want to morph into the black ball. This is the shape that the black ball morphs into
anyone know of a warp-morphing plug-in? I need ti to be a mesh where I can add as many control points as needed to reshape a photograph that I've taken of a building at a low angle that I want to look like I took it straight on. The Distort feature in photoshop does not give me enough distortion points.
I'm familiar with blend shapes within a given model, but I'm wondering if there's some way to blend SEPARATE models so that one blends into another, perhaps by assigning points manually or something of the sort.
I study vertebrate development. I will be creating a bunch of 3D files based on confocal microscope data at different developmental time points, and I'd like to make a 3D model in Maya that blends these various models chronologically.
how do i completely flatten an object to determine its true dimensions. I have a door for a car lets say is 1 meter ,yet with the complexity of the curves and angle of the panels on the door if it was to be made completely flat it would be say 1.4 meters. I want to achieve something like the iron man pic but for the door. I tried sticking it in Autocad and converted to 2D but the measurements where of.
I want to take a map of a country and change the shape of it to fit exactly into another complex shape (e.g. a puddle of water, an animal outline, etc).
To be clear, in doing this I don't simply want to mask the original map image to "cut out" the chosen shape, I need to keep the entire map and distort its shape into the new shape. I'm also not talking about using displacement maps to "wrap" the map around a second object. I guess it's a "shape morph" I'm after, which leaves all the original content and just changes the boundaries.
I know I could use the warp tool, but this requires an incredible amount of time to manually change images to exactly fit a new complex shape. It also means every time I want a new shape it has to be manually done. Given that the warp grid only has 9 squares, this makes it even more difficult to get a good match to the new shape.
For example to choose a few points on the original to map to chosen points on the second shape, such that the software will then interpolate the points in between.
I have created an object (Tube012) that i am trying to use as a rotational control mechanism / rig to move some vertices (morphed spline 012) through a series of progressive morph targets.
i have created morph targets that work as key framed morphs but when i change these to progressive morphs and try to drive with an expression nothing is happening.
The work i am doing is largely based on the great work of Ruramuq and Harvey from the thread "Rigging a wave (3D's Max)" Not sure why. I have file from Ruramuq and have tried to replicate his technique. Everything works well in his file so all i need to do is replicate. The answer is in here but i cant tell what the difference is between his and mine.
I am modeling a (simplified) human brain. I have used paint effects to draw its surface and afterwards I converted them to polygons ( Actually I used this tutorial URL.... ). Is there a possible way to convert these tube - like polygons to rectungular shapes? I want in a future step to make an animation where the brains topology transforms to walls and corridors.
its about making 3d object from transparent picture , is it possible, for example i want to make 3d obejct from this picture URL>... so it has depht (thicknes) and everythinh .i used to apply texture on plane and cut out edges of plane so they match the picture.
I am trying to do a simple retopo modelling. In many other soft you only need to turn on snapping to get your retopo model vertexes/edges following a surface of a hi-res reference object.
Seems I can't do so in Max because it tend to snap to faces of the same object I am working on.
Is it possible somehow to snap to faces of other objects only so the currently edited object faces would be completely ignored/excluded/invisible for snapping?
