CorelDRAW X4 :: Grid / Table Layout - How To Evenly Space Rows And Columns
May 14, 2012I want to draw up a large grid or table in AO sized paper. I will then get it laminated and use it to write down on the left hand column each company I see and sell to. Then beside the company running horizontally I want little check boxes that I can tick off with a marker to not when I last visited that company.
So how doe I make a large sized table with evenly spaced columns and rows etc.
I though that I could just select the table button and set how many rows etc then click and drag. This works, but I want to be able to enter in a value of say 100mm wide by 30mm high and set that for each grid.
The only setting like that is for the actual whole area of the grid/table not each individual cell. Can it be done like how I said?

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X3 :: How To Space Lines Evenly Along Radius Of Specific Range
Jul 11, 2011I have a radius that is spread between 10 and 40 degrees that I need to evenly space 6 line segments throughout.
What this is for is a property with 5 lots along a curved street. Each lot is the same size and I am trying to draw just the sections that are affected. I have tried using the star feature and reducing it to single lines, but they do not space evenly and getting the line number is very difficult. I have tried dividing the angle range and come up with the correct angle and spacing but this is also an issue. Is there any way to do this without dragging each line separately?

Apr 22, 2013I am fishing around for information that will abstract my macro one more level. I coded an excel macro to run the following statement on a given set of drawings:
DWG.SendCommand ("FILEDIA" & vbCr & "0" & vbCr & "-ATTEXT" & vbCr & "C" & vbCr & ExtTemplate & vbCr & ExtPath & vbCr & "Y" & vbCr & "FILEDIA" & vbCr & "1" & vbCr)
Yielding text files which I consolidate into Excel to generate a full attribute extraction of the drawing set. My question concerns the extraction template file used in the ATTEXT command (shown as ExtTemplate in the code above). As it stands now, the Excel user must provide the attribute tags they want to extract and then I generate the proper extraction template in the background. My goal would be to eliminate this step from the user side and simply extract all attributes in the drawing instead of a designated few.
If you know a better way to do this using the ATTEXT command or a way to do this without the ATTEXT command at all, I would be grateful to hear it. From my current perspective however, I believe I would need to query the drawing to get a list of all attribute tags it contains, then configure the extraction template to use all the tags from that query. I cannot figure out a way to generate this list of tags. So, that is my question

Instead of manually writing a large number of line like
(setq var1 value1)
(setq var2 value2) etc
I used to be able to put 1 line in a loop to create and assign a large number of variables. I remember that it involved the use of the set (not setq) and read functions.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 12 :: Align Shape And Text Object At Center Of Shape?
Jan 14, 2012I'm creating a logo that consists of the word DIFFERENT in text and a shape, a dot (an ellipse) that I want to appear above the I and be vertically aligned with I.
How can I do this?The problem is that I can't see how to identify the point in the text - the centre of the I - to act as the target. I can't seem to get any of the Snap to Object tools to work.
I feel that I should be able to mark a specific point anywhere on a shape or an object and use those points to align.
I suspect that I could achieve the effect that I want by splitting the text characters up into individual objects, than I can align them more obviously but then I set up some other issues with kerning.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X3 :: Text Within Shape While Precisely Keeping The Shape's Outline
Nov 11, 2011I'm working with CorelDraw X3 and want to fill text into a round shape, while keeping it's exact outline. Hence, cutting of parts of words and letters is fine with me as long as the shape is well-defined. Unfortunately when filling paragraph text into a shape, the automatic line breaks lead to a quite irregular shape regardless of font size.
As workaround I arranged a mask in front of background and text but this requires a square paragraph text which is larger than the background. Since paragraph text obviously cannot be cropped with other objects I made the mask size bigger and filled it white. When exporting my document as image everything looks neat, but there must be a better way to do this in CorelDraw itself?
I tried converting the paragraph text into artistic text and cropping this, which works fine for a few words and a small object. But I'm talking around 1000 words here, and trying to crop this artistic text leads to very random cropping results. I guess such a large number of objects and knots is too much for CorelDraw to handle!?

Jan 29, 2011I'm using CorelDRAW X5. When I used version 12 and earlier versions, the color palette displayed on the right side of the screen showed color names. (I think you only saw the name when you selected a color.) Now instead I see only numerical values.
Is there a way to restore color names here? It seems this should be a simple option, like display color values or color names.

Apr 13, 2012Several of our files are taking forever to print. I noticed that the color names are Pantone 464 PC. I'm not sure what the PC extension is, but when I looked at separations there were literally 100's of unnamed colors. I looked at the color styles docker and it was empty. If I change the color to a Pantone 464 C the file prints just fine.
So, my questions is, where did the PC color come from? I checked all the workstations and they are all using Pantone Coated C color docker.

May 14, 2012I'm getting around to installing 2013 Max Design on my network of 5 computers.They are all Windows 7 64-bit, and all except one are working fine with Distributed Bucket Rendering.

The problem computer shows up in the network from the host computer and can be pinged.
It's also not that I'm using too many processors, because I'm checking each one individually.

Feb 26, 2012My wife is starting a label company - we design the labels in corelx5 then print & cut them out on our printer - but I'm wondering how to autoduplicate the names into each of the labels on the page (a page has maybe 100 labels that would have the persons name in them - same name in each label). Rather than copy things over & over how can I set things up so that I type the name into the first label and it fills all the rest of the labels on the sheet with the same name automatically ?

3ds Max :: Distributed Bucket Rendering Freezes Program?

The render freezes at 100%. The 3ds max memory in task manager remain the same.
I had checked all options: Place holder, Conserve memory, map manager.
In lighter scenes, it renders normal. But in complex scenes, it always freezes at 100%. I have to close the process in task manager.
I'm working on two computers. And the network is gigabit.
3ds Max :: Vray Distributed Rendering Could Not Connect To Host
Oct 29, 2012I have been trying to set up another computer to render in vray by distributing render. I have followed various online tutorials showing exactly how to set it up but to no avail. When i render it says "could not connect to host 192.168.... no connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it". I have 64 bit running on my main pc with 32bit on my slave, vray 2.0 and 3ds max design 2012 on both machines,both pc's can see each other, on the same workgroup and backburner works. I have vray set up properly and vray spawner started although no icon appears in the taskbar as some say it should.

Nov 28, 2011I'm in the process of creating 3D points (as an overlay) on some laser scanned data (using RiScan, it's just 3d dimensional data, with a northing, easting and RL) and unfortunately the only export option is to export to .dxf... Which is fine but when I export, the information has the point ID as the layer name.
I am aiming at getting this data into another program to analyse and it needs the point ID or name to be my annotation, as opposed to the layer.
So what I need is a way of converting the names of each individual points layer, to the point ID.

Sep 26, 2012I have both Corel 12 and X5. A few years ago a friend of mine installed a custom color palette in my C12 that was matched to the Federal Standard 595 color system.
When I move the cursor over each color in the palette, it displays the FS number assigned to each color (ie. FS35237, FS37038, etc.)
I recently installed the same color palette into X5. However, when I move the cursor over each color, it displays the RGB color ratios for each color. If I open the palette and click on the 'display names' option, it shows the FS number for each color but reverts back to the RGB ratio when the palette is minimized to the right of my screen (I hope that makes sense).
How can I get the FS numbers to display when I move the cursor over the colors?

CorelDRAW X5 :: Cutting A Shape From Within Another Shape
Aug 16, 2011This is something that has bugged me for ages. Sometimes i have real problems making a circular hole in another shape. I would normally use 'back minus front', but when i do this a lot of the time Corel adds the nodes into the shape but it doesn't actually cut out the area. Hopefully the graphics here will explain this better.
So i want to cut the three white circles from the blue background, but you can see the results:
The odd thing is this doesn't always happen. If i just draw a square and a circle, and cut one from the other, it works fine. Also, is there an easy way to 'punch' out the nodes that it has left in there to make the hole in the shape?

Jun 20, 2012Alright I am trying to create a shape made up of tons of instances of a symbol (best example of what I am trying to achieve is here )
I hoped I could just use draw inside mode and the symbol sprayer however I am not able to ensure the instances don't colide and that they actually completely fit inside the shape without being cut off.
I am obviously going about this the wrong way but have searched for unsuccessfully for any instruction on how this could be achieved.
