I would like my DVD output to fill more of my (be larger) TV screen. I am copying VHS tapes to DVD using Sony DvDirect. The DVD files are then imported into Video Studio Pro 4, edited, and then output to DVD. The input and output is 4:3 and frame size is 720 x 480. I can't set this to a larger frame size using any of the tools I've found. Is it the frame size I want to increase?
View 10 RepliesI upgraded from VS 12 into VS Pro X5 Ultimate a while ago and now I have some issues in editing some old footage taken with Sony H9 camera. This camera makes 640*480 30 frames/s Mpeg-1 video files.
After editing the movie, I would like to export it into 640*480 30 frames/s Mpeg-2 file as I used to be able to do with VS 12 (in the old Win-XP machine, current one is Win-7 64-bit). Now however, the VS X5 does not give me the option in 'Create Video File' to set 'User-defined' frame size.
It only lists under MPEG-files -> Options: standard 720 x 576 (yes I am on PAL region) and 25 frames/s. Why is this? The only encoder shown is 'Ulead MPEG.Now Encoder'. Maybe I had some other encoder available in the Win-XP machine?
I have been searching for Win-7 MPEG-2 encoder, but no luck.
How to get user-defined frame-size and rates under MPEG-2 encoder in VS PRO X5 ???
When first making the video in Edit mode, is there any way to see the final output size before or after selecting Create Video File before the file is created.
If I choose Create Disk it will show the output size.
If not what would the maximum running time be for DVD output?
Using VS4. The largest frame size for MPG4 output is 720zx576. I cannot specify custom frame size as the area is not available (dimmed out). what gives? I want to try and move from WMV at 12870x720 but the frame size for MPG4 is not customizable.

I wish to record to DVD disc at same or similar quality but 720 x 480 is the best I can seem to get from VS x 4 Pro "Ultimate".
In: Settings > Preferences > Performance > Video Save Options > Frame Size - "User Defined" is not available and the highest resolution in "Standard" is 720 x 480. Where is the information I need?
I have edited an mp4 video whose original frame size is 512x384. When I go to Share this edited mp4 video, I select the Create Video File option and then I select "Same as First Video Clip." I then get the following error message:
"The frame size (512x384) of the video file does not match the settings and therefore cannot be trimmed."
Why am I getting this error? How can the edited video not match its own frame size?
1.I am using the latest version of videostudio which I upgraded today today June 11, 2011.
2.I am using a Sanyo Video Camcorder PD2, which I am recording in 1280 x 720 29.97 frames per second.
3.I’ve imported the video, into the program, and I am simply trying to “join” the video by using step three that is “Share.”
4.I am clicking option “create video file” and then the option “same as first video clip” because I would like to preserve the same video settings. There are other ways I could join the clips, but these ways do not preserve the video settings. So when I choose “same as first video clip I get my error message “The frame size of the video (1280 x 720) does not match the settings and therefore cannot be trimmed.’
Why is it that you can't activate the user defined frame size when trying to define a custom movie template or edit an existing one on the fly during a file save operation?

I thought the best way to construct my video would be to 'cut' out all the sections of video I wanted to use, and save them in the library. When I had them all, I could then bring them down to the timeline where each needed to go. The videos I am working from are 512x288, and when I try to use the 'save trimmed video' function, it comes back saying my frame size is not per the settings.
I haven't seen a way to make the project accept a different frame size, that option is grayed out under preferences. Is there a way for me to cut out the sections I want and save them individually?
I have VideoStudio SE, packaged with Sabrent USB-AVCPT cables. I was able to capture video for a while. Now when I try I get the following message. "Capture video bit rate is 300. Frame size is 640 X 480. When using this frame size the video bit rate should be between 1578 - 8838."

When I try to save one of the trimmed scenes using "Save trimmed video," I get the error: "Unable to compress video with the specific frame rate or frame size." Ok so my image size is about 24x20 and when I save the output of the image is almost half the size. The project has a lot of details so it looks like a big blob shrunken down to half size. I've played around with the settings for hours in save for web option and I get the same results. how to save so the output is nearly the original size, or just so you can see the details!
I am having a problem when exporting surface data into an .xml format using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012. I am using LIDAR information to create a surface over an area of approximately 3 hectares in order to undertake future flood modelling. When I have created my surface in Civil 3D the overall file size is around 5MB, however when the surface exported to a .xml format the file is approximately 860MB. I have tried to create a new surface from contour information to decrease overall fle size but with no avail. Any recommendations to decrease the .xml file size without having excessive loss of accuracy for my modelling.

I do a lot of animations so I create FG maps and freeze them. I normally render at 1280 x 720 and create my FG maps at 480 x 270 and samples per pixel at min 4 max 64.
Does samples per pixel effect FG maps. I read somewhere it doesn't and that you can quite happily render FG maps at min 1/64 max 1/64. Which would increase the speed of the crateing FG maps.
Would I be better lowering my samples per pixel and highering my output size?

In creating a video output I am looking for WMV Frame Width 720 Frame Height 480. I have created outputs with WMV HD 720 30p that is 1280 by 720... My issue when I stream that wireless over to my game systems or even my laptop. I am getting lagg. I get no lag on video outputs with WMV 720 by 480. Those video I created with Microsoft MM. I just got VideoStudio and its great! , but my issue I would like to output to WMV 720 by 480 and I do not see that option.
I have been on game forums and wireless forums, and since the WMV 720 by 480 and still working. I am trying to use VS3 to output to that for testing.
My setup is that my game systems and laptop are connected to TV in the house so I stream our events to them for people to see.
WMV HD 720 30p that is 1280 by 720 - is causing the lagg...
WMV 720 by 480 - no lagg...
I use the VideoStudio Pro X4 to edit my videos.
This time I have some problems with the quality of my finished projects. I have tried to burn my project as both DVD and AVCHD. On DVD the quality was really poor with grainy picture.
The AVCHD disc was much better but there was lots of "strobe" in the movie. Especially where I have added transitions and text fields.
My raw video-files is HD video (MTS-files). I also use the proxy tools to make the editing go smoother. I think my computer should handle this without the Roxy, but it doesn't.

Is it possible to edit a video, and have the output format, frame rate, etc r3epeat the input? So edit scenes etc, but not alter the quality from input.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am working on a simple video with two (3 second) overlay video clips. In the preview window everything looks great. After compressing the overlay clips shrink in height revieling the top & bottom of the main clip. If I over-stretch the overlay clips they still shrink down. I have gotten it to work once (don't know why) but that rendering the audio dropped off when the overlay started and never came back. That's a separate issue.
I saw where one person trying to solve a different issue mentioned to streach the overlay clip by the corners only? Is that important? I also tried turning on and off the "stretch to fit" option. I am not seeing a patern? I have also tried keeping the aspect ration on and off but that does not seem to give consistant results. I am sure it is a combination of some type.

I have a project with a number of mpg files in it. These mpg files were created using X3 from mts files.
I have done this many, many times. I created an mpg a few weeks ago without problems. Now, all of a sudden, I try to make the same mpg files and the exported video will stutter in places. It doesn't matter how many times I render the same project, the video stutters in the same exact spot. Like I said, I've done this many, many times and never had this problem.
what may have changed or been installed on my computer recently to cause this? I even reinstalled X3 with no luck.
Is there a way that you can convert a 4.3 import to a 16.9 output? I have imported a musical from a disc which is recorded in 4.3. I would like to output this as a widescreen video. I have tried putting in on the overlay track which gives a better output result but still has the borders each side.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from VS Pro X4 to VS Pro X5 and was shocked to see that there is no option to output a project to FLV under '3 Share > Create Video File'. Is this a feature removal or am I cursed with a defective copy of VS Pro X5?
As you can see in the screen above, the option (which was located at the bottom of the menu in VS Pro X4) is absent in VS Pro X5.
I am using Corel Video Studio Pro X4, I have asked the below questions previously, so far there has not been a solution. It appears Corel do not have any way to contact them when there is a problem
I chose this programme over Cyberlink Power Director as it had the 5.1 mixer and 3D capabilities. I now find Power Director Ultra 10 now has the 3D Capability, the 3D works very well, but no 5.1 mixer only a pesudo type 5.1 sound, the programme itself looks to be excellent quality.
Should there be no solution to my above problems, then the only choice I have is to use Power Director, a pity.

To my surprise, Seven minutes HD mp4 video, it just takes 9 minutes to output it. Then suddenly I got an idea, have a test with the entire popular video editor and Make a comparison.
After the test，I found that The same material, the same color and then same configuration，Corel Video Studio Pro X6 is obviously faster than Magi Movie Edit Pro Plus, Premiere CC、EDIUS7.0 and Vegas12, etc. Then I Immediately the video to my MOTOROLA ME865 SD CARDS and then play it with my smartphone, it is very smooth; then I copy the video to my U disk, and inserted it into my hisense flat-panel TV, it works well, too.
Seven minutes of hd MP4, the volume is 592 MB, and then a minute within 100 m on average, that is, an ordinary DVD, hd can hold 45 minutes MP4, convenient to keep the family film. The Conclusion is that ulead video studio has a bright spot, the new version of their X6 version described output hd MP4 has unique advantage! That’s all!
I am making a holiday greeting card. I have 16 very larged photo images "linked" (not embedded) into the card. The original images are very large (e.g. 4500 x 3000 px, 10mb) but I've placed them fairly small in the final card (only about 2" x 2" printed). Therefore, I likely don't need the full resolution of the original photos. I need to generate a final file that I can send to an online print shop, something that is ideally 10-25Mb in size, probably pdf. How to prepare the final file for export to pdf to generate as such? Right now, the final file is 275Mb because it is embedding the full size of each of the 16 images.
I'm on Illustrator CS6 on Mac.
Edits look nice in size such as fit screen, but awful in the larger views. Instructions have been to view edits at 100% but what size=what % view of what one would see the picture once it is viewed on a computer, figuring that people will not enlarge too terribly much.

I live in Europe and my video source is Full HD 25fps, but Video Studio's mpeg-4 codec has only parameter constants 30fps.
