Below is a bitmap image that I would like to turn into a vector image using Corel Draw X4. The outer thin pinstripe is what I typically struggle with on things like this. I know there must be a quick and easy way to draw it, but I've yet to find it. What would be the quickest and best way to draw that pinstripe?
I've received two orders of CDs for a client, and in the printed artwork there are some flaws that have me wondering what to do to avoid this.
Files were submitted in PDF format with text converted to curves. I believe the artwork is then imported into AI at the other end before going to print.
Along the edge of an object with a drop shadow, there is a fine white line showing. On the two products with identical artwork, the line shows on different edges, but appears to be where the drop shadow ends.
In other spots, there is what I would call "scratches", where, within an image there is a fine white line. This is not an edge or overlap, so I'm at a loss for this.
In another place, one character in a word essentially did not print. So I'm wondering what my "best practice" would be to avoid this. Should I "flatten" everything when I'm done, essentially converting the entire page to a single 300DPI bitmap?
Should I include text in the flattened bitmap, or is it best to leave as curves? My gut says leaving as curves preserves maximum resolution, but does it matter if it is not being scaled?
I've never before had issues with getting artwork printed from PDFs. In most cases, I imagine the print is created directly from my submitted PDF.
I am trying out this option, and am noticing that whenever I close and reopen the drawing with a surface that uses this option, it resets my maximum angle from whatever I have it set to, to 90 degrees. Am I missing some setting that defaults the max angle to 90 degrees on drawing open? Or is something else going on here?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm modelling liner plates on a conveyor chute and I want the liners and the fixing bolts to align on between the walls which are different. angles.
I've modeled the liners on the first wall how I want them and now want to project lines from the top and bottom of the liner plates as well as the centers of the bolt holes on this wall to the adjacent wall.
I cant seem to get the lines to project onto the adjacent wall at the same level.
I've posted two images of the model that hopefully illustrate the problem. I would love to put a zipped folder of the model up to which is under 3MB in size but I keep getting an error message saying the size of the attachment is too large and that the maximum size is 1,572,864 bytes.
The green line is parallel with the blue line. I want to move the green line upwards until its endpoints intersect with the two red lines.

I have drawn a shape as you will see in the attached. The white 'arches' are not there as objects in their own right, they are as a result of the orange objects and the yellow ring.
I will be passing this to a laser engraving machine and need to cut-out each object seen in its own right, including the 'arches'. Clearly in a normal printer I could just put a coloured circle behind the other objects but on a laser I need the actual shape.
I don't want to manually try to fit a bezier as the cut-out parts need to be a perfect fit as it is going to be an inlay. Each colour will be a different type of wood. Is there a macro tool that would do it?
I converted a PDF-file (PDF/X-1a) into a Photoshop file using Photoshop CC and got fine lines over the picture.
Using Photoshop CS5, those lines will not appear.
Setup: Windows 7, CS5, CIntiq 24HD
I just bought a Cintiq 24HD and tested it in Photoshop CS5. Unfortunately the lines are jagged. (I'm using the brushtool and on my wacom intous 3 everything was fine.) This only appears in PS, Painttool Sai is fine and has great line quality.
At first I thought it might be the second monitor, as this was mentioned in forums, but I moved and unplugged it and nothing happend. I tried other solutions as well like unabeling windows tablet components etc.
today I had opened my photoshop file which I was coloring ( a comic page) I allready spend 3days on this comic and I just don't wanne start over .I was working on it in CS6, As friends suggested I had opened it aswell in CS5 to try if it works there but no it didn't. I also placed it in AI, but sadly again the ugly line picture shows up .

In the meantime I just noticed that I have some white trails or fine lines in an image I'm working on that appear after I have been moving things around and deleting sections etc.
It's no problem on a little image like this to run around with the brush to tidy it up and then fill white/transparent, but I'm wondering if there is there a setting or an order of working that avoids making the lines in the first place?I have filled the background in black to show the trails...
I was wondering if there is some equivalent in Smoke to Final Cut's flicker filter, which I use frequently to eliminate flicker and 'buzzing' caused by fine lines, especially evident when HD is down converted to PAL for broadcast?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI had noticed this when I tried using a loud audio sound effect so I removed it and changed it to something else but I am concerned about this. Here is the situation:
Segment 1: talking head video
Segment 2: black block with animation and no sound
Segment 3: black block with animation and a short sound effect (breaking glass)
Segment 4: black block with the end of animation and voice from the video
Segment 5: back to the talking head video as a continuation of segment 1
The problem I notice is that the sound, in segment 4 is very low as if the video is "recovering" from the sound effect in the previous segment. It is like it adds a fade-in where I don't need one at all.
Is that a normal "reaction" of the audio after a sound effect?
I've 2 FDO Layer (polygon). Layer1 contains zoning and Layer2 contains small area. The goal is to merge all polygons (1 or more) of Layer2 into only 1 polygon in each zone of Layer1.
I can do an FDO Overlay (Identity) to copy ID of zone to Layer2, but I don't know (except manually) how to merge polygons with 1 common information.
How do I blend the edges of these adjacent images to eliminate the hard line between them?

Everything lines up but there is a very fine white line between the images. how do I reduce the size of an image and place it adjacent to another image. Let me explain it a bit better. I live on the Corner of two streets . A lamp post with the name of one of the streets is on the corner. I want to reduce the size of and place the image of the other street on the same lamp post.

SO, two alignments, adjacent but not parrallel to each other. The data would then be point #, sta and offset from the adjacent alignment with the points placed in order and by window or crossing. I have a few thousand to place so one at a time would be an undesireable solution of course.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm creating a flow chart/decision tree. I am animating the position of a diagram on the stage when a user selects yes or no in answer to a series of questions.
I've split up each diagram movement on the stage timeline as labels. I've staggered these transforms as keyframes on the same layer/track. The issue I'm having is when I manipulate the position of my diagram by moving it on the stage it affects adjacent transforms. I have my transforms seperated with a 1/10 second gap becuase I thought this would split the timeline up but it appears not!
While I can edit the transforms manually by typing in xy co-ordinates it would be ten times faster to move the diagram on the stage instead and not overwrite adjacent transforms.
How do I restrict the transform to the two keyframe points I am concerned with?
I am quite new to photoshop and am working through a few tutorials. In one of them it asks me to draw a line. Now I thought this would be really easy.
I clicked the Line tool and tried drawing it where the tutorial said, but all i got was a selected section and in the layers window it showed something about a mask. According to the tutoria it shouldn't do this.
I undid it and tried again, still the same problem. I tried deleting the mask and the work area just goes black.
Can someone please tell me how to create a Line without the whole mask businees.
P.S: I am using Photoshop CS on Windows XP.
I want to make a new function in my own add-in to drill holes in cupboard panels for a dowel connection.
I used to make holes in other "own" functions where the user selects the faces.
In this function the user must select 2 parts in an assembly and then find the adjacent (planar) faces. I need this faces to make the sketch for the holes.
How to find these adjacent faces?
I am using an older version of AutoCAD 2010. I cannot find where the "double line" feature is under the drop down menu under "draw".
