We typically extend steel stringers past the bottom tread to the point where truncating yeilds a 4" vertical edge. This is done to match adjacent 4" high baseboard. I understand that the sketch lines can be extended BUT can it be done with this precision?
Is this beyond the capabilites of Revit?
How do I show high level walkways and balconies (in dashed outline) on the ground floor plan in a high volume space?
Obviously I can turn the first floor RCP on in the view and manually draw the information, but I assume these lines won't move if the walkways above move (or am I wrong?). Also this seems slightly wrong given the amount of automation available.

View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently we bought numbers of Revit Suite 2013 and expects the best performances from it. but, regretably speaking the rendering time is worst than before upgrading.In addition to that, we also upgraded our Workstation to 16 GB RAM and a QUADRO graphic engine, but it still take more than an hour to render one simple view.what could be the cause? i hope it is not the software that we bought( cost us thousands... ) here i post the rendering screen and the task performance while we are rendering,ASAP reply needed as all our REVIT workstations moving away from our deep expectation.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having a technical question with a customers Revit Architecture 2012. The project he's working on is about 90 Megabytes in size, and the references are about 60MB. He is storing these on a network share. Unfortunately they are still on a 100MBit network. As Workstation he is using a DELL Precision M6500 (notebook) with the following specs:
when he is trying to zoom in on and out of this project, he is experiencing high waiting time between the zoom-steps, sometimes unbearably long. As the notebook is brandnew and tested I didn't blame it on faulty hardware. So I suggested to run the same Project on a different machine.
I don't know much about the software architecture of Revit Architecture, so i don't know which hardware component is mostly stressed when zooming in and out (guessing the gfx, because the project needs to be recalculated?). I guess there lies the bottleneck.The customer requested an answer, which hardware needs to be exchanged / upgraded in order to accelerate the zoom-steps, decrease the latency.

why i can't not match properties (MP) multileader texts, as you can see on the pic, i want the Mleader text on the right to be the same size as on the left, they are in the same layer, same mleader style but when click MP to match with the one on the left, nothing happen?
I currently use Mep 2012 although my question I believe is general in nature. As a sheet metal contractor I do drawings that have many different entities at various elevations. Many times I use change propeties to match the propeties of on entity like a linetype to change another. What I really need to do is have the ability to use a similiar button and match or change the "Z" elevation of a specific entity just like I do for linetype, color etc.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI had noticed this when I tried using a loud audio sound effect so I removed it and changed it to something else but I am concerned about this. Here is the situation:
Segment 1: talking head video
Segment 2: black block with animation and no sound
Segment 3: black block with animation and a short sound effect (breaking glass)
Segment 4: black block with the end of animation and voice from the video
Segment 5: back to the talking head video as a continuation of segment 1
The problem I notice is that the sound, in segment 4 is very low as if the video is "recovering" from the sound effect in the previous segment. It is like it adds a fade-in where I don't need one at all.
Is that a normal "reaction" of the audio after a sound effect?

I have drawn a shape as you will see in the attached. The white 'arches' are not there as objects in their own right, they are as a result of the orange objects and the yellow ring.
I will be passing this to a laser engraving machine and need to cut-out each object seen in its own right, including the 'arches'. Clearly in a normal printer I could just put a coloured circle behind the other objects but on a laser I need the actual shape.
I don't want to manually try to fit a bezier as the cut-out parts need to be a perfect fit as it is going to be an inlay. Each colour will be a different type of wood. Is there a macro tool that would do it?
I've 2 FDO Layer (polygon). Layer1 contains zoning and Layer2 contains small area. The goal is to merge all polygons (1 or more) of Layer2 into only 1 polygon in each zone of Layer1.
I can do an FDO Overlay (Identity) to copy ID of zone to Layer2, but I don't know (except manually) how to merge polygons with 1 common information.
How do I blend the edges of these adjacent images to eliminate the hard line between them?

Everything lines up but there is a very fine white line between the images. I have tried feathering, blurring, masking and feathering, blending, anything I can find in the online manual and in Photoshop for dummies.

Below is a bitmap image that I would like to turn into a vector image using Corel Draw X4. The outer thin pinstripe is what I typically struggle with on things like this. I know there must be a quick and easy way to draw it, but I've yet to find it. What would be the quickest and best way to draw that pinstripe?
I am trying out this option, and am noticing that whenever I close and reopen the drawing with a surface that uses this option, it resets my maximum angle from whatever I have it set to, to 90 degrees. Am I missing some setting that defaults the max angle to 90 degrees on drawing open? Or is something else going on here?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm modelling liner plates on a conveyor chute and I want the liners and the fixing bolts to align on between the walls which are different. angles.
I've modeled the liners on the first wall how I want them and now want to project lines from the top and bottom of the liner plates as well as the centers of the bolt holes on this wall to the adjacent wall.
I cant seem to get the lines to project onto the adjacent wall at the same level.
I've posted two images of the model that hopefully illustrate the problem. I would love to put a zipped folder of the model up to which is under 3MB in size but I keep getting an error message saying the size of the attachment is too large and that the maximum size is 1,572,864 bytes.
I need to place points automatically and in order sequentially along an alignment and I need to generate data from the points relative to an adjacent alignment. SO, two alignments, adjacent but not parrallel to each other. The data would then be point #, sta and offset from the adjacent alignment with the points placed in order and by window or crossing. I have a few thousand to place so one at a time would be an undesireable solution of course.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm creating a flow chart/decision tree. I am animating the position of a diagram on the stage when a user selects yes or no in answer to a series of questions.
I've split up each diagram movement on the stage timeline as labels. I've staggered these transforms as keyframes on the same layer/track. The issue I'm having is when I manipulate the position of my diagram by moving it on the stage it affects adjacent transforms. I have my transforms seperated with a 1/10 second gap becuase I thought this would split the timeline up but it appears not!
While I can edit the transforms manually by typing in xy co-ordinates it would be ten times faster to move the diagram on the stage instead and not overwrite adjacent transforms.
How do I restrict the transform to the two keyframe points I am concerned with?
I want to make a new function in my own add-in to drill holes in cupboard panels for a dowel connection.
I used to make holes in other "own" functions where the user selects the faces.
In this function the user must select 2 parts in an assembly and then find the adjacent (planar) faces. I need this faces to make the sketch for the holes.
How to find these adjacent faces?
I have a sanitary run manhole to manhole with null structures in between for lats. Each null is named "wye(lot#)" which I really do not need labeled anywhere but grants me the illusion of order and control. When I label the manhole (style uses text for each component) it references the inverts as from adjacent structure the nearest of which is the null. I need it to reference the upstream manhole as the from structure. BMP?
Another issue is the text for each component. There are times when I need to have the manhole label show "INV 8" IN 209.50 Int Drop (MH110)" or "INV 8" IN 208.75 w/ Slide (MH 108)". But as you know if I add to one I add to all. I found a post that discussed editing the xml to do this but my code either looked different than the example or I was looking at it cross eyed. I think if I could add an invert type column to the structure properties pipes tab the text for each component could add it to the label.Is there a better way people have been handling this?

I created a graphic to use on the web (72 dpi), client called and now they want to print it postcard size so they can mail it out. The Original image is 480 x 611.
Most of it is just text and a few rectangle marquee boxes to give color. There are three pictures used. What's the quickest way to replicate this? can I just create a new document at 300dpi and drag all my layers(except the pictures) into it from the low res one or do I have to recreate everything?
