I've included a URL to a screen grab that shows how the artwork falls off the desired background. And so effects what gets printed ... I think.
What is the normal way to cause the printed product to cut off at the desired edge?
In this case the blue noisy bkg is the exact size of what is supposed to get printed.
I have been trying out Xara 3D - great programme.
I create my first animated image and set it to loop the animation 99 times
If I go away from the web page I put it on and come back (before it could have done 99 loops) it seems to freeze, and refreshing the page does nothing to re-animate it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am working on an animated gif, and so with bitmaps, to which I am adding text in Xara.All of the text that I create seems to want to be gray. I have tried changing transparency, I have tried setting my default color, and changing the color of the text.I have also checked to make sure that the text is not set to transparent. If I select the text, and then the transparency tool, it shows "No transparency", and the transparency is set at 0 percent. It is interesting that, if I move the percent transparency above 0 percent and then back down to 0 percent, it changes to "None" in stead of "No transparency". Is "None" the same is "No transparency"?

When I try to change the width to 1920 the height adjusts as well. I know there is a simple fix for this but I can't find it.

When I go to windows, control bars, and check it, nothing comes into view. So I assume it's out of my view...how do I get it back?!
I created 2 new control bars. Each is 2 icons wide (double column). When I drag these new bars to anchor then on the left edge they snap to a single column and I can't get them to stay 2 columns wide.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI use large sheets of paper in my printer and typically want to print several photos on one sheet. In order to use the entire 19" length of the paper I select "borderless" printing in the printer options of my Epson Stylus Photo R3000 printer. For example, I create a template with five 5x7 photos and two 4x6 photos on one 13x19 sheet of paper. I then want each cell to have a border of 7 pts. I set this in the appropriate print option in Lightroom. I select each photo and drop it onto the appropriate cell. When I print this selection, Lightroom fails to preserve the 7pt borders of the various cells that lie on the outside edges of the paper. It preserves the 7 pt borders everywhere else. This occurs for any possible expansion setting I choose under the 'borderless' selection.
Conversely, if I do not select 'borderless' printing I get double width borders around the outside edges of the paper, single width borders on the interior edges, and therefor I cannot fit the last two 4x6 prints on the paper.
Is this a bug or is there a combination of settings which will give me what I want.
photoshop CS (Win XP), the control key does not work. I was trying to make a new image by pressing Cntl-N and discovered all the commands that require the control key do not work. In other applications (Mozilla for example) the control key work. I looked at the keyboard shortcuts in PS and it is correctly specified as Cntl-N for a new file but yet it does not work.

For example in Shape Tool creating a horizontal line (click and somewhere beside CTRL - click), at me it creates control points at the end of the lines plus two ones on the line.
That is super anyway because immediately can be seen where is the 33% of the line length, but could be set somehow this that how many control point should be as default?

The only colors that currently appear are shades of reds/purples and yellows/greens. If I scroll across from left to right the same colors just keep repeating themselves. There are no shades of gray or blue. Can I somehow preset the colors that appear or do I have no control over what colors scroll across the bottom.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI use PaintShop Pro v. 11.20 at work. I was using it as normal one day, and it crashed. This is nothing new, the crash is because I tend to have a lot of programs open at the same time and I had not rebooted my computer soon enough to clear the RAM. The problem occurred when I reopened the paint shop after rebooting, and all commands involving the control key (copy/paste, etc.) as well as the delete key do nothing. Very occasionally, it will allow one of these commands to work, but this is now very rare. If I have an object selected, the highlighting will blink briefly as it does when you try to copy it, but otherwise does nothing. I can still use these commands from the drop-down menus. I think this is probably just some random bug that happened when it crashed for whatever reason. If I can avoid reinstalling that would be preferable, as I would have to have the disks mailed to me by the head office. I looked to see if there was some setting that would put things back to normal but could find nothing. I reset defaults, no change.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to write a set of rules so that I can switch Work Features On and Off via a Text Parameter.I have an assembly made up of a number of parts used hundreds of times within in various sub-assemblies. If I make a particular sub-assembly 'Invisible' then subsequently 'Visible,' all work features that had previously been set to be 'Invisible' are switched to 'Visible' also.
Likewise if I simple want to set a particular Work Features' Visibility in one particular sub-assembly, I would like to be able to do this via a Text Parameter rather than having to laboriously scroll down the Assembly switching the visibility of features on and off.
At the moment if I turn the visibility of say a Work Plane On in a sub-assembly then all sub-assemblies deploying the same part switch the visibility of that Work Plane on too. Hence I cannot see my work for Work Planes.Obviously the Global Switch under View is of no avail,
So I would like to be able to create a Text Parameter for each sub assembly and in turn each Work Feature with a Yes/No Visibility switch controlled via a set of Rules in iLogic.
I have finished designing a flag using Xara which contains an EPS import in the bottom right hand corner.
I can print the XAR element of the design but it will not print the EPS element
So you know what system I have, I use a laptop running Windows 7 64bit, with a dual core processor and 4GB RAM. It's a very capable machine and I don't usually have a problem using LR on it.
After installing LR 3.3 over 3.2 I experienced a problem whereby the PC would not recognise which program to use for opening the lrcat catalog files. Using the Default Programs option in Control Panel didn't work as Windows wouldn't accept Lightroom as the default program and kept suggesting I open the catalog using Adobe Reader instead.
I seem to remember having an issue with the 3.2 update as well but that was simply the icon for file type being missing (showing a default unknown file type icon).
Anyway, resolved the problem but had to resort to downloading a program called Default Programs Editor (http:[url]...... to correct the problem. Am thinking next upgrade, I will uninstall LR completely before installing the update, just to be sure.
I created an ad in color but might possibly be required to provide it in black and white also. However, The file contains an image that's in color. So I need to know if there is an option to print the file to PDF in black and white? I tried changed the settings many times to no avail. I'm using DP7.

My question is this: if the print job were for the side of a van, could XDP be used to do this and retain a pure vector output?

Transforming objects into curves
Transform all design elements and text into curves.
This is possible with Corel Draw: highlight the part of the design you want to convert. Click on 'set up' - 'transform into curves'.; You may run into a few problems when converting complex pixel graphics into curves. Try to convert as few individual objects and colors as possible. Note: vector graphics for plot printing can have up to three colors per design.
Check the minimum size of the object
After you've converted to curves, you'll have to check every element of the design to make sure that it has a minimum size of 1.5 mm. One trick for checking this: create a small circle with a diameter of 1.5 mm and lay it over the smallest parts of the design. If the area is smaller than the circle, it's too small for plot printing.
Save image as vector graphic
Unfortunately, you cannot just open a pixel graphic into a vector program and save it in a vector format (.eps.) This is not enough. You have to manually make sure the pixel graphic has been converted into curves.
Can I just export as an .eps and it'll work, or do I need to convert to editable shapes then export?
Does XaReg2 work with DP9?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI used to use Xara Xtreme 4 and loved it. Since changing my computer to one with Windows 7 I have not been able to use Xara Xtreme.
Needed to print out an old Xara image today so downloaded and installed Xara Web Designer 7 as this seems to be the nearest I can get to the old Xara Xtreme that runs on my laptop.
However, I can't find any "Print" option. It's not under File, Ctrl P doesn't do anything, nothing under right clicking. I need to print something quickly and I've given up trying to find the Print option. where have they 'hidden' Print?
Also, am I correct in thinking Web Designer 7 is the nearest program with features to Xara Xtreme or are the features of Xara Xtreme loss forever to this new web site design program?
I export pngs almost exclusively from Xara. I have always opened them in PSP and changed the resolution to 118.50 (about 301dpi) so they are print ready.
I have to make over 21,000 arrows (sob) and having to open each and every one of them in PSP is not something I am looking forward to. There is a way to change the png export resolution to something more suited for printing.
My "Magic Snap"[magnetic object snapping] has vanished/stopped working. Turning the magnet icon on and off does not do anything .I am using the latest Xara Designer Pro version [7.1.1.17261]. Is there any way to get it back without re-installing? I'm tired of having to re-install every time something goes wrong [which is kinda frequent]. I don't like having to reset the xara function icons each time [I use a different arrangement than the garden variety supplied].
I am using an i5 processor and have 8 gigs of memory running with Windows 7 OS.
Had my windows(7/32) installed again And DPX with latest updates.But now the PS-plugins gives me an error and quit message.The buildin plugins work(enhance-videofilter) Redfield/AV/Mehdi are not.

View 8 Replies View RelatedThis post is regarding using Designer Pro to edit print ready PDF's (with crop marks, colour bars etc) created using Photoshop and Illustrator. I can do the edits, but if I try and export the file it corrupts (colour values change, some text changes col)
The files are supplied to me by a designer and sometimes I need to do urgent changes myself before going to print. I have unticked the 'add printers marks' box to avoid a double set of marks and colour bars and have the fonts installed too.
Today, I've been mostly trying to get the Cloud Gallery 2 widget to work as advertised. According to the instructions, once the photos I want to use are in place I can -
'Set text shown when mousing over the image using the caption field on the image tab of the Utilities > Web Properties dialog. Do this for all images.'
I've done this, but all I can get to appear is the main title of the widget itself. At no point can I get individual captions to appear describing the graphic.
In XDP versions 5 en 6 I created brushes, templates, etc. I'm looking for an easy way to import these into XDP7 which I just installed.
