I have this large background for a website and i want to make a banner at the top. The background has a designated shape and size for the banner. I need to crop the irregular shape and make a whole new image out of it in order to put my banner inside of it.

The problem is, Radial gradient does not make all the borders black (it's not a circle after all) and if i use resize well...it resizes on a median point but it does not do the same with let's say, 10px from the border .....
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am working on a project at the moment, which entails cropping irregular shapes and bringing all the shapes together to form one finished image. I have added an example of the images that I am using.
I have managed to lasso an element from this sheet, but don't know how to take that element and put it on a nice new white background/sheet then take other elements from this page and other pages that I have, then create a new image from all the elements.
The problem I'm having is presspull/extrude irregular shapes.
I have some really weird, irregular shapes that's consisted of fillets, lines, and arcs. For some reason I cannot REGION it. But I can HATCH it, and give it a solid inner part.
My irregular after being filled, can't be extruded. When I try extruding it, the command line goes "This kind of shape cannot be extruded", without any explanation, or keywords.
Then, if I try to PressPull, it only PressPull the outline of the irregular shape, without pulling out the inner bulk part.
Then if I try to do anything more, my AutoCad likes to go "About to regen -- proceed?" error.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI drew something up on a sheet of paper, scanned it, then traced it's bitmap as line art. I then proceded to edit the vectors to recover all the detail I lost with the tracing. It took forever!
Now that I´m done, I realised there is a problem... how can I color in the drawing, if the lines themselves make up the shape? Essentially, I´m left with blank spaces in between all the lines instead of solid individual shapes that can be colored in.
What can I do? I´m so desperate I´m thinking of creating a gazillion individual shapes with the colors, and slapping them underneath the lines to "improv" a fill. But that will take waay too long, so is there an easier way?
If I could "invert" the shape I have now, so that the blank spaces become individual shapes, and the lines become blank spaces.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using Photoshop CS6 on a desktop running Windows 7 with AMD Radeon HD 6750 and I noticed that when I zoom at 66.7% or 33%, the pictures edges look "jagged"/blurry, etc. and the image only has a smooth rendering at 100%, 50%, 25%, etc.
I wouldn't ask about this except, I have the same exact version of Photoshop on my laptop, running Windows 7 with Intel's HD 4000 built-in graphics, and this computer displays smooth rendering of images at any zoom level, no matter what. So why the difference? The settings in the Preferences > Performance section is identical on both computers.

The stone shape has to have a separate top and bottom so that I can embed electronics in it afterwards. My problem is I am finding it difficult to create a lip that will enable the top & bottom to securely fit into one another, so that when someone picks it up it will not fall apart. I was thinking of using a system like the attached image Lip_Profile.gif. I have no problem modelling something like this on a regular box/sphere using a lathe, however I can't find a technique to model this on irregular objects. Any technique that would enable me to model such a fitted lid?

I'm having problems with a document which has 26 artboards, the document was created by another designer and for some reason everytime I try and rearrange the artboards in this document, it crashes illustrator. The document is not large enough to warrent my machine crashing when I try and do this, and I have plenty of ram. Also the artboards are stacked very irrgeularly they do not work in sequence either horizontaly or vertically down the document canvas area in rows of columns, how is it possible to arrange the art boards in an irregular way like this, I would like to know for future reference? Maybe if I can find this out I can manually rearrange the boards. I should mention when I do try and rearrange the boards, sometimes it doens't crash illustraor straight away and it gives me the message that the artboards will fall completely outside of the document area. This happens no matter what direction I try ( grid by row, grid by coloumn, arrange by row, arrange by column) and also when I try and reduce the amount of space between the boards it doesn't work either.
I cannot upload images as the document is for a client.
I have trouble manually tracing around an irregular shape, such as a pitcher winding up to pitch a ball. I use the shape editor to outline the figure. When I finish I find that there's two outlines, and they're not connected. Is there some way to get them connected as one complete outline?

To this point, I have been able to achieve this using multiple components and masses, but I was wondering if there was a way to make a single object with a single solid material that may be able to achieve the same effect.
