Xara :: Jagged Text When Using Morph Tool
Aug 21, 2011I applied a ceiling perspective to my text and the words appear jagged. Why and how do I fix this?

I'm trying to create a drawing which features the rounded edge of a playing card, with no luck. It simply doesn't look good.
there maybe opportunity to customize the numbered/bulleted lists in Text tool in Xara Designer Pro 7?
I am not sure maybe somewhere read that it is possible
I'm in the midst of making a type based logo right now and I sheared it to give it a bit of a diagonal edge. However, the diagonal lines are now noticeably pixelated and jagged. What I did was type out the name in the logo, then created outlines for it, then sheared it. I went over some of the lines with a pen tool stroke but it is still coming out the same. Here is my logos. The vertical diagonal lines in the E, K, R and I's are especially noticeable.

This is my own personal music producer logo and I am pretty green with illustrator. So how do I make it as clean as this [URL] or some of these [URL].
Did the programmers make the pen tool in CC worse or am I missing something. If I draw a path in cc and stroke it with a 2px hard brush the line is extremely jagged/rough. If I do it in CS6 that I own, the line is smooth and very fine. What gives?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIn Illustrator CS6 and CC, when the stroke width tool is used on a curve, the curve is actually made up of a series of straight lines instead of smooth vector curves:
whereas in CS5 it looks perfect. These images may be too small to see the details, but the difference is there. Is there a workaround for this? Or is it recognized as a bug?
when viewing pdfs exported from photoshop cs4 using acrobat pro 9. If I open single pdf, it's ok, but whenever I open another pdf, all text is jagged. Then if I close all pdfs and try opening the second one, it's ok again. It looks like acrobat is not able to render texts correctly in newly opened pdf when another pdf is already opened. This happens only with pdfs exported from photoshop (file->save as->pdf). It does not really matter if the first opened pdf is from photoshop or not, all other opened pdfs from photoshop are crapy. I tried different settings when saving pdf but the results are always the same - jagged type (it does not even look like aliased, it's completely screwed and unreadable) in second pdf. It is funny because text present as smart object from illustrator renders fine all the time. Therefor I think the problem is between photoshop export and acrobat, vectors are rendered with no problems. I tried opening on different pc (also with acrobat 9 pro) with the same result. Systems are vista on exporting pc, the second pc is running windows7 beta. However on the third pc with windows XP and adobe reader 9 everything works fine.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI created a new image 500x500 pixels at 72 pixels per inch resolution. However when I added some text to this image it came out all jagged and of poor quality.
I then created a new image with a resolution of 300 pixels and the text in this came out perfect, however where in the first image the text was about 18pt in the second image I had to drop the text down to about 9 point to be the same size. What resolution hould I be using for web page design and how do I get around the poor quality of lower resolution? I expect some drop in quality but the text at 72 pixels was no where near usable.
i've got some text in a sans-serif font that i'm trying to save as transparent gif. i'm using PS7's 'save for web' option. when i save it with a transparent background, it looks like crap when posted to a web page. when i save the exact same text, but with a background color, it looks great.
View 8 Replies View Relatedi need help on text that i just cant seem to get smoth edges. i tried saving it as gif, jpg, tiff. the thing is that i need transparency, not for the web but for a restaurant menu, when i save as gif, i get extremely bad edges, now as jpg the image is ok but i have the white background. im doing the layout in publisher, where i could click the with BG as transparent but i still get jagged edges.
View 1 Replies View Relatedeverything was fine until I downloaded and opened an animated .gif in Photoshop 7.0 for manipulation. I'm not sure how .gifs work, so I just used the one frame of the animation that came up when I opened it.
I did the job an everything turned out fine.
when I use the text function in Photoshop, the text always comes out pixelated and jagged.
Had a colour effect that was being used and it was only achieved by using a 32bit colour space. However the text came out jagged in the render. I changed the text to 16bit and all was fine. So question is why would the text be jagged in 32bit is there a specific reason for that?
View 11 Replies View RelatedIn this example IÂ did the following
Â
1. used the circle marquee and did a 8 point stroke.
2. Selected the circle with the magic marquee to get an active selection
3. Gradient tool
Â
Doing the above results in jagged edges that alias badly once I fill the selection with the gradient. With a basic color the circle is perfeclty fine, only once I add the gradient the edges become jagged. How might I fix this?
My text in Photoshop is jagged unless I zoom in at 100%. When I do that it's normal. Also when I save as a file on my computer it's normal. I don't see other people with this issue, they get normal text by default. I haven't changed any settings, everything is as it is when you first get the program.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI seem to be having a problem with jagged text when trying to design a webpage in PS. I have the resolution set to 72dpi because it is only for the web. However I have noticed that any text I add seems very jagged. I have tried applying smooth, criss etc which seems to fix it a little bit but not as good as it should. One strange thing I did notice was that I had added a text banner to my page which was jagged. Then later on I added another one and it seemed perfect. Im not sure what I did to the second one to make it better than the first lot of text I added.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn Xara Designer Pro 7, when I have selector tool active and want to drag over a number of elements to select them the selector tool will change the size of the canvas (page). Is that not a bug? I used this way of selecting elements often, and it is not good for me with this new behaviour.
Is it a bug or is it a new setting which I then need to change?
Re: 2D circle jagged lines, 3D model hidden jagged lines. How do i get smooth lines?
How do i get rid of jagged lines?
Circles and diagonal lines look rubbish when i am in hidden view which i use for simple 3d black / white (i think this is the best way?).
I have tried:
- viewres (1000, 5000, 10000, 20000 sightly better)
- regen
See examples.

I wanted to create a wallpaper where the corner is like solid but it morphs with the other colour slowly until the other side appears solid.
my description is crap, basically can someone tell me how to make something like this?
how do i morph two faces into one face.. it is kind of like the pictures people do to predict how their babies would like if the two faces were combined.. a newbie...and i am just curious how it was done..so i can fool around a bit.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to morph an object based upon a look at constraint.
That is, assume object (A) has a look at constraint target object (B).
I want to morph object (C) to (A), based upon movement of (B).
Is this possible ?
I want to take a map of a country and change the shape of it to fit exactly into another complex shape (e.g. a puddle of water, an animal outline, etc).
To be clear, in doing this I don't simply want to mask the original map image to "cut out" the chosen shape, I need to keep the entire map and distort its shape into the new shape. I'm also not talking about using displacement maps to "wrap" the map around a second object. I guess it's a "shape morph" I'm after, which leaves all the original content and just changes the boundaries.
I know I could use the warp tool, but this requires an incredible amount of time to manually change images to exactly fit a new complex shape. It also means every time I want a new shape it has to be manually done. Given that the warp grid only has 9 squares, this makes it even more difficult to get a good match to the new shape.
For example to choose a few points on the original to map to chosen points on the second shape, such that the software will then interpolate the points in between.
I have created an object (Tube012) that i am trying to use as a rotational control mechanism / rig to move some vertices (morphed spline 012) through a series of progressive morph targets.
i have created morph targets that work as key framed morphs but when i change these to progressive morphs and try to drive with an expression nothing is happening.
The work i am doing is largely based on the great work of Ruramuq and Harvey from the thread "Rigging a wave (3D's Max)" Not sure why. I have file from Ruramuq and have tried to replicate his technique. Everything works well in his file so all i need to do is replicate. The answer is in here but i cant tell what the difference is between his and mine.
I have an object with about 10 morph targets and I've seen some issues with some shapes, which will need a few more edge loops around the mouth. Adding an edgeloop or any other topology edition to any of the targets or the original breaks the morpher animation. Is there a way to do this? Or to propagate the topology changes to all the morph targets?

I have a simple object that I want to morph between the original and a smaller version of the same thing.
I made two copies "start" and "finish". I then selected the original part and then Create/Compound objects/Morph. Under "Pick targets" I ticked "Copy" and then selected the first target ("start") and the second target ("finish") ready to set animation keys.
When I select the first target the original part moves randomly to another position in the scene. If I change the pivot point of the object it changes where it moves to but still moves it somewhere else in the scene?
If I move the original part back to the correct location the animation still has incorrect movement?
how can I only morph partial sections of a morphing object? If I have a mesh sphere that morphs into like a stary blob shape, Is their a way to morph only 1 half of the sphere at a time as oppossed to the whole sphere? I thought you could limit the effect to only certain faces but that is not working. I only have 1 source sphere and one target stary blob morph to work with. I cant make others.I want to limit my morph effect to only certain faces or vertices on the sphere but I can get that to work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with the skin morph modifier. I have morphed the bend in the knee and fixed the crease behind the knee on the left leg. When I tried to mirror it over to the right leg, it goes crazy. I found out that the morph preview verts on the left leg are not staying on the model as the should be when I bend the knee. The model is perfectly symmetrical so the offset doesn't need to be changed and the mirror threshold doesn't seem to be doing anything to work.
skinMorph1: Both leg straight
skinMorph2: left leg bent with verts off of the model
skinMorph3: right leg bent with mirrored verts from left leg
What I'm attempting to do is export a Skin and Morph based rig to test out in Unity. The bone and morph targets come into Unity but the actual morph animation didn't. I checked the controllers responsible and it appears that the curves driven by the Reaction Manager don't get baked when exporting to .fbx.
Â
Now I suppose I can bake them myself to something .fbx understands before export but I can't seem to find a way to simply take the animation curves for the morph channels and bake it down.Â
Â
I really would like to get Morph Targets working in Unity but this silly problem is preventing me from doing so.Â
Is there a way to make non rectangular text boxes in Xara designer? Say I have a star shaped object in the page and I want the text INSIDE the star.
Also, is there a way to color fill a text box?

I follow the tutorial in the Xara Help, but cannot get the results shown. I draw the circle, compose the text, and set it to the middle Select both circle and text Arrange/Fit Text to Curve....the text appears around the lower, right side of the cirle After all this I am unable to manipulate the text (It's a piece of cake to do this in Publisher 2010, but it has some minor problems in appearance)
