I'm pretty familiar with preparing files for print in Illustrator and am currently using CS6. However, I'm not at all familiar with preparing files for printing on non-white fabrics (a black t-shirt in this case). I've had a hunt on Google but haven't yet found a simple answer to my question which is this:
The logo is red and black on a white background (shown below). How do I make sure that the white area prints as white and not "no ink" as would happen when printing on white stock?
There will be a small run initially, so will probably use a heat transfer method rather than screen printing at this point.

I've done quite a bit of research in the forums for a similar problem but not quite got any suitable answer. I'm running LR3.6 on WinXP SP3 with 4Gb RAM (3Gb useable). I'm trying to print 140 images setup on 7 pages each 16" x 24" JPEG size files (settings as below). Surely that should be a doodle? 2 hr+ later, I just have the "Preparing Print Job" progress bar doing nothing like it's expecting further input from me. No error messages, nothing, until I quit. Is there anything I should be watching out for? It's the first time I've tried to convert such a large collection to file and it's rather worrisome that I have these problems. case of "user error"

I originally put this with a post on saving for web but I think this is a bit different.
If I shoot a big painting, the resolution of detail - brushstrokes, canvas, imperfections adds to the overall feel of the image. If I shoot a tiny/small image with the same lens/camera and it fills the screen those details look like a relief map of the Himalayas! Can I get around that? I notice that sharpening can make a difference but what are the principles here?

I need to put images on websites such as headers, buttons, icons, just text and so forth.
I have saved my work first as .xcf for later editing. Then I save my work as .png that I have created with a transparent background. However, when I go to put them on the websites I am building there is Always a white background. ??
Even when I upload them to Photobucket there is a white background. But when I make .png images in Inkscape they load fine to Photobucket with no white background but again, when I try to put the Inkscape .png images on my websites they too have white backgrounds.
Also, when I save files with a transparent background as .gif and upload them to Photobucket the transparent background is there but the images look just awful. They are no longer smooth around the edges & look like the pixels are sticking out all around the images.
Also, when I save files as .gif and upload them to my websites they too have a white background. ??
I've been using Dropbox to send images to my biz partner and both the .png and the .gif are showing up with white backgrounds in Dropbox as well.

Using Corel to prepare images for cutting on a CNC plasma table. any easiest way to prepare images for cutting. With merging images, Lettering and original art work transfer. I need to convert to a DXF format to drop into the machine program (Sheetcam). I have used trace with some success. By this, I mean that the image "looked" good, but I seem to be doing something wrong because the graphic will not run on the machine.

If I make the resolution of a photoshop document canvas 300 PPI (pixels per inch), will it still print out at the original dimensions I set the canvas to? I am asking because I tried a target canvas size of 594mm width by 841mm height on two separate photoshop documents, one at 300 PPI and the other at 72 PPI and it resulted in a huge size difference between the two documents targeted at the same image size. I want to know if they will print at 594mm x 841mm regardless of resolution.

How can I automatically add different pictures in a single canvas using Picture package? i.e. I have about 48 pictures and I want to place 4 different pictures to each [10 X 8 - "4(4X5)"] canvas so that I can send all 48 pictures for printing at a digital studio. When I try, multiple copies of single picture appear on each canvas. I tried 'contact sheet' but not satisfied with the result as I could not change the length and width of the pictures.

There is a well known Photography studio chain that takes pictures in a white room and produces a multiple image canvas, which it frames and sells to you at an extortionate cost.
Is there any easy way of producing the same result with Photoshop ?
I have experimented with layers, but getting the pictures lined up in the right position has proved problematical. Ideally I'd like someone to tell me that there is a utility or plugin that allows you to create a canves, drag and drop, resize, add borders/effects and edit picture onto a grid, resulting in a professional finish.

Canvas rotation is a great tool, but something bugs me about it: As is commonly known, Photoshop offers pre-set zoom levels. By that I mean 25%, 33,3%, 50%, 66,7%, 100%, et. In other words: The zoom level Photoshop jumps to when using the + or - buttons on the keyboard. If an image is in it´s normal orientation on the screen, it appears sharp at all zoom levels. This changes however with canvas rotation.
Rotated at 90°, 180° and 270° the appearance of sharpness is maintained at all zoom levels. But with a rotation in between those values the appearance of sharpness is maintained only at 33,3% and 66,7% zoom. 25%, 50% and 100% make the image appear soft when combined with free canvas rotation.
Could it be the graphics card/driver having a problem with the image represantion while canvas rotation is used? And if so, what kind of graphic processor/driver would be able to maintain the appearance of sharpness at all zoom levels, while canvas rotation is being used?
Before I come across as being nitpicky: I´m mainly using Photoshop for illustration, which means a lot of freehand sketching. Being able to rotate the image area is therefore very important for me, and at some point this soft appearance of an image started to slightly annoy me because it´s slightly blurring detail. I guess it´s the same with seamlessly zooming in and out: At odd zoom levels the image becomes kinda soft as well, even without canvas rotation.
A little excursion into the past, to clarify this issue further: Let´s wind the clocks back to pre-creative suite days. Back then I noticed something strange with those pre set zoom levels in Photoshop. The image appeared perfectly fine at 25%, 50% and 100%, but had jagged edges at 33,3% and 66,7% (as if overly sharpened), which basiclly forced me to work only with the zoom levels mentioned first. Now this problem is gone, which I guess is mainly due to improved graphic drivers (if not: Let me know, I´m always willing to learn).

This is probably a really really simple question but I can't for the life of me find how I can find out an individual image size from multiple images on a canvas. eg I have 3 photos i want to arrange 1 large and the other two next to it half the size. How can I edit individual image size on the canvas as when I select the image on a sperate layer I want to resize it just resizes the entire canvas and not the individual image

capturing screenshots, that will be for print. The company that I work for has a book being made that requires several figures from screenshots. The book is being printed in B&W. I do not have access to any other screen grab program other than Grab, and was wondering if anyone has any advice for making these grabs the best quality they can be for print. I am obviously concerned with resolution, but also the general quality of the images, bluriness when printed, as well as loss of quality and contrast when converted to B&W

I have a folder of 50 images. The images are all different sizes and dimensions (ranging from about 400x600 to 1600x900).
Separately, I have a little design on a canvas in HD dimensions (1920x1080).
The end goal is just to be able to lay out all the photos on the center of the canvas as 50 new individual images (with the HD dimensions of the background canvas).
Obviously, to load in 50 unique images and then export each of them would take a long time. So I was hoping that there is a way to both (a) automatically combine multiple unique images to a common background, and then (b) export them all.

I created an animation which was working just fine within animate and which I was also able to successfully export as an oam file to then be used on Wordpress. However when I reloaded the animation within edge the next day to make some adjustments, the majority of svg images I used are not showing on the canvas. Theyre present on the stage, elements and assets but when I select, only the box is visible and not the image. Theyre set to be visible (the little eye thingy) but aside from that, theyre a no-show.

I have been working exclusively in Photoshop, but a printer has asked me to provide files in illustrator. The files are for a 1:1 print job (packaging) and do not need to be enlarged. Is there any reason why a printer would not be able to use Photoshop files? Also is there a way to convert the files to illustrator or an equivalent without any loss of quality?

I just got CS5.1 at my job. This must be a preference, but when I adjust the Canvas size, it will constrain the image, rather than cropping the canvas. The Anchor in the Canvas Size menu appears outlined (highlighted?) which indicates that this is something in preferences that I can adjust.

I have a PSPIMAGE file with a plenty of images as different layers. I am adjusting the images having one image "size" as reference (make same width and height). But I could select the multiple images just through layers pallete
whether is possible to select multiple pictures (each in different layer) by using the "pick tool" direct in the canvas (or other means)?

I have been successfully printing images from CS3 on an Epson 3880. Now that I have had to upgrade to CS6, I have a big problem. In CS3 When I went Print-> Photoshop Manages Colors to choose an ICC color profile, there would be a companion Output box, where I could drag the Transfer slider down to brighten the image. I can't find Output in CS6! Since choosing Photoshop Manages Colors turns off the printer's color etc controls,

I cannot print photogrpaic images with my desktop MAC (OS X10.8.4) from Photoshop Elements 9.0 to my new Epson XP-800 printer. Printing is not a problem with Word text or images from iPhoto- it is only with PSE that there is a problem. The problem persists even if I try using a cabled connection rather than WiFi. I have ensured latest software from Epson has been downloaded. This problem did not occur when using the same system with the previous printer (Epson Photo Stylus 1290).
Any workaround of moving the edited PSE image back to iPhoto & printing from there (which admittedly does work but shouldn't be necessary).

I'm new to the site. I have been using adobe software for a good few years at this point, and i have been trying to solve a problem with my friends Photoshop and illustrator. every time she prints out work, its all off colour and over exposed like the colour preferences are messed up.
When printing a word doc or regular jpg images there is no problem. It only happens when trying to print in Photoshop or illustrator.

I have a small print shop and have had an issue with the new Photoshop CC not printing images with correct margins on and Epson 9890 and 11880. If I set the image to center on an 8x10 sheet (or any other size). The image comes out skewed to the upper left. between .125 and .25 inches to the left and to the top. I never had this issue with other versions of Photoshop.

I have just started producing photo books, and I am very pleased with the results. But then I realised that I should have changed the resolution of the images I sent to the printing company from 72 dpi to 300 dpi. I have just sent another book with all the images changed to 300dpi which should be good. But ..... I didn't do anything with the "resampling" tick box - I just left it ticked (mainly cos I didn't understand it). Should I have unchecked the "resampling" tick box?
