Edits look nice in size such as fit screen, but awful in the larger views. Instructions have been to view edits at 100% but what size=what % view of what one would see the picture once it is viewed on a computer, figuring that people will not enlarge too terribly much.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having problems getting my final prints to match the screen view. Most recently I have had this problem: I have an image that is sized to 5X7. I have it on a 5X7 template in the print module of Lightroom. The image dimensions in Lightroom say 5X7. I print on 5X7 paper (I actually measured it to be sure). ON the screen they look perfect, match the the templates and measure out fime with the onscreen rulers. Without fail a portion of the print is cut off on the final print. The long side of the print is the most effected. This is not just limited to 5X7's, it happens across the board. Is this a common problem or I am I doing something wrong? In the 5X7 example above the print comes out 5.2 X 7.3 give or take. I am using Lightroom 5.3 on an iMac running OS 10.9.1. The printer is a Canon Pro 100.

What about the full screen view and compare side by side view? Do they still exist. If they do, can you still see the image full-size by clicking on it in full screen view?

View 1 Replies View RelatedUpgrading from PSE 10 to 11, I noticed that when I watch my images with the organizer in PSE 11 in full screen view mode (F11), while the images load faster, they are shown in a lower quality than in PSE 10 or any other version of PSE that I owned before. In PSE 11, after the initial viewing in full screen (in the "fit screen" mode), when I click with the mouse on an image to display the "100%" view, there is a delay and the program says "Loading...", after which the 100% view in the full screen mode appears. When I then click another time with the mouse on the image to get back to "fit screen" mode, I get an image of better quality than during the initial view!
So it seems like the program first gives a faster, but lower quality view of the image in full screen mode, and only after the user requests a 100% view, it actually loads the image with full detail, which is then preserved when going back to the "fit screen" view. This is a serious issue for me, because I also use PSE organizer to present my pictures to other people, and I don't want to show them some lower quality versions of my images, but the full quality ones, without having to first choose "100% view" and then go back to "fit screen".
How can I make the PSE 11 organizer give me a full-quality full screen image right away, as this used to be the case in PSE10 and before?
(I have both versions, PSE 11 and PSE 10, now on the same computer and tested this to confirm that the PSE 11 initial full screen view is of lower quality than the PSE 10 one. Also in PSE 10, there is practically no delay for displaying the "100%" view afterwards, indicating that the image was loaded with full detail right away.)
I have a new Lenovo laptop with Windows 8. I have installed my Photoshop elements 8, but find the fonts on all the edit screen too small to read. Can I increase their size?How? Is Elements 8 compatible with Windows 8?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a large image and while the Organizer is fine with it, neither the Editor nor the Full Screen view of the Organizer will work with it.
Currently I have MaxImageSize at 200M, but can't find a similar setting for the Editor, and clearly it doesn't work for the full screen view either, so if there is a setting that enables these functions, that would be useful information.

Each time I open a new image in ACR and then open image the editing screen reverts to QUICK mode and a smaller screen size. I then have to click to change it to EXPERT mode and then click to make it full screen. I never had this problem with PSE 10.
(I am bringing RAW images in from outside and not via Organiser.)
Is there a way to set these defaults?
Can not view image at full size when in liquify. e.g. the image is much smaller when you select liquify and when you enlarge it it pixelates. Is there a adjust or is something wrong with my Elements?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to merge for example 3 fullsize jpgs ( 2304x3400 ) the resulting panorama is a file thet is only 1300 pixels wide ( although stitched correctly ). Seems strange to me as there are no options I know of the determine the output size.
Im on Mac ( Mac Mini with 1,2 gb of ram and CS3).
Here is the needed information:
Equipment: Windows XP system; Dell E773c monitor; Photoshop CS2; Canon i950; Nikon D70
Steps taken so far:
1) Set Nikon D70 to Adobe RGB color space
2) Calibrated monitor using Spyder2 Pro
3) Downloaded printer profiles that match paper being used
4) Followed instructions for Print w/ Preview: Adobe RGB applied; Photoshop determine colors; select printer profile; rendering intent- perceptual
So I think I did everything right. The printed picture is off in several tones and comes off darker feeling all together.
What can I do differently to make the output match the monitor?
Why is the image on the screen small the the actual file size. As an example I have an image thats 5.7x5.7 @72DPI. My canvas says 100% but the image on screen is about 3x3.

Ok so my image size is about 24x20 and when I save the output of the image is almost half the size. The project has a lot of details so it looks like a big blob shrunken down to half size. I've played around with the settings for hours in save for web option and I get the same results. how to save so the output is nearly the original size, or just so you can see the details!
The loupe view on the second screen used to display information about the photo. I double clicked on it and it disappeared and no matter what I do I can't seem to get it back.
On the primary screen this can be added/removed or changed in Library Module by selecting the menu view->view options... which gets you to a settings window where you can set what shows. However, I cannot seem to find a similar thing for the second monitor.
While in CFX, Action, Text edit, Axis etc, is there a way to see the output of the timeline? I know while in CFX you can set the CFX output as a context but what if I have multiple CFX composites stacked up and I want to see the final output of the timeline while editing or modifying something inside a CFX or Action node?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI would like my DVD output to fill more of my (be larger) TV screen. I am copying VHS tapes to DVD using Sony DvDirect. The DVD files are then imported into Video Studio Pro 4, edited, and then output to DVD. The input and output is 4:3 and frame size is 720 x 480. I can't set this to a larger frame size using any of the tools I've found. Is it the frame size I want to increase?

Example: if I select 500x500 output size, when play the resulting avi, its 720x480. I really couldn't solve the problem. Even I am typing 500x500 custom size into output size command. View 9 Replies View RelatedI am creating colage images in Photoshop CS4. I sometimes use scanned vintage daguerreotypes or other small snapshots. They are often small sized at 3.5" x 4.5" or 4.25" x 5.5". My Epson 835 scanner can scan in at 300, 400, up to 800 dpi. If I intend to print these scans at 8x10, 11x14 or a larger size within the overall collage, should I scan in at the highest dpi allowed by my scanner? Does this make a real difference after 300 in resolution/clarity?
Also, Does Photoshop CS4, in the enlarging process, as I bring the smaller image into my composite and stretch size it up with (T) tool, end up just making "junk pixels" using "Bicubic" or "Bicubic smoother" in the printing from flattened PS file, even tho I scanned in at a high dpi? scan in at best dpi so that the image won't be pixelated, lose resolution as it is used larger inside the final composite collage.
In the camera view is there a way to hide everything outside the output region, I'm finding it really hard to judge the layout with all the overlapping layers in my scene..?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem when exporting surface data into an .xml format using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012. I am using LIDAR information to create a surface over an area of approximately 3 hectares in order to undertake future flood modelling. When I have created my surface in Civil 3D the overall file size is around 5MB, however when the surface exported to a .xml format the file is approximately 860MB. I have tried to create a new surface from contour information to decrease overall fle size but with no avail. Any recommendations to decrease the .xml file size without having excessive loss of accuracy for my modelling.

I do a lot of animations so I create FG maps and freeze them. I normally render at 1280 x 720 and create my FG maps at 480 x 270 and samples per pixel at min 4 max 64.
Does samples per pixel effect FG maps. I read somewhere it doesn't and that you can quite happily render FG maps at min 1/64 max 1/64. Which would increase the speed of the crateing FG maps.
Would I be better lowering my samples per pixel and highering my output size?

lately I've been started working on Illustrator, since I've always loved the vector pen tool in Photoshop, but I've notice something...
let's say I want to work on an A4 page. I start a new PRINT document, and set the A4 size at 300 DPI. If I do that on Photoshop, I'll get a huge white page that at 100% goes way out my screen, but if I start a document with the same size in Illustrator, I get a page that's smaller than my screen (at 100%).
I guess it's normal because those programs might work in different ways, but I'm concerned about it because this way, in Illustrator a 1pt size brush will always be bigger than in Photoshop.
I upgraded from VS 12 into VS Pro X5 Ultimate a while ago and now I have some issues in editing some old footage taken with Sony H9 camera. This camera makes 640*480 30 frames/s Mpeg-1 video files.
After editing the movie, I would like to export it into 640*480 30 frames/s Mpeg-2 file as I used to be able to do with VS 12 (in the old Win-XP machine, current one is Win-7 64-bit). Now however, the VS X5 does not give me the option in 'Create Video File' to set 'User-defined' frame size.
It only lists under MPEG-files -> Options: standard 720 x 576 (yes I am on PAL region) and 25 frames/s. Why is this? The only encoder shown is 'Ulead MPEG.Now Encoder'. Maybe I had some other encoder available in the Win-XP machine?
I have been searching for Win-7 MPEG-2 encoder, but no luck.
How to get user-defined frame-size and rates under MPEG-2 encoder in VS PRO X5 ???
