Is there a method to get the Pocket Camera CinemaDNG files to work in premiere ? (or Speed grade?) They work as individual frames in Photoshop. Apparently they are "compressed" CinemaDNG files.
View 28 RepliesI have a black magic and have problems setting the sound properly in PR to get the sound out through the black magic. Although settings seem to have been done properly, there is no sound coming out. When I start the setting again, most of the time the settings have automatically changed and are not on the black magic anymore.

These are not XML from Final Cut. They are files saved from Media Express, a Black magic design program used for Capturing.
When I import 5D III cinemadng's into Premiere 7.1, the footage comes in with a weird pink overlay. It's not just a tint shift, but some sort of color distortion. After Effects and Photoshop both read the file just fine via Camera Raw.

I have created 3 different sequences, and placed a clip into each one. I went into #s 1 and 2, and added a dip to black transition to the end of the clip in each. When I went to #3, I was unable to add the dip to the clip in there. Dragging the transition to the clip on the timeline gave me a had with a circle + slash. Double clicking the transition wit hteh clip selected did nothing. The layer is not locked.

In Pluraleyes, I would lay all my Cam 1 material on video track 1 (multiple clips), then Cam 2 on video track 2 (multiple clips), add my audio, and create a multicam track that kept all Cam 1 clips on track 1 and all Cam 2 clips on track 2.
in Premiere Pro CC, multicam creation can only be exectued via the browser, not the timeline. So Premiere syncs everything up and throws each clip onto the next video track up, leaving you with a mountain of timeline media that reads out tiny and jumps all over the place when viewed in the multicam monitor (see picture).
What I'm after:
- the ability to create multicam sequences based on the timeline (lay out all clips from each cam on whichever video track I want, select all, then choose "create multicam sequence") so that the end result isn't 20 video tracks I have to manually collapse into 2 (time waster).
I have been attempting to export a video from both Premiere and Media encoder in the H.264 codec and it continually discards the final few seconds of black frames. I have tried placing black video there, but it doesn't make a difference.

The problem I face is that the footage is incompatible with every sequence preset (as far as I know) apart from AVC Intra 100 (AVC Intra 100 1080p 30fps is the one I'm trying to use). However when I use this preset all that the preview gives me is a black screen wheras the audio is playing perfectly. This isn't urgent as it's always possible to just convert the footage to MP4 with Handbrake however not being able to use this codec would be a shame, especially since I've seen others using it

Black text on a black background. The slider bars show up, but I can't read the labels, and have to go from memory. I uninstalled and then re-installed Photoshop CS6, tried to find where ACR;s prefs are located so I can try trashing them and so forth - all to no avail.

I inserted last clip on timeline and it ends with this last scene with 1/8th vertical black bar. I just need to know how to stretch out that last frame to get rid of the black so the whole image is there without messing up the audio file.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI get a black capture screen when capturing with CS6 on a Windows 7 machine. I'm capturing through Fire wire from DV tape, via the VCR function of a Canon XL2 camera. I have tried restarting, etc.; also toggled the "preview video" radio from the Settings button in the capture Window. Nothing works and I need to be able to preview my video as I'm capturing. It is not good enough that the video actually captures fine. Also, I am forced to turn off Device Control in order to capture because it kicks me out of every capture (an immediate message of : "no frames captured") unless I do.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSomething very strange is going on. All my fonts are slightly compressed, as though the horizontal scaling is set to about 80%. It's not restricted to one font - it's across the board.
We have two macs in the studio with the same problem, and we can't fix it.
Image compression in Photsohop CS6 doesn't seem to be effective on a 16 bit PSD when Maximize Compatibility is turned on.
For example, with Maximize Compatibility set to Always, if I create a new file 6144 x 4096 pixels x 16 bits/channel with a pure white background, and add a single text layer that says "This is a test", then save the file, it's 144 megabytes. Zipping that same file into a .zip archive results in a massive reduction, to 245 kbytes.
Sure enough the saved file size goes down if I set Maximize Compatibility to Never. But even that can be hugely more compressed by zip (down to 88 kbytes).
This implies the failure to compress is happening on the flattened preview.
If I change to 8 bits/channel and save that same document either way it's about two and a half megabytes, differing only a couple hundred kbytes between Maximize Compatibility Always vs. Never. In this case, apparently the flattened preview is being compressed nicely.
These are my file handling preferences. Note that I do NOT have [ ] Disable Compression checked.
Doing a bit of spot testing, I believe this is nothing new - it has been the same in recent past versions (e.g., Ps CS5, CS4). I've just never noticed that saving 16 bits/channel data yielded such huge files (because I always diaabled compression anyway), but apparently it has been the same all along.
No problem here - this is just a curiosity to me, as I have a fast disk array and these saves are all quick enough. I choose the "Always" maximize compatibility setting because I have a viewer (IrfanView) that I use for quick previews that won't read files saved with Maximize Compatility disabled.
I suppose it does beg the question: What prevents Photoshop from doing the Flate compression on the flattened preview in a 16 bits/channel PSD file? Was there an old version that couldn't decompress such files?
I am trying to remove the background from an image. It is a jpg that has had a lot of compression on it, so the edges are quite jaggedy/blurred. I have tried using the magic wand tool, but it seems to cut around the jagedy edges leaving a poor cut.

I'm using Microsoft Word 2010. When I save the document I use Save as > PDF
I created a few images for headers inside of Photoshop CS6. I've tried quite a few resolutions (600, 300, 220, 150, 96, 72) and I've also done all of the tips out there for preventing compression (going into settings > advanced > turning compression off, clicking image going to format preventing compression, and also the save as > tools > 220 dpi/use document compression).
I've also tried a ton of different file types: Jpg, png, gif, tiff, and pdf.
None of this works and my images keep getting compressed when it comes out in PDF.
How do I get this to stop compressing my images?
P.S. The image looks TOTALLY fine inside of the document. But as soon as I export it looks compressed and choppy.
How do i get the spring to have a compressed look with flat end....i try different settings but not able to have the spring rings to touch for a compressed look.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have bunch of compressed .tif files (Resolution is 400 dpi instead of 600) that I can't open in the photoshop.
Right now the only way I can fix these is by using Microsoft Office Picture Manager to convert those files to .bmp file. Then I CAN open it in photoshop and change it back to the correct scale/format (bitmap). However there are like hundreds of them and its going to take a long time to fix those pictures one by one.
Is there any method I can open them in photoshop? Any plug-in I can use?

So I came up with this, I've never done movie ad before, so what are some things i should look out for?
I have been working on a file and every time I compress all the layers to an image file the overlay filter is ignored and it is processed at 100 opacity and normal instead of the overlay filter.
I thought the file was corrupted so i started from stratch again. I have my background layer (black) and a zig zag pattern i created which is set to overlay and 52% opacity, which gives a nice effect with the black layer. When the 2 layers are compressed the pattern layer comes out the full red colour instead of the overlay settings.
Here are the 2 images - the saved jpeg image and a screen shot of what it looks like when working on it in photoshop. I've been at it for 5 days.
