How do I crop an irregular selection( eg I have a reflection in a window surrounded by a brick wall). I select the window using the quick selection tool. How do I crop just preserving the window and getting rid of the bricks?
View 2 RepliesI am working on a project at the moment, which entails cropping irregular shapes and bringing all the shapes together to form one finished image. I have added an example of the images that I am using.
I have managed to lasso an element from this sheet, but don't know how to take that element and put it on a nice new white background/sheet then take other elements from this page and other pages that I have, then create a new image from all the elements.
I know about all of the normal selection methods in CorelDraw, but is there a Macro or some way to do an irregular marquee selection?

The problem is, Radial gradient does not make all the borders black (it's not a circle after all) and if i use resize well...it resizes on a median point but it does not do the same with let's say, 10px from the border .....

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using Photoshop CS6 on a desktop running Windows 7 with AMD Radeon HD 6750 and I noticed that when I zoom at 66.7% or 33%, the pictures edges look "jagged"/blurry, etc. and the image only has a smooth rendering at 100%, 50%, 25%, etc.
I wouldn't ask about this except, I have the same exact version of Photoshop on my laptop, running Windows 7 with Intel's HD 4000 built-in graphics, and this computer displays smooth rendering of images at any zoom level, no matter what. So why the difference? The settings in the Preferences > Performance section is identical on both computers.
Like the title says I'd like to know how to darken (or change the color) a specific irregular area of a picture, without afecting the rest of the picture.

The stone shape has to have a separate top and bottom so that I can embed electronics in it afterwards. My problem is I am finding it difficult to create a lip that will enable the top & bottom to securely fit into one another, so that when someone picks it up it will not fall apart. I was thinking of using a system like the attached image Lip_Profile.gif. I have no problem modelling something like this on a regular box/sphere using a lathe, however I can't find a technique to model this on irregular objects. Any technique that would enable me to model such a fitted lid?

I'm having problems with a document which has 26 artboards, the document was created by another designer and for some reason everytime I try and rearrange the artboards in this document, it crashes illustrator. The document is not large enough to warrent my machine crashing when I try and do this, and I have plenty of ram. Also the artboards are stacked very irrgeularly they do not work in sequence either horizontaly or vertically down the document canvas area in rows of columns, how is it possible to arrange the art boards in an irregular way like this, I would like to know for future reference? Maybe if I can find this out I can manually rearrange the boards. I should mention when I do try and rearrange the boards, sometimes it doens't crash illustraor straight away and it gives me the message that the artboards will fall completely outside of the document area. This happens no matter what direction I try ( grid by row, grid by coloumn, arrange by row, arrange by column) and also when I try and reduce the amount of space between the boards it doesn't work either.
I cannot upload images as the document is for a client.
I have trouble manually tracing around an irregular shape, such as a pitcher winding up to pitch a ball. I use the shape editor to outline the figure. When I finish I find that there's two outlines, and they're not connected. Is there some way to get them connected as one complete outline?

To this point, I have been able to achieve this using multiple components and masses, but I was wondering if there was a way to make a single object with a single solid material that may be able to achieve the same effect. I have some really weird, irregular shapes that's consisted of fillets, lines, and arcs. For some reason I cannot REGION it. But I can HATCH it, and give it a solid inner part.
My irregular after being filled, can't be extruded. When I try extruding it, the command line goes "This kind of shape cannot be extruded", without any explanation, or keywords.
Then, if I try to PressPull, it only PressPull the outline of the irregular shape, without pulling out the inner bulk part.
Then if I try to do anything more, my AutoCad likes to go "About to regen -- proceed?" error.
Case 1: Open the photo in Photoshop. Create a clipping mask (in my case a teardrop shape) in Photoshop. Place the PSD file into Illustrator
Problem:This works OK but when you view the image closely in Illustrator the edges are jagged
Case 2: Open the photo in Photoshop. Create a clipping mask (in my case a teardrop shape) in Photoshop. Do a "Save As" the Photoshop file as a PDF file using [High Quality Print] as the Adobe PDF Preset. Place the PDF file into Illustrator
Problem: None - now the edges are perfectly smooth, not jagged

T he problem I'm having is that it's an involved process and most of the time requires too much tweaking - the points in both shapes should be the same and should approximate each other's distances btw the location on both shapes. I'm wondering if there's another, more direct way to, let's say, take a letter and get a falloff gradient in the shape of the letter...
just realised that a drop shadow might work....i need the gradient to eventually become a mask...
im using XXP5, i have an irregular polygon or shape which is the space between a curved shapes outline. within this irregular shape, I want to mould the textso it is stretched / destretched to fill the space yet still be readable.
i have tried to convert the text to shapes and then adjust the nodes, but i dont get any nodes making up each letter(!) the mould tool itself doesnt seem to work. the process first involves stretching the font and rotating it to roughly fit it as close as possible.
