Is there any way to control which is the dominant object when aligning? Or, to establish to which object the others align? Like in CorelDraw. It seems quite arbitrary: some times all the objects move but on occasion only one moves. I can' see any system to apply.

For example in Shape Tool creating a horizontal line (click and somewhere beside CTRL - click), at me it creates control points at the end of the lines plus two ones on the line.
That is super anyway because immediately can be seen where is the 33% of the line length, but could be set somehow this that how many control point should be as default?
1. find the attached “Rays on Oval.png” file. (Tried attaching .cdr file but the File Size is 400KB.)
2. I would like to Repeat / Duplicate that Black Color on Outer Path of Oval Shape. (Like shown in the Yellow versus Black. The Yellow is a Circle and the Black is from Star Tool)
3. I think the Best Bet would be to Link the Rays to the Outer Path of Oval Shape.
4. I need the Rays and Oval as 2 Different Objects so that I could Change the Color Scheme.
Is it possible to align object by 2/3 point using .net? Its easy to do with autocad, but I can't find a way to do it using .NET.

Using the grafic text, it aligns directly on/ over the outline of the oval shape. View 5 Replies View RelatedI am working on an animated gif, and so with bitmaps, to which I am adding text in Xara.All of the text that I create seems to want to be gray. I have tried changing transparency, I have tried setting my default color, and changing the color of the text.I have also checked to make sure that the text is not set to transparent. If I select the text, and then the transparency tool, it shows "No transparency", and the transparency is set at 0 percent. It is interesting that, if I move the percent transparency above 0 percent and then back down to 0 percent, it changes to "None" in stead of "No transparency". Is "None" the same is "No transparency"?

When I go to windows, control bars, and check it, nothing comes into view. So I assume it's out of my view...how do I get it back?!
I created 2 new control bars. Each is 2 icons wide (double column). When I drag these new bars to anchor then on the left edge they snap to a single column and I can't get them to stay 2 columns wide.

The only colors that currently appear are shades of reds/purples and yellows/greens. If I scroll across from left to right the same colors just keep repeating themselves. How to set up a dynamic block so I can control the size of an object through parametric dimensions that are linked (somehow) to a lookup table, spreadsheet, list, etc.?
What I'm trying to do (simplified) is place a block of a rectangle, select a size from a dropdown list, and have the block change to be that size - but I don't want to do this through visibility states as there are hundreds of sizes. The whole point is to be able to construct a list, lookup table, excel sheet, etc and link it to parametric dimensions in the block, or at least be able to link a stretch action to parametric dimensions. But the block editor will not allow me to associate a stretch action with a parametric dimension (at least I haven't figured out how to do this.)

As I remember somewhere read that there is some way of it without ungrouping, however now reading the Designer Pro help it seems that is needed
To add more objects to a group
Select the group.
Ungroup ("Ctrl + U")
Select the extra objects.
Group again ("Ctrl + G")
Basically this group is a repeating object on several pages so maybe would not touch that with ungrouping, but of course if there will be no other choice

I looked up `noise' in help file and it mentions distortion filters but for some unimaginable reason... does not mention where they are.
Ok, looked up `distortion'... It tells about distortion filters but again... Showing an almost insane way to organize.... again it is not mentioned where they are.
how to add noise to an object? The help file has failed its most basic role... and has left it to my imagination as to where these filters may be.
Import a photo image which is, for example, 100px high by 500px long. Now apply a simple fade transparency from the left edge to 100% transparent 100px in from the left edge (i.e. 400px of the image's length is now 'invisible').
Export this as a png and then import this png. It will still be 100 x 500 - can you tell Xara export the image truncated down just the 'visible' portion (i.e. 100 x 100)?
How to make a Contour object transparent? In below example is set a 1 step contour on the star, setting transparency the yellow is transparent but the grey not.

I am aware that the star could be turned to editable shape, after clone and subtract so the transparency could be controlled on both shapes, but is there maybe some other way?
Also could be a way of course to set outline for the star and not contour, but I do not like as in that case the line half inside and half outside of the shape.
Just a question about adding objects to an arc instead of a whole circle for example using a hearts brush. I draw a circle, convert it to a shape and then bisect it with a line that has also been converted to a shape then I slice and break shapes and now I have a perfect arc but when I go to my brushes and try to add my hearts brush to the arc it like doubles the hearts. Is there anyway to overcome this so that I only have a single row of hearts on the arc. By the way I'm using XaraXtreme Pro 5. T

My "Magic Snap"[magnetic object snapping] has vanished/stopped working. Turning the magnet icon on and off does not do anything .I am using the latest Xara Designer Pro version [7.1.1.17261]. Is there any way to get it back without re-installing? I'm tired of having to re-install every time something goes wrong [which is kinda frequent]. I don't like having to reset the xara function icons each time [I use a different arrangement than the garden variety supplied].
I am using an i5 processor and have 8 gigs of memory running with Windows 7 OS.
