Photoshop :: Turn Off Snapping Docked Photos?
Aug 4, 2012
automatic snapping to dock my photos. before if I wanted to compare my exposures, no problem. just open images and spread them out. easy. now, not for a useful reason it snaps and docks. then by the time I disassemble this, and screenshot the comparision to send to red giant to report a bug, image 3(after) overlaps the other two(before, MBL) in the screenshot.

I'm doing as-builts of a historic structure and the walls are very slightly out of alignment with the x-y axes. Whenever I'm drawing something that's nearly (but not quite) horizontal or vertical, Revit forces it to be aligned to x-y axes. I don't want that but don't know how to turn it off so that it snaps only to my crooked geometry.

I'm using CS3 on Windows. When I minimize a file it automatically goes to the bottom of the screen. How do I get a minimized file to stay where I place it on the screen so that everytime I close the file it will go to the designated place I put it?

In Photoshop CS6 if one wants to use floating document windows (I don't care for tabs) the opened image cannot be moved around the interface. If you drag the image the document window snaps back to where you moved it from plus some amount to the left. Eventually if you keep trying to drag it to a new location it will move all the way to the left side of the screen and will snap back there when you try to move it. I often like to have several images up at once as I do comps and I am very disappointed that such a major interface issue made it through testing un-noticed.
This happens on both my laptop PC and my Desktop. Both Windows 7 64bit pro machines and each have 8G of ram. Desktop has Nvidia graphics and the laptop has Intel graphics. Happens in both 32 and 64 bit versions of windows.

I thought this would be kind of standard for VS Ultimate 6. Can you turn a set of photos into a video? I inserted 650 photos to the timeline and I'm trying to make a time-lapse, stop motion video out of it. Can that be done in VS Ultimate 6? I would hate to think that I went through all that work for nothing.

photoshop CS2 stoped displaying the red channel correctly on all images. The red channel displays very muted color.
After deleting all preferences of CS2, cleaning out the Windows registry, and upgrading to CS3 the problem still remains.
In CS3 however, the color shift goes away if I drag the image outside of Photoshop's main window.
I have a screenshot of this, http://www.miats.com/tmp/PhotoshopIssue.jpg
Photoshop states that both of the large images are solid R:255 G:0 B:0. However, after print screening the images and pasting them back into Photoshop, it shows that the one on the left is actually R:201 G:88 B:34.
The same thing happens for green and blue as well, though the difference is much less dramatic.
I don't remember changing any settings and my laptop (Win XP, CS2) does not have this problem when loading the same images.
My computer is running VISTA 32bit with 3GB of ram. The graphics card is a NVIDIA 6800.

I have the Layer Property Manager and Properties toolbars docked on the left edge of my screen, with the Ribbon vertically between them and the drawing display. I sometimes 'overshoot' when going for a command from the ribbon and the toolbars pop-up immediately so that I then have to move the cursor back into the drawing space and wait for the toolbar to collapse before I can pick the command (more carefully). Is there a way of setting a delay on the tool bars appearing?

I created a paletteset with MinimumSize, it works fine when the paletteset is not docked to anywhere. However the MinimumSize doesn't seem to work at all. I tried to dock it to left, then I can drag the edge to really narrow.

I was experimenting a little bit with the dockers at the right side of the workspace of Corel Draw X5 and now for some reason when I go to "Window" and select a new docker to open, the new docker appears not nested with the rest as it did before, but as new floating window so I have to add it to the rest as a tab manually which is not handy. Up to now each new docker would appear already nested. This is annoying because I really liked the way the dockers appear nested in tabs in X5.
How I can make the dockers appear again tabbed once I open them?

if the command line is docked and you hit F2 to bring up the text screen,
there is no word wrap.
e.g.
type (entget (car (entsel))) pick an object, and then F2 for text screen.
The result is all on one line and you can only view it by scrolling sideways.
The same happens when you list a few lines of Mtext.
If the command line is not docked there is no problem.

I lost the text window that is normally docked on the bottom of the AC screen. I searched and found that F2 brings it up, but I can't find how to have it permanently docked in the bottom left hand corner, where it normally resides. I'm using AutoCad 2002.

How do I prevent files/photos from "snapping" together when I have multipul items open in photoshop CS6 at the same time and drag one close to another one. I work with a very messy screen and I like it that way. I HATE it when the 'snap' together.

i open an image to photoshop cs5 and it opens as a background layer, right?now i drag n drop from windows exporer the same image over the cs5 on top opening as a new layer. It shows up an X over the image where you can reposition the second image (layer) over the first.
i don't want to reposition, its the same image, i want the pixels of the second layer to match EXACTLY the first layer.i press the TICK button or ENTER where the new layer gets the images name BUT when i zoom in 1600% or 3200% and move to the edge i see the edges of the new layer not positioned exactly over the 1st layer.
it positions the new layer 1 or 2 pixels to the right and some times 1 or 2 pixels to the bottom. it doesn't snap the edge.know i can fix it afterwards by align the layers from the layer -> align menu but its annoying, even creating an action..
is there a setting in the prefrences which i'm missing? is it a bug? if so, can this be fixed in CS6?

I guess its in options somewhere but as I dont know what its called I dont know what to search for? Also how do I stop one canvas snapping into another/tabbing into another when moving them around?
