View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a project where I have got a drawing from an architect which is drawn as a mesh.
I consists of triangular panels which is joined together with different angles. (see attachment)
I have tried to model it in 3d with autocad, but I can`t get the joints to be precise.
I am going to produce this panels with our cnc-router in a 12 mm mdf board.
The panels has to be mitered in the joints.
I have the following questions:
Is it possible in autocad, to model this figure and separate each panel, with the correct angles on the edges?
can we create multiple panels in window (revit2013)
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat's the best way to create tilt up concrete panels? In the screen grab bellow, I used an extrusion, gave it concrete material, and left a 10mm gap between each panel to create that illusion.
Can this be done as a wall, if so how do I add those gaps/voids?
I'm, trying to update my wall profile so that all of my interior walls have baseboard/molding on them. I've been successful in creating a wall profile with molding, but only on one side. Looks like this in plan view. (Molding is highlighted and only on one side.)So, I first try to update my wall profile like this:
And I either duplicate, or add another sweep to the wall, and make that "Exterior" as to be on the "other" side of the wall. However, after pressing "OK" and "OK" at the wall profile editing box, I get the following error box:
When I click on "Show", I'm shown nothing. When I click on "Enjoin Elements", this same box comes up no matter how many times I click on the "Enjoin Elements" button.
Having problems adding molding to both sides of their interior walls? Am I going about this the right way? Tried to smallify the actual .rvt file, but I can't get it down to an acceptable size for posting here.
I have a question about wall profiles. I want to make a profile on a wall so I can make Zinc Panels on the wall that are 10" X 20". I've attached a picture of what I'm going for. I'd like it to have a 1/2" spacing between them and with a joint depth of 1" and I'd like to do this is the wall type so that I can use this wall in multiple places rather than having it model-in-place. Anyway I have made a profile that is 1" X 10" so that it can become my panel profile. But when I go to add it to the wall as a wall sweep as I have seen people do I get hung up on how to make it tile up the wall and also I don't understand how to make the profile so that it is 20" wide. I have a screen shot of where I'm editing this too. Below is the link of the site.

All looks good, except for the joint line. In section view, I use Join Geometry tool and it works, the joint is gone. However on Elevation and 3D viiews the line is still there.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using vertical wall reveals for joints in concrete tilt-up panels. They work just fine until I need to dimensions to their centerlines. I tried using two 'half joints', but as soon as I align them I lose the option to snap to the side of the reveal in the center of the joint. The attached image shows both attempts. Is there a way to get this to work?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've been added and removed specific mullions along curtain wall grid lines and now have the mullions where I want them. Unfortunately, some of the glass panels remain divided along the grid lines even though the mullions have been removed. Is there some way to join the two panels into one?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI created a curtain panel family and loaded it into my project where I had created a mass and divided the surface, and changed the panels to be my curtain panel family i created. The mass has a curve that I want the panel to be on the inside of, but the panel is always placed on the outside. File is attached. So on the smaller curve on the north side of my building, the panels are placed on the inside of the building instead of the outside. How can I place the panels on the outside of the building along the curve?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to export my floor plan to dwg file and I have curtain wall there which have panels as regular wall types. The problem is that exporting it will put those panels on the wall layer. I need them to be on curtain wall panel layer. I tried to use "Function" parameter in wall family by changing certain wall types to Retaining (since I don't use this parameter) and changed Wall/Retaining category layer to curtain panel in dwg export setup. But it seems it has no effect.I also noticed that walls inserted as panels into curtain wall do have a parameter under "Identity Data" with the name "Categorize as" where are two values - wall or panel. But this does not have any effect either since there is no category for it in export setup.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have created a operable window to insert in a curtain wall system based on the "Window - Curtain Wall" family. I created a simple extrusion for the glazing panel and assigned it the subcategory of "Glass". When loaded in the project, the cut lines of this panel are a much heavier weight than mullions, other glass panels, etc. The lines are so thick, the double line just becomes a fat single line as they merge together. Adjacent glass panels don't have this line weight problem. I can find no override or other control/parameter that fixes this.

I've tried using the reveal tool in the wall drop down but it won't allow a reveal to be placed in the custom wall.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am running Windows 8. I have used multiple .NET Framework removal/repair tools, tried uninstalling all versions of .NET and reinstalling 4.0 from its official Microsoft standalone installer. However, every time I try to install 4.0, I recieve a message stating that it or a higher version of .NET is already installed.
Upon further research, I was informed that the .NET 4.5 Framework is an integral part of Windows 8 that cannot be uninstalled.
I cannot access any of the tools I need to in the program, so it is basically rendered useless (don't tell me to just use shortcuts because that is extreemely tedious and painful to make work properly, ive tried it). I have also thought about just installing Revit 11' and using that, but it is no longer available from Autodesk!
I have a problem inserting the slanted columns when I use the "Beam/Column joints" commando. When I insert the slanted column, the beams are divided.
It should look like picture 1, but it always ends up as image 2. How can I solve this?
How do you create an alternating curtain panel pattern in a hexagon divided surface curtain wall without individually selecting the panels?
I want the "rows" of hexagons to alternate between solid and void.
I'm trying to figure out a small problem I have with creating a Blob-like form. I've created a mass by creating a form out of six (two per level) reference lines. The Form comes out nice, but whenever I divide the form, the two created surfaces don't align with each other. Therefore, when I create curtain walls or patterns on this form, they don't match up either.
I have attached two images and a Conceptual massing file with the mass inside.
I have 4 panels up on the screen and I want to end up with a jpg that has all four panels. How do I do that?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I apply a curtain system to a mass, the curtain panels flip inside to outside as shown in the attached image, when applied to a curved mass surface. Additionally, if these systems are applied independently the system justification (beginning and end) is reversed.

I recently began using Unity at work, exporting from Maya does not allow me to keep Blend Shapes or Deformers (not even by doing a Geometry Cache, Unity does not read any of that) and wanted to test out how to make a facial rig using joints in case I ever need one.I have seen demos using 3D Studio Max and I see the gist of it is to create a round joint hierarchy around the mouth and eye, mimicking the edge flow. The place where I got stuck is when I saw a NURBS controller in Max move a parent joint without affecting the children joints. I know how to move a parent joint without affecting its children (press Insert) but not how to set a constrain to do the same in Maya. If I use a parent constrain or direct parenting moving the parent joint drags all the children along.
How can I get a constrain to affect only the parent joint and not its children?
I have 3+ Nurbs Circles that I have parented up in a hierarchy and now want to use them to create an IK chain.I can create a chain with a joint system, but can I create it with just my curves? I have tried using the IK handle tool and it requests that I LMB on the first joint and nothing happens.

How to use joints. (Joins still confuse me.)

Is it possible to make an object, say a NurbsSphere to always be on top of the geometry in the viewport, like x-ray on joints. That way, I could use a small sphere in say the Elbow as a controller, and it could be inside the mesh but not hidden. Much like what you see here:

Is that really not possible?
I see a lot of skeletons that people created with handles on them so you can manipulate your joints easier (Like arrows and nurb circles etc.) Is there a good tutorial that can show me how to make handles for my joints?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI picked up two characters that I had working just fine about 3 years ago. Somehow, when I imported them into the same file, the skins came unbound. Annoying, but not insurmountable--rebind and weight painting took a couple hours. However, while the controls move the joints and deform the skins, the global move controls do not move the characters. It seems like the main mass of the bodies are stuck in place.
