Xara :: Object Snapping Does Not Work?
Aug 8, 2011My "Magic Snap"[magnetic object snapping] has vanished/stopped working. Turning the magnet icon on and off does not do anything .I am using the latest Xara Designer Pro version [7.1.1.17261]. Is there any way to get it back without re-installing? I'm tired of having to re-install every time something goes wrong [which is kinda frequent]. I don't like having to reset the xara function icons each time [I use a different arrangement than the garden variety supplied].
I am using an i5 processor and have 8 gigs of memory running with Windows 7 OS.

Jun 13, 2011Today, I've been mostly trying to get the Cloud Gallery 2 widget to work as advertised. According to the instructions, once the photos I want to use are in place I can -
'Set text shown when mousing over the image using the caption field on the image tab of the Utilities > Web Properties dialog. Do this for all images.'
I've done this, but all I can get to appear is the main title of the widget itself. At no point can I get individual captions to appear describing the graphic.

What is the normal way to cause the printed product to cut off at the desired edge?
In this case the blue noisy bkg is the exact size of what is supposed to get printed.
Xara :: Panorama Studio Program Has Been Detected / But It Don't Work
Jul 9, 2013i just downloaded and registered xdpx9.2.1 (launch).
when i launch 'create panorama' i get the popup 'Panorama Studio program has been detected. Do you want to use the standard built-in panorama stitching feature or launch Panorama Studio*?'
if i click 'panorama studio' i get the following error this is a completely native clean install of xdpx9 so a re-installation of the program isnt going to fix anything especially since i had exactly the same problem with xdpx8

1. Will my old Xara X1 (cd version) files work in latest version if I upgrade/install XP/GP7?
2. and will they be 2 stand alone programs and can switch between the two? or overwrite each other>?
At this time I am unable to locate my original cd, which has been in mass storage, so I fear installing just to find out, otherwise I wouldnt have asked this forum, backed up my design project and tried this already.
AutoCAD Inventor :: Create Work Axis Where Work Plane Intersects Curved Surface?
Sep 9, 2013I keep running into a situation where I would like to be able to create an edge or a work axis at the intersection of a work plane and the surface of the part. I figured out a work around if the surface is flat, but I haven't figured out a work around for a curved surface.
How do I create work axis where work plane intersects curved surface?
Or put another way: How do I project intersection of work plane and curved surface onto the work plane in a 2D sketch?
I need to be able to draw a 2D sketch on the work plane, but get a perfectly matching projected line onto the work plane, from the curved surface, at the intersection of the curved surface and the work plane.
The attached jpg shows the intersection in question. I circled it.
AutoCad :: Annotative Blocks Work In MEP But Don't Work In Vanilla
Sep 29, 2011All of my block updates work just fine when I use them in MEP 12, but we have a couple of drafters working in vanilla AutoCAD & for some reason the same commands/ blocks/ settings (same exact file even) that work in MEP do not work in regular ACAD.
Now they do "work" - the commands/ block insertion - but the annotative adjustment (i.e. 1/4" to 1/8" to etc) do not work until I select the block and add the desired scale to its annotative object scale list - why is this necessary? it isn't in MEP? The blocks work/ act properly annotatively once inserted and adjusted as mentioned above, but again, why? Why? Why is this necessary? All of the scale are in the block file as it resides in my block folder...?
Photoshop :: CS5 - Some Functions That Work On 32 Bit Don't Work On 64 Bit
Nov 1, 2013In Photoshop CS5 some of the functions on 64 bit do not work, but everything seems to work on 32 bit. I have not searched for all the functions that don't work on 64 bit. I just use the 32 bit program, but I would like to know why the 64 bit program doesn't work right. I would like to be able to use it.

Nov 3, 2005I downloaded a trial of Xara Xtreme and Xara 3d 6. Well, I wasn't happy with Xtreme. The demo is sans textures and a few other things and seems to have the need to contact home for everything. I really don't like demos that don't offer the full app. Xara 3d 6 however was really quite a surprise. Then I recalled purchasing 5 last year just for fun but never installing it. I located the disk and ran it. What I didn't know was that I could export quite a few file formats usable in PS, not just animated gifs. That the image can be fully manipulated using keyboard commands and that you can create textures in other apps like Bryce, ZBrush and PS and place the jpegs into Xara's texture folder and use them as applicable textures. Now, as you may know, a great source for shapes can be found using fonts. Using fonts in Xara, applying some homegrown textures along with the inherent 3d capabilities of Xara 3D will be a great source of elements for the type of work I do in Photoshop.

Aug 30, 2011I'm doing a bit of very simple DTP in Xara and I wanted to check my approach to creating text across multiple pages:
1) Create a text block (I think Xara calls these a 'story') about the size of the page on Page 1 and then enter a bunch of text until it spills out of the bottom.
2) Add a second page.
3) Here's where I may not be doing things 'correctly'... I want the spill over from Page 1 to go onto page 2 so I copied the text block on Page 1, Paste it in-place onto Page 2, deleted the text content on Page 2 then finally go back to page 1 and drag from the little icon in the bottom right of the text block into page 2's block.
Xara :: Exporting To SVG?
Jul 17, 2013When exporting to SVG is there a way to just have the graphic exported and not the whole page? Even when the graphic is selected when going into the Export option the saved file shows the whole page and not just the graphic.

I have never downloaded textures or other things like this before so I have a dumb question, lol... I unzipped the folder, but I don't know where to put the textures. Try to export as PDF.
Preset Selections: Custom.
Click on Advanced Options.
Choose Pre-Press.
Here I chose a custom color profile (PSRgravureHWC.icc), which significantly changes the colors.
Everything worked okay in Xtreme Pro 5.
But now, when I switch on Embed profile, the resulting PDF shows the same colors, as if the switch was not ticked.
