I'm using CS3 on Windows. When I minimize a file it automatically goes to the bottom of the screen. How do I get a minimized file to stay where I place it on the screen so that everytime I close the file it will go to the designated place I put it?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI work with several files at a time and it can become annoying when you open several files and a minimized file keeps opening after each one. I don't want to have it open in the background, I just want it to stay minimized until I'm ready to work with it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedObviously this is a change from CS5 to CS6 and I don't like it. I would like to know how to change it back. When I have a bunch of tabs open in a window and then minimize them because I am working in yet another new window... every time I return to PS6, that minimized window keeps opening up on top of the project I really want to work with. Why doesn't it stay minimized (like it used to in CS5)? Is there a way to go back to the way that works in CS6?
View 10 Replies View RelatedLately whenever I first start CS5 my Layers palette is minimized. It just started doing this yesterday. It never used to do that and I can't think of anything I did that would have caused that. I tried Reset Essentials. That fixes it while I have PS open, but next time I start it up the Layers palette is minimized again.

I then maximize CS4 and the Layers Panel does not show any layers. I have to double-click the Layers tab to reveal my layers. Never had this with CS3.
I know this is a very ignorant question, but when I minimize a window (that contains, say, 1 particular image that I'm putting on the "back burner" for a moment while I work on another image), there is no apparent way to re-open it.
Don't know if it matters or not, but I'm in "Photography" view.There is no "status bar" (as on a web browser) at the bottom. In fact, there are no tools or anything else at the bottom of Photoshop when it's open.
Well, I take that back, there are the ones at the very bottom right that look like a "chain", an "fx", what looks like a "camera", a circle split with black and white, a "folder", a piece of paper, and a trash can, all of which are grayed out.
I know that Paint Shop Pro and previous versions of Photoshop had tabs at the very bottom left of the window, representing windows that were minimized and clicking any one of them would bring the image to the forefront.
automatic snapping to dock my photos. before if I wanted to compare my exposures, no problem. just open images and spread them out. easy. now, not for a useful reason it snaps and docks. then by the time I disassemble this, and screenshot the comparision to send to red giant to report a bug, image 3(after) overlaps the other two(before, MBL) in the screenshot.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIn Photoshop CS6 if one wants to use floating document windows (I don't care for tabs) the opened image cannot be moved around the interface. If you drag the image the document window snaps back to where you moved it from plus some amount to the left. Eventually if you keep trying to drag it to a new location it will move all the way to the left side of the screen and will snap back there when you try to move it. I often like to have several images up at once as I do comps and I am very disappointed that such a major interface issue made it through testing un-noticed.
This happens on both my laptop PC and my Desktop. Both Windows 7 64bit pro machines and each have 8G of ram. Desktop has Nvidia graphics and the laptop has Intel graphics. Happens in both 32 and 64 bit versions of windows.
photoshop CS2 stoped displaying the red channel correctly on all images. The red channel displays very muted color.
After deleting all preferences of CS2, cleaning out the Windows registry, and upgrading to CS3 the problem still remains.
In CS3 however, the color shift goes away if I drag the image outside of Photoshop's main window.

Photoshop states that both of the large images are solid R:255 G:0 B:0. However, after print screening the images and pasting them back into Photoshop, it shows that the one on the left is actually R:201 G:88 B:34.
The same thing happens for green and blue as well, though the difference is much less dramatic.
I don't remember changing any settings and my laptop (Win XP, CS2) does not have this problem when loading the same images.
My computer is running VISTA 32bit with 3GB of ram. The graphics card is a NVIDIA 6800.
I would that Inventor opening in a minimized window.

I have the Layer Property Manager and Properties toolbars docked on the left edge of my screen, with the Ribbon vertically between them and the drawing display. I sometimes 'overshoot' when going for a command from the ribbon and the toolbars pop-up immediately so that I then have to move the cursor back into the drawing space and wait for the toolbar to collapse before I can pick the command (more carefully). Is there a way of setting a delay on the tool bars appearing?

But once Draw is open and minimized and I double click a second file from Explorer or on my desktop, the second file refuses to open in Draw. I have to Restore Draw and either use the file open command or double click the file again from Explorer once it's restored.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI was experimenting a little bit with the dockers at the right side of the workspace of Corel Draw X5 and now for some reason when I go to "Window" and select a new docker to open, the new docker appears not nested with the rest as it did before, but as new floating window so I have to add it to the rest as a tab manually which is not handy. Up to now each new docker would appear already nested. This is annoying because I really liked the way the dockers appear nested in tabs in X5.
How I can make the dockers appear again tabbed once I open them?
if the command line is docked and you hit F2 to bring up the text screen,
there is no word wrap.
e.g.
type (entget (car (entsel))) pick an object, and then F2 for text screen.
The result is all on one line and you can only view it by scrolling sideways.
The same happens when you list a few lines of Mtext.
If the command line is not docked there is no problem.
I lost the text window that is normally docked on the bottom of the AC screen. I searched and found that F2 brings it up, but I can't find how to have it permanently docked in the bottom left hand corner, where it normally resides. I'm using AutoCad 2002.

I need to put them into an in design doc to send out for printing. Is there a way to convert all of these in one fell swoop without messing up the work that has already been done?
I didn't allow in my timing to save each one individually since i didn't know I was going to need to do this. I am really unfamiliar with batch processing, so how to best go about this, or if I even can. I am working in Photoshop CS6. version 13.06 x 64.
I am using Photoshop Elements 10 Version 10 (20110831.m.17215) and everytime I plug in a memory card to upload images it wants to upload every image on the card, even though it has previously uploaded images from that card, even though I have the "Copy New Files Only (Ignore Already Imported Files)" box ticked in the preferences Camera or Card Reader section. This gets very frustrating and time consuming when I have to go through the images every single time to uncheck the images that have already been uploaded.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am working on a museum project. I have been asked to convert full resolution files to web based files using "Save for Web and Devices". The problem is in the file naming. Museums typically use accession #s for each work. Example 1999.63.102 So the digital file would be named 1999.63.102.jpg (or tif).
When I attempt to save the file using "Save for Web and Devices" the resulting name is converted to 1999.jpg I believe the . (periods) to be the culprit. There are hundreds to do so renaming is not an option. This does not occur when I use "Save as".
PSE 12 has a new feature under Preferences/Camera or Card Reader called "Alutomatically Stack RAW and JPEG." Checking this will stack a RAW & JPEG file combination, i.e., when shooting with the camera's RAW + JPEG setting checked. In my case PSE 12 appears to stack my Panasonic RAW files and each JPEG thumbnail shows the right facing arrow to expand the stack. When I click the arrow the arrow disappears but the stack does not expand to reveal the RAW file. The RAW file still exists on the hard drive, but I can't find any way to reveal it in PSE (I've not tried to re-import the RAW files because there are a lot of files in a lot of folders.) This is rather critical and needs to be fixed.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a fairly new Panasonic Lumix LX5. I've recently converted a few files to DNG. They're turning out to be @ 37MB, over three times larger than the original file.
I'm not embedding the original raw files in the DNG. NEF files I convert from my Nikon D2x are around 9.5MB. I'm running Mac OS 10.5.8, DNG v 6.6 and also use PS CS5.5 and Lightroom 3.0.
