Revit :: Scheduling Of Doors In Groups

Jul 24, 2011

I am using groups for each type of apartment in the project i am doing, Some groups are mirrored, In my door schedule i added a parameter (instance) for my door orientation (Left or right orientation).  The problem is when i note a door ina  group as left and the same door in the mirrored apt needs to be right it keeps the same note for each door as it thinks the group in not mirrored.

Revit :: Delete Mystery Doors In Groups

Apr 2, 2013

I have a project containing 4 similar groups, which were mirrored and went through the "Fix Groups" error.  I think I made them unique to avoid ungrouping.

The issue I'm having now is that one of these groups has a couple doors in it that once existed in the design and are now no longer necessary.  However, they were deleted at some point, but still exist when I highlight over the group (the first attachment shows an overlapping door highlighted in red and the purple location has a set of double doors--see second attachment).  No amount of tabbing will allow me to delete them and I can't ungroup them.  Do I need to just start over with a similar group?  Or can I somehow find these doors and delete them?

AutoCAD Architecture :: Scheduling Doors From Door Tag

Feb 20, 2011

Currently our door schedule populates when the doors are inserted into the drawing. I would like to know if I can set the schedule up so it populates when the door is tagged. Our doors are inserted into a base plan and that base plan is xrefed into various sheets.

The doors are tagged in one of these sheets and not the base plan. It takes too much time to stop and set up the schedule to schedule the doors across the xref for every project we do. I have read several articles but none of them explain how to schedule from the tag that I can see. I thought this was how the schedule was set up in a previous version.

Revit :: Scheduling Graphic Components

Feb 17, 2014

Is it possible to make the graphic represention of a component in a schedule (make a legend component representation a parameter) or use legends dynamically. I would like to schedule all the casework with quantities of each component. But the current schedule has a graphic representation next to the quantities but it is not in revit and the quanties are determined manually by counting them. I know there is a add on you can purchase to create dynamic legends but is there a way to do this directly in Revit?

Revit :: Scheduling Glazing In Door Schedule?

May 29, 2013

I am trying to add the typical category of "glazing" to a door schedule, but when I add a door with glass into my project, I cannot make this information show up on my schedule.  I need typical information such as "!/4" Temp" and "1" Insul" under the category of glazing.  I added the "Door: Glass" heading in the schedule, but nothing appears when I add a glass door into the project. I was able to easily do this in AutoCAD Architecture.

Revit :: Vertical Reveals With Doors

Jul 5, 2013

I need to model a wall in plan which has a section that is inset on one side.  The inset having beveled faces.  I have achieved this using a vertical wall reveal with a profile to suit the shape of the inset.  This works very well until I place a door in the centre of the wall where the reveal has reduced its width, the reveal disappearing and the door appearing in a full width wall.

Does this mean that a reveal cannot be used in this way and that I should find another way of modelling the reduced width wall? See drawings below:

Revit :: Assigning Materials To Doors?

Jun 28, 2012

There are several i-drop items in a doors catalogue, having selected three for a tools pallette, one item is a 2 panelled door, a regular fitting, some infills are glass, so how to assign materials?

The principal panels do not list in Object Display, seem to be 'untouchables' while outter frame, stops, muntins can be assigned hardwood or softwood finishes. How to change a plain yellow object into a regular door, with or without glass?

Revit :: Nesting Families - Putting Various Doors Together?

May 24, 2013

I'm putting various doors together, and we have a variety of frame types / door leaf combinations - including occasions where door leafs are inserted in glazed screens (These are timber doors / screens).

It seems to make sense to have the door leaf as a family, then nest those into hosted door frame / screen family. This would allow the 3 or 4 different door leaf types to be switched into the frame / screen combos.

The principal seems to work - but before embarking on the process of putting these together, are there any consequences that should deter me, or that I need to take into consideration ?

Revit :: Doors Will Not Show Up In First Floor Plan?

Nov 2, 2011

Somehow today all the doors and cased openings dissapeared in my first floor plan.

They show up in the 3d views, sections, and second floor plan, but not in the first. I have checked the visibilty settings, and they are all checked and correct, and I have checked the height of my floor cut, which is adequately at 4 feet high. Additionally, if I make the detail level "fine" then the casings will show up around the wall but the wall will not show the door cut. The doors show up in a previous version of the model, so I'm not sure what has happened to cause the dissapearance.

Revit :: Doors Not Hosted By Walls In Project

Mar 26, 2012

In a project I'm working on we have some doors in large accordian room partitions that need to appear in the schedule however they will not be hosted in a wall in our model.  The walls are 2d in the CAD background from a consultant.  I created a door family that can be placed and scheduled however the "Room #" field does not populate.  Is there a way to add that to the family?  I believe the issue comes up because the doors are not in a wall that is "Room Bounding" or in a wall at all.

Revit :: Rotation Challenges In Groups

I'm trying to host a face-based family to another family, and then group them together.  I have tried hosting to the item itself, and also creating a separate group where the items are hosted to the floor, grouped, and then the group elevation set to the height I need.  In both situations, I'm seeing rotation issues - certain instances of the face-based family will rotate to the set degree, and others will remain in their original position.  (see attached) The only other option I have is to nest the face-based family into the host family, but that is not how I would like this to work.

Then I receive an error message that cannot be ignored saying [Cannot paste view-specific elements from different views]. So I am not sure what is happening. The elements that I am copying and pasting are mainly drafting work.

I also noticed that copy/paste part of the drafted work sometimes work. But when I copy the whole drafted work from ‘Drafted View’ to ‘Section View. It gives me the error!!
