is there a way to make a blend on an irregular object, for instance an object made with custom curves using the bezier tool. I can get it to blend with a circle or square. Here is an example, this is my website. URL..... I did the top graphic one object at a time.
Whenever I export a vector containing blend groups from CDR x5 to AI , the corresponding AI file does not contain the blend group, rather a simple group of 50 objects that have to be deleted and the blending redone in illustrator.
This is a problem that comes from previous versions. When applying a figure using Wrap resource to a Paragraph Text in columns: most of times the basis of the text is not aligned correctly.
I often produce graphics in CorelDRAW, export it as en eps file and insert it inside a MS Word document as an image and finally convert it to pdf. This way my vector graphics (often linedrawings with or without fill) usually is preserved in the final pdf document. I can zoom in and the lines keep on displaying perfectly sharp. This is important, since it easily looks bad when thin lines are turned into bitmaps, even when watched from a distance.
Now, in some graphics I created today, I had a circle with fountain fill and outline (symbolizing a sphere) put behind a filled rectangle, which had a uniform transparency applied to it. In the resulting pdf file, the 'sphere' was turned into bitmap. Inside CorelDRAW everything was vector graphics, but something was loast in the process. what happens with the graphics in the different steps in the process and eventually could explain a workaround to make everything look as vector in the final pdf file.
I am trying to blend two pictures using layer masks and the gradient tool. I have seen a tutorial from photoshop which enables you to place one picture on the top of the other and using the gradient tool blend and expose the background from all corners of the picture, in fact any part of the picture. However when I try to do multiple blends in GIMP, the first blend works OK but when I go to do the second one, the first one is deleted. The photoshop example showed a ladies face with forest scene and waterfall as a background. In that example with the face in the foreground, it was possible to blend from a number of places from all sides and each time a blend was done, it would remain there even after more blends were done. Does GIMP have the same capability for doing this as photoshop?
Why are my blends in Illustrator CS4 not saving or printing correctly???
SPECS: Adobe CS4 MAC 10.5.8
I got a outlined Text blend with a drop shadow. And another text with a drop shadow on top. Not too complex at all. Heres some screenshots of the problem.
(1) Adobe Illustrator Screenshot (1) Screenshot of my saved TIff file. I saved as a PDF as well and still no luck.
When I am adding blends or fillets to a 3D model, sometimes after picking a few edges I will inadvertently select a wrong edge. Can I deselect the edge and resume selecting edges for the fillets or do I have to start over from the beginning?
I'm making a layout of 2 inch squares, 20 wide and 5 tall, to make color swatches for matching a target color. I'm then taking a starting value and using the edit colors>blend vertically, and blend horizontally to blend the color in the direction I think it needs. But every three or so blends i make it crashes the program, and even when I save my progress it crashes half the time. its a simple file just 2 inch square with color files.
I'm using CS6 on a osx10.6.8 ALL other jobs I've been working on have been fine.
I started to use Illustrator since CS2 and done heaps of shapes using the 3d feature.ever since cs5 and beyond, ive encountered a problem when ever I import or copy paiste from illustrator into Photoshop my 3d shape tends to have missing blend steps. I'm setting it to 256 blend steps to get a smooth transition but when i import my Ai into ps or copy paiste it notice that it leaves some small gaps in between the blends. Now does this happen to any other users?
On the left is illustrator using 3d and on the right is the copy paisted/imported Ai file, ive put a red shape behind the yellow ace of spade to make it clear that the red is noticeable.
I've been trying to extract the logic behind Xara's handling of multi-stage blends, but am having trouble.
Here's an example. I have these objects:
and create a blend between the left two
now, to continue with a multi-stage blend, I connect the bottom control point of the second object with the bottom control point of the third
All well and good. However, if I had tried to connect the top point of the second object with the top point of the third, like this (screenshot taken just before I release the mouse button)
Xara decides to blend from the first object to the third.
Eventually, by trial and error, I can get my multi-stage blends working, but it's inscrutable why it works logically sometimes, and why not.
When I use the blend tool for a smooth blend, the blends comes out jagged and horrible, as if it is doing a step blend rather than a smooth blend. I have used the tool before by either using the shortcut (Alt+Ctrl+B) or using it via the Object>Blend pathway and it worked out fine, but now Illustrator doesn't want to create a smooth blend.
What I'm trying to say is; is there an option that is causing this to happen that I may have accidently turned on, or has my copy of Illustrator gone into stupidity mode and I need to reinstall it?
I've attached pictures of what I mean with the settings I'm using and outputs. I hope your collective minds can smack this one in the face. I'm sure I'm doing something ridiculously simple to cause this.
I'm using CS5 Illustrator and my relevant PC hardware is listed below. - Intel i5-2500 3.30Ghz - nVidia GeForce GTX 560
I have this large background for a website and i want to make a banner at the top. The background has a designated shape and size for the banner. I need to crop the irregular shape and make a whole new image out of it in order to put my banner inside of it.
How do I crop an irregular selection( eg I have a reflection in a window surrounded by a brick wall). I select the window using the quick selection tool. How do I crop just preserving the window and getting rid of the bricks?
I need to use gradient on a shape so that it's black on the borders and lighter in the center. The problem is, Radial gradient does not make all the borders black (it's not a circle after all) and if i use resize well...it resizes on a median point but it does not do the same with let's say, 10px from the border .....
I want to model a hollow stone shaped (see images attached) object in 3D max that will be 3D printed. The stone shape has to have a separate top and bottom so that I can embed electronics in it afterwards. My problem is I am finding it difficult to create a lip that will enable the top & bottom to securely fit into one another, so that when someone picks it up it will not fall apart. I was thinking of using a system like the attached image Lip_Profile.gif. I have no problem modelling something like this on a regular box/sphere using a lathe, however I can't find a technique to model this on irregular objects. Any technique that would enable me to model such a fitted lid?
I've attached 2 images showing of the section of the geometry I want to delete, second image is as a editable poly displayed as a wireframe. Is there a simple way of idenfying the section boundary and deleting all the enclosing polygons?
I want to draw a wall with irregular bricks. Meaning these are old elongate bricks that are not exactly rectangular and are not all of the same length.
I'm having problems with a document which has 26 artboards, the document was created by another designer and for some reason everytime I try and rearrange the artboards in this document, it crashes illustrator. The document is not large enough to warrent my machine crashing when I try and do this, and I have plenty of ram. Also the artboards are stacked very irrgeularly they do not work in sequence either horizontaly or vertically down the document canvas area in rows of columns, how is it possible to arrange the art boards in an irregular way like this, I would like to know for future reference? Maybe if I can find this out I can manually rearrange the boards. I should mention when I do try and rearrange the boards, sometimes it doens't crash illustraor straight away and it gives me the message that the artboards will fall completely outside of the document area. This happens no matter what direction I try ( grid by row, grid by coloumn, arrange by row, arrange by column) and also when I try and reduce the amount of space between the boards it doesn't work either.
I cannot upload images as the document is for a client.
We have created a simple label and grouped several components in CorelDraw X5. Now we cannot ungroup the components. When we right-click the group, the options to group or ungroup are dimmed. The result is the same when right-clicking on the group in the object manager docker.
Perhaps related, is the fact we cannot select the components of the group from the object manager docker. We can select the group, but none of the individual components in the group. None of the layers is 'Locked' in the object manager docker so we should be able to edit them.
What might be preventing us from accessing the ungroup option for a group?
Having an issue with my objects not letting me drag them. I can move them with the arrow keys, by the coordinates, and can even move the nodes but i can't just grab and drag them with the mouse.
I created a design in Corel X6. My design was then sent to a vinyl cutter and heat pressed on to t-shirts. My problem is this: where the vinyl overlaps I get an impression mark on the vinyl at the top. How can I delete the portion of the design in Corel that will beoverlapping to eliminate the impression marks?
I glad to know can i run object with text in coreldraw. I'm working on a book the when i format the some paragraphs the fractions and decorative things back and fro from its original position. So it's a pretty hard to arrange manage on its original position. I try by grouping them with text boxes. The real problems is about fractions and square roots which is drawn by nodes. Can i add equation from math type in text box.
When I print from Corel Draw X3 some of the objects do not print. They are in the art and show up fine on the print preview but then when I print, those objects are missing. It's almost always with customer art that I've imported. I can't recall it ever happening with art that was designed in X3.
It's the strangest thing. If I change the color of the object that won't print it will then show up in the print preview for the corresponding color. But it still won't print. I usually end up having to recreate that object and then it prints fine. I don't understand why it wouldn't print if I'm able to view the object and change it's color.
I'm using Accu-Rip software, an Epson 1400 printer, and Windows XP. We print separations for screen printing.
When working on a custom page size, the bitmaps and vector objects disappears, well, i can still select them, but i cant see them, i import the images using the import function, all fine, till i try to move them or resize them, then they vanish.
Is there an easy way to fix visible gap between objects?
I draw an example to demonstrate the problem. I created this box using snap to objects, after removing the outline it leaves a visible gap between objects. Even if i draw without an outline, the gap still show.
