I have 5 text layers for the different sections (home, news, contact etc.) and I have them all aligned horizontally. I position the far left text layer where it needs to be, then the far right text layer where it needs to be, link all the text layers and hit 'Distribute Horizontal Centers' to have them fill out the space between evenly.
View 2 RepliesI've used the blend tool to create 10 circles going from smallest at the top > largest at the bottom. When I Align > Distribute evenly on the vertical axis - the circles aren't evenly spaced. I'm guessing ai is doing the math from the centerpoint? How can I get them distributed so that the space between each circle is the same. F- 10 px from the top of one circle to the bottom of the one above it.

What I want to do is evenly distribute layers around a circle, each layer must be evenly spaced.
This image is just a very quick and dirty example of what I want (aside from the fact that it isnt evenly distributed and I just painted dots around). What I want to do is evenly place these dots around the circle, each dot must be the same distance from the one beside it and across from it.
I have 4 lines of text. They are currently in 4 separate layers as they are 4 separate buttons. How do I make sure the verticle space between them is even?

On the labels, the address text follows a circular path with bullets between the name, street, and city/state/zip. Now that I've entered all of the text onto the curved path, how do I distribute it evenly along that path? In other words, how do I ensure that the same amount of space exists at the beginning and end of my line of text? Right now, there is "leftover" space at the end of the address.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get a white layer with see through writing which reveals the background image underneath. (Almost like I have put a stencil over a photograph). I have discovered this is called a clipping mask.
However, I am having difficulty using a clipping mask over multiple text layers. It seems to only do it to one layer directly beneath. I do not want to merge the text layers as I want to mess about with the design a fair bit.
I finally have my first and only .Net version of a former VBA function running and I want to make it available to other users, but security is getting in the way. Copying the project even to a different location on the same local hard drive results in a security violation, let alone copying it to a network directory. I am using Visual Studio Express 2008 and cannot find the ClickOnce nor any Publish function written up on MDSN - do those tools only apply to exe style projects?
I did read about a work around of adding an allow remote flag to the AutoCAD configuration file, but that appears to be a massive security hole as it could (I think?) allow *any* malicious dll file to run.
Is distributing / publishing a dll project impossible with Express?

I'm a beginner with Illustrator and I've got a problem with distributing objects around a circle in Illustrator cs6. What I'm trying to do is to have these acrhed lines (as per the top three curves you can see below) go around a circle, surrounding it (don't know if i explain myself good...). I was using both blend tool and rotate tool and it doesnt work for me the way I want it. All the time its sort of upside down at the bottom of the cirle and totaly twisted on the left and right...
View 13 Replies View RelatedI often will borrow groups and layers from one document and drag them into a new or a different PS document to borrow the layers and formatting so I am not starting over from scratch with a design that I just need to re-work into a different size.
But in the last two weeks, when I drag the layers over, they start mysteriously changing into other layers that I did not drag over. What is causing this bug? It wasn't there before as I have performed this action many times in various projects. I am using PS CS6 on a Mac Book Pro.
I tried to create a rendering utilizing the IES file from a light fixture manufacturer and I can't seem to get the photometric web to distribute along the full length of the bulb. It looks like the light is being distributed from a point in the middle of the light fixture although it is a 4' T8 fluorescent bulb. In the light family Light Source Definition, I set the Emit from shape to be a line and set the Light Distribution to be Photometric Web and set the Emit From Line Length parameter to be 4'. The distribution of the light looks correct, but just only from a point.

The font increases, but the text boxes don't expand to fit the increased size text. So I am having to make each box bigger manually. Is there a way to have the boxes expand to fit bigger text automatically through the layers panel?

Sure we can create nice video presentations but we want them to be able to nagivate the model freely. Is there any way to get the models into 3D PDF format?
The same issue arises with Civil 3D. Apparently it does not support output to 3D PDF. Do we have to purchase a driver for this?

We use AutoCad to name our dxf files for our Burn Table and whenever we get a new part it is a repetitive task to input layers and common text. So what I am curious is can AutoCAD input the layers and text automatically using a Macro?
I want the Macro to put in 6 layers and choose the layer color and title then input text boxes with word in 3 different layers. There will be about a total of 10 different text boxes with text already put in the boxes by the Macro.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI need distributing horizontal strips of images into a 720x480 canvas. The images vary in heights and constant in width= 720 pixels. For example, i get a set of 17 horizontal strips. 10 strips with height of 8 pixels each, and 7 strips with height of 13 pixels each.
I need to figure out a math formula that will give me the spacing in between these horizontal strips that would allow me to put them evenly onto a 720x480 canvas.

my gimp 2.8.6 makes majority normal layers turn into text layers..
Even if i "discard text information" from layer..and then save it as .xcf it doesnt work! Same layers appear as text layers when i open that .xcf Its not a big deal but it really slows me down when im working with layers..

View 3 Replies View RelatedI usually make a 6 petal flower shape by creating a petal, flipping a copy and rotating 2 copies at 60 degrees. (at left, below). But I want to make a 5 petal flower and cannot figure out how to do that. let's say I have an elongated oval and I want to rotate 4 more copies at 72 degrees. And I want it to be "mathematically perfect / evenly spaced, using the black dot as the point of rotation. how would i do that? On the right - you can see what i am aiming for, but there's no way to be perfect doing it by hand.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am creating a layered marine chart with reference points. I've imported the chart and am creating text layers with a reference number in them.
I have about 700 of these to add - a daunting task - but it's for a NZ coastguard unit, so is worthwhile.
The idea is to have a layer with all our reference points on it, so when a chart is updated, we can just import the chart; add back the reference points layers and print it out.
(Why? NZ baynames, danger spots etc usually have 2 names; an english name and a maori name - sometimes we have to cross reference when on the water to find the correct place).
Is creating text layers the best way of doing this?

How to evenly space objects between 2 lines. In this instance I am trying to space recessed lights across a ceiling. If I use the divide command and snap to the node the space between the wall and the first light will be greater than the space between the first and second light.

My issue is that I have objects shaped like people and would like them evenly around the circle, but rotated correctly so that their feet are all touching the circular path and their heads are always facing out.
